Hi Chris! I have a green Wasp just like the one you showed here. I’m new and learning. I completely cleaned and put on a new sac. It’s so exciting to see yours right there! Thanks for all the great tips.
Great to see your improved lighting and production (editing, close ups, labeling, screen shots, etc.) in the new videos compared to this blast from the past. Still always love seeing vintage pens.
Chris !! Another great video and thanks for posting ! When the credits ran i noticed the Episode 59 !! Your about to hit the big six O ! Can't believe its been that many !! You should be pretty proud and I'm glad to be along for the trip since episode 1 !! Keep it up your provide some very special info in all these and I've learned a ton from you !
+A Red Falcon I am proud. This has exceeded my expectations. Thank you. I have had lots of encouragement. Haven't thought about what to do for #60. Suggestions?
Not how a pen is used. All depends on the nib. Bouncy means a soft nib. Many vintage pens from the early 1900s have soft nibs. I find Waternman's have more softer nibs.
You can do it! Requires patience & some skill. I learned the old fashioned way, trial error. Now we have RUclips to get us a long way. Thanks for watching.
@@chrisrap52 Do you think it's possible to do with 1 hand? I usually can figure out a way to do most things, but tapping out a nib is looking challenging right now.
Where would be a place to find cheap vintage pen that are in writing condition? Any time I look on eBay I don't find much luck unfortunately. Is there a specific search string I should use? Normally I just type in "Vintage fountain pen."
+gunshyking I go to Fountain Pens - Waterman & sort on lowest price. There are many under $50. Most of them will require some restoring, usually a bladder. Restored ready to write usually over $50. Should be able to find some ones under $100.Collectibles>Pens & Writing Instruments>Pens>Fountain Pens>Waterman

Glad I could help! You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
I like the Coxley and he Conway Stewart pens. Quite nice. Never heard of Tiger, either.
This has to be the earliest video I have seen from you.
My first video was Pilot Petit 1.

i have a question about vintage pens, are there certain brands with bouncy nibs, or does it depend on how used a pen is?

Wish I had your tools and restoration skills. :) Got a few pens recently that need a bit of TLC.

Everything is possible. Depends on effort that can be applied. Give it a try.
