Yes, whether it be Solar PV modules or wind energy, all that requires battery storage system. The energy obtained from Solar PV or wind can't be directly fed to loads or grid. It is refined using power regulators and stored in batteries. From batteries this power is then stepped up at an optimum voltage and fed to an inverter to change this DC power to AC as loads are mostly AC. In all these, not only batteries but semiconductors (IGBT, MOSFET, TRIAC, DIAC, INTEGRATED CHIPS etc.) has the key and central role to play

In US when the battery of EV is old then there is provision to use it as an energy storage system for home rooftop solar projects.
So we need to create and entire ecosystem where nothing is wasted.
Then only it will be true green energy
