Do you have and advice on how to learn to start cotton farming? I’m really starting to look into it. Although I come from a long line of farmers and most of my family is I grew up in Virginian Suburbs. Well the rest of my family is from Texas and Louisiana.
Ive probably asked this before but do yall do any alfalfa? Been thinking about trying it here but the investment seems steep for something im unsure of doing lol.

Depends on the type of cotton that you have short stubby cotton is better for strippers. And picker bales will actually grade better. And once it freezes really hard pickers start doing a worse job

Average 3.2 bales vs 4 bales(picker) in one round bale

Hey Conley, how many bales per acre did your cotton yield this year? Also, what will your cotton grade this year?
It will definitely grade better than last year but we averaged 1.8 bales an acre

Yea we don’t but we have also thought about it. It seems like it requires a lot of work and more manpower so that’s what is holding us back
