- This video features the cocktail table pinball machine STAR TRIP made by Game Plan. Almost every pinball machine made in this table form was in 1978-1979. In 1987, 2 more were made by Gottlieb, and then never again. The issue was that people just didn;t like to SIT while playing pinball--plus if you had multiple players, each person would have to get up and the other sit down!
that was pretty cool and informative. Pretty cool idea, having cocktail pinball games.
I was an arcade freak as a tweener/teen in the late 70s and forward. In all the arcades I'd ever been in (hundreds) I only ever saw one of these cocktail pinball machines. I loved playing it but oh my gawd was it hard to get replays on compared to standard machines!!
I'd love to own one of these that you have. It looks like a lot of fun, though your playfield needs a reconditioning from what I saw.
There would be two possibilities...look at the top middle side of the machine and see if there is a key...that usually unlocks the glass and glass is lifted up from the top of the machine and off. The otehr possibility is a could of clasps similar to a video game inside the front door and reaching up. I did not see a Vegas so I am not sure. Todd
Great video! I have a 1978 Game Plan "vegas"
Have you ever heard or came across of a cocktail pinball called Rotation 8 before, because it's a really unique game from Bally that has a playfield tyat rotates in 4 directions so it can be easier for multiple players to play at once... it's quite rare.
I have seen a couple at pinball shows over the years...I think I did see one in the outdoor flea market of the York Show a few years back before I did the videos too...never played one.
Todd ... I have a camel lights cocktail pin where the play field lights up when powered on but no game play. MPU still has the battery on it but there's no corrosion (yet). Am I able to send in the MPU for repair/testing? Assuming you have a set up to test this with?
We have no GHame Plan setup anymore...as we rarely get these in..However, John's Jukes in Canada does repair those boards! Just do a google search!
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! I'll contact John
:-)
i need to rebuild the flipper on my star trip. what brand parts do you recommend? and where would i get them? i likely need a new flipper bat, coil, link and plunger and maybe coil stop. will gottlieb parts work?
thats a tough one..try Pinball Resource in New York..possibly older Stern parts would work!
Ok ty tnt
it's odd i can't find any video's on you tube of the cocktail lady sharp shooter wonder if tnt ever came across them
