Thank you for all you do to show us, from start to finish all aspects of these fire's. Seeing that cat with it's thankful owner was a nice touch and made it all seem better. Praying for all who lost every thing and hope all other pets were saved too!
Great coverage yet again. Such a tragedy for all those affected but especially at this time of year. Thank you for following up and letting us know that kitty was rescued safely. That’s a Christmas blessing for sure…huge animal lover here!
Same here im a huge animal lover too BUT some of those evacuated from lower floors still have pets in there sadly and still dont know if they are ok or not as still waiting for the OK from fire dept to enter the building (im only going off news reports/ interviews i have seen on YT as im in the UK) so that MAY have changed since i posted this on 12/22/23 ....thoughts are with all those affected by this only a few days away from christmas ...those that had appartments on the 6th floor especialy as they have OBV lost everything in this tragic fire ...only plus side is NO one was killed... posessions can be replaced lives cant! so many BAD fires and the collapse of the appartment building happening at the moment in NY queens / bronx and from EVERY news report interview i see (as i say im from the uk so only get to see these on YT such as this channel) time and again with the news reports the residents often say things wrong and complaining and nothing done about it till disaster happens such as fire or collapse ! makes me sad to see this as OBV NY landlords of these appartment buildings care more about getting the rent in and not doing the esential upkeep of thes appartment blocks ...(I know a lot of houseing stock /appartment buildings in NY outside Manhatten are realy old and built in the1900's to the 20's and 30's) so are realy old and dont have the fire protection that modern buildings have and cost a fortune to upgrade them ect ...mean while thousands of residents could be living in a fire trap sadly without even knowing it!
Thank you again, John. When I first heard about this I knew you would be on it. Always excellent coverage of FDNY. Sorry to hear some people got hurt. Hopefully all will be okay. 🙏
Ugly one. Great coverage JJ and I also appreciate the explanations of procedures for those of us who aren't familiar with how these fires are attacked! I'm learning a lot from watching your videos. It makes me appreciate the job these guys are doing on a day to day basis even more! Absolutely heartbreaking seeing the animals dealing with this and clinging onto life😭😭😭 Edit: In tears right now seeing that Kitty was rescued!!! Thanks for following up on that. 🥰🥰
OMG me too! I was right there getting my phone replaced and I love cats so much! Like, in a crazy way where if one dies in a tv show or a book or something that just ends it for me. Made me hug my boy real tight.
Thank you John for exceptional coverage. This was some crazy fire. Exceptional work FDNY and EMS. You all are really the best! Blessings to first responders. Blessings to you John. Prayers to the injured and to all the people who lost their possessions and homes. Healing to the injured FDNY member who was injured. 🚒❤😔👍
1st. This one looks like a monster and yes , "JJ" is on the spot ! 👍👍👍 I can imagine him thinking "do I go back down to street level for the fire out the windows or do I stay up here for all the FDNY troops action" ??? Fifth alarm !!!
So very thankful the kitty was rescued, and in thae arms of his Daddy. For all displaced by that inferno, I pray they will all be ok. God bless you for your coverage John. God bless the NYFD too. ♥️
Academy Award video 📸 super job your filming perfect angles and detail. Awesome commentary..👍 Seen the news clips a fire fighter saved a kitty 🐈 from a window sill also family says cat saved there lives.. A lot of pets involved in this 🔥 prayers for victims so close to Christmas... FDNY 👍 all the members at this fire in the cold 🥶 God Bless...
Kudos to the FDNY members who rescued the cat! And to the cat, who kept it together enough not to jump, something many humans might not have managed. And, as always, JJ - great coverage!! PS: When are you going to appear on "Getting Salty"?
Hey JJ. Just wanted to let you know that ive been watching fire videos online since I was a teenager (over 15 years) and I can say you easily have the best ones especially since the addition of the radio communications
WELL, THAT MEANS A LOT TO ME TO HEAR.....I AM SO GLAD YOU ENJOY MY VIDEOS AND CHANNEL NICHOLAS.....THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE KIND WORDS, THE SUPPORT AND OF COURSE MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR MY FRIEND.....
