A Short Peter Beardsley story: In the 90s I worked for a glazing company. We got a job to glaze some observation galleries at the missile test ranges in the Outer Hebrides. Anyway there wasn't much to do in the evenings so we would go for a pint in the Naafi bar on the base. There was some women soldiers stationed on the base who also frequented the bar. After a few pints, the best looking of these female squaddies was the spitting image of Peter. Is there any evidence of him serving in the army as woman. Perhaps in his wilderness years to escape controversy or his wife etc...As an excellent communicator, Peter would be particularly good at giving fire orders over the radio for the missiles...Something like: "up a bit, left a bit...fire" ...you get the drift. Anyway, I'll leave it there...
