Walk-in Cool Room Appears to Have Issues

We’ve picked up a few new sites recently all with refrigeration equipment. We haven’t started our regular maintenances yet, but while inspecting this cool room another tech flagged that it might not be performing as it should.

Love the perspective of not just charging it to a full charge because you can, we recently picked up a fast paced contract with over 150 refrigeration systems and the client demands we top up systems then return when we’re less under the pump, does my head in.

That sounds frustrating mate. I’ve been in situations like that before with other companies. Now I won’t do it, but luckily we don’t look after a lot of refrigeration gear.

Confused to how a block strainer will cause a sight glass to run like a river?

I can’t remember specifically what I said. But a blocked strainer won’t typically have a flashing sight glass too. From memory this unit was low, I think I was saying they show similar signs in terms of suction pressure and superheat. Not the flashing sight glass though. Potentially I just misspoke.