JJ, do you *ever* sleep? 😮 Phenomenal coverage of this fire! Thank you again! The FDNY really *rock* at what they do! Amidst all the confusion, chaos, noise, debris, etc., they managed to find and save that poor, soggy cat! It's bad enough to lose everything else that you own, but in the end, it's just stuff. It can be replaced. But losing a pet is like losing a human member of the family. They can't be replaced. They are never "just a cat, dog, etc.". I was so relieved to hear that the cat was safe. My heart and prayers go out to all of those residents who've just had such a terrible thing happen to them. 💕🙏🏻💕🙏🏻💕🙏🏻 Stay safe and warm!
😢watched this last night and for some reason, it hit me really hard! Not just the fire, that was really bad but when you showed that poor kitty! Oh boy, I was in tears 😭 and at the end, when you saw the cat and his owner! I was so relieved 😌! Great job! ❤
Its been a while since I have commented on one of your videos, but had to on this one. What a nightmare for firefighters. Not so for FDNY. Great job stopping what could have been a monster. Your masterful coverage makes it all make sence. Thanks and you and your family have a merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!!
WOW! FDNY must have been exhausted after this. Good job JJ getting the angles. I'm so happy the fur baby was saved. Such a tragedy for all who lost everything. 😪🙏
Great work as always. May God be with those effected. And John, may God bless you and keep you safe this holiday season and beyond. That goes for the entire FDNY and NYPD also.
WOW John you did an awesome job on your coverage of this fire. God Bless the FDNY for the wonderful job all departments did. So wonderful they got the kitty...🎄🤗🤗
My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected or lost their homes in this incident, there's never a good time but especially around Christmas. But no matter how awful these situations are, it's humbling to see so many who are willing to help.
Great coverage, FDNY had their hands full. Bad time for those people to lose their homes. prayers for them all. It was amazing that no one died in this incident. Prayers for those who were injured. Good work by FDNY. Stay safe
great coverage John what a tough fire for FDNY to extinguish! a good plus was your feet did not get wet…hooray! and the kitty was saved was a happy ending. what happens to a building that had such a bad fire? thanks again John hope you had some good food.
great vid as usual! I'm so glad no one was killed in this fire as it spread pretty quick by the sounds of it , i feel so sorry for the residents just a few days from christmas who had to evacuate especialy the ones who had apprtments on the 6th floor as they will of lost everything sadly....others lower down are still in limbo as to if and when they can return to get belongings ect as the building has been deemed strcturaly unsafe ....thinking also of the 14 poeple that were injured and the fire fighter too who is in hospital in a serious but stable condition .... hope they are all ok and pull through ..this fire COULD have been so much worse than it was with casualties thank god most folks got out quick!
With all the advances in digital radios is amazing to hear the poor quality of the FDNY system. I wonder if they are still on analog using the old Harris radios.
Spectacular video and great coverage, JJ! I am a total amateur and am a great booster ofthe FDNy! There is none better than the FDNY. But there seems to be a lethargic approach! There seems to be a need for a lot more water from the get-go.. Forgive me, I have no creentials to be a critic but something seems out of kilter. I hope all the members are safe and that all those poor people who have lost heir homes at this time of year receive the help they need. I just don't feel there is a complete understandng of the situation.
Great video. Be careful with the smoke and take care of your lungs, stay safe. I have no words to thank you for your work. I wish you the best and have a Merry Christmas
Skyler is filmed from the Basement and You make it from the Roof !!! Great Job as always from Both of you !!! So Sadness much People's lost All so closed for Christmas Day !!! Many People's wes injured hopefully they get well soon !!! Always take care and stay safe J.J MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND TO ALL F . D . N .Y FIREFIGHTERS
J J. You Present Fantastic Videos, Of These Catastrophic, Multiple Dwelling Fires 🔥 🚒🇺🇲, Documenting The Bravest Heroic Actions. And The Tragic Losses, To New Yorkers. You Are Not Satiating The Average Person, Who Wants To Know The Point Of Ignition, And The Causative Factors, Of These Fires. 🔥You Know This Will Enhance Your Standings, If You Do A Follow-Up And Explain It To New Yorkers, 🗽 Capeesh, 👌🏼
I live 3 blocks from where this happened. I went up on my roof to see it, the flames were just shooting up from that roof. I believe that the cause of the fire was a workman using a torch, which is illegal, to remove paint from the hall in a vacant apartment. Geez what a mess, so many people lost their homes because of a fool. I believe the contractor and landlord are in big trouble.
This fire was angry and mean he had a lot of fight in him but great coverage again and great work by the members glad that the cat made it I guess they do have nine lives but these buildings that are shaped differently and it gets into the cockloft it’s game over but excellent job by the members of the FDNY 2N2 my friend. 1:38:07
Fantastic coverage, as usual. Inquiring minds want to know have you ever stopped into a restaurant near a fire your covering and grabbed some food? I'd guess you know of a lot of places to eat because of your travels.
Another job well done by the FDNY's # videographer. If I want to know what the true story is about a fire in NY it is you I know I will get it. I love the roof top angles. More often than not it's the best place to see the Members working and it was very true of this video. Thankfully everyone was safe including the cat. And, kudos to the Engine 40 member for taking care of our main man! Stay safe John!Thank you for all your efforts. Better than any News cameramen out there! 🚒🇺🇸
This entire building is a total lost. So sad for so many families that will have to be relocated and have nothing to salvage from the devastation of this fire. May God Bless the victims and families affected by this tragedy. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🫶🏾
This was definitely a large fire. I have to imagine it's a little disheartening to the members when the fire jumps the trench. I'm glad they got that cat down it was absolutely miserable. Did you ever hear the mechanism of injury for the one member who was injured? Once again another great video with great choice in angles, and radio comms so we can all learn and see the unique difficulties a lot of these H and E shaped buildings present.
My niece lives in that building, luckily all are OK. Thank you to the FDNY for all you do.
Praying for your niece and all others affected by this inferno. Please tell her that we care!

so many BAD fires and the collapse of the appartment building happening at the moment in NY queens / bronx and from EVERY news report interview i see (as i say im from the uk so only get to see these on YT such as this channel) time and again with the news reports the residents often say things wrong and complaining and nothing done about it till disaster happens such as fire or collapse !
makes me sad to see this as OBV NY landlords of these appartment buildings care more about getting the rent in and not doing the esential upkeep of thes appartment blocks ...(I know a lot of houseing stock /appartment buildings in NY outside Manhatten are realy old and built in the1900's to the 20's and 30's) so are realy old and dont have the fire protection that modern buildings have and cost a fortune to upgrade them ect ...mean while thousands of residents could be living in a fire trap sadly without even knowing it!
Lol😂
i love listening to these guys. everyone knows what to do, there's no yelling and screaming. total pros.
So glad for the update on the cat. Praying for all the residents.

Always right on it my man. Best video guy in NY. As far as I’m concerned anyway.
❤ All working hard. THANK YOU. 😢
So from what I understand a trench cut is like cutting line in a brush fire, thats cool, yet to do either
Very nice! Cheers

Great video John.

Great stuff John
I get frustrated when the buckets make a difference and the chef pulls them off an area and the fired spreads.
This was definitely a large fire. I have to imagine it's a little disheartening to the members when the fire jumps the trench. I'm glad they got that cat down it was absolutely miserable. Dude, I gotta get up that way and meet up. Buy you a beer or 3. Great video as always. Wish we had someone around our area that videoed while we work.
