@@AlexGoesSailing Good to know. i'm actually planning on doing the inside flooring of my 37 Egg Harbor Sportyacht with it. $4000 for Seadeck just seems ludicrous.
@@AlexGoesSailing do you think it could be done if the eva wasn't previously stuck to the plywood? I can't remove the floors in mine. The router must go thru that eva foam rather easily? Maybe if I can find a way to lay it on a random piece of plywood and secure it with clamps or weight it would work🤷
Looks really good. Next time you need to mark a circle or semicircle don’t forget about pencil and string trick. I love the router idea for a smooth cut, but would probably put another 1-2 coats of epoxy on the edges including the beveled edge of the fake teak. Could help keep the teak from pulling up on the edges and also help seal the ply from water intrusion.
lovely job well done ,i think i,ll be getting some of this ,i v used something similar to this on exterior cockpit and seating i would use a heat gun on the sticky side light heat as your laying to soften the adhesive get a better grip ,old boats need so much work but worth it for the fun
Just ordered this stuff in a lite gray for my aluminum john boat seats going to work onit this weekend ....awesome stuff also planning on using in my 20' salt water fishing boat for the flooring will be much nicer than the carpet i tossed in it years ago as a quick fix
@@fishingnorthwales976 it’s like a yoga mat kind of foam so you just have to know to be careful. I have been on it in shoes and anchors on it and it’s been fine and very easy to clean with a brush and water.
Looks great Alex. Especially like the chamfer on the edges, looks very professional. Andy UK

@@way2manyhobbies yeah very expensive!
Great job! I never thought about routing the square cut edge. Looks great.
It makes it look much better and prevents extra wear at the edge!

@@201francois that is a tricky one! I did think about it and it might be worth a try!

Mark Rickel Thanks for watching!
Seen quite a few hack job installations on RUclips but yours is the nicest. love the chamfer. You sold me on doing my own boat now.
Thanks! It’s holding up well after a full season of abuse so I definitely recommend it!
Great job nice
can you router metal hatches i like that bevel look and what bid did you use
good video but the sound is all over the place. the music is to loud and its hard to here what you say sometimes!
I've been pondering what to do with the salon floor of my Morgan. Good video.
Thanks! It’s great stuff.

that should look quite nice! hope it goes well for you!
Hello. It worked out well. How do you like this coverage after 2 years? What does it look like? How fast does it dry out after rain?
It’s worked really well and has held up well. The cat got to it and messed up a bit of it. It’s dries very fast and stays clean.
Brilliant great for Camper Vans too
It’s great stuff!
Great job, the router was the business!
Fair Weather Sailors It definitely made it easy!
how did you do the chamfer? Nice job by the way, cheers Tim
Just with a router. Thanks for watching!
Great job!!!
Nicely done.
Thanks!
Alex, Do you have “Alex Goes Sailing” merchandise?
I don’t at the moment. What do you think I should make?
Tee shirts would be great. Sailboat line drawing with logo etc
How's it holding up? I just order a roll to play around with
Holding up very well still!
meraki..(μεράκι)is Greek word...and mean passionate quality and beautiful work...
Hello, good job as usualy, where did you buy the EVA ? thanks :)
Pierre Jaraud Off amazon for reasonably cheap. just get the 3M backed stuff! Thanks for watching.
@@AlexGoesSailing I should not thaught about the 3M ! thanks for the trick :)
Which make and model router is that Alex?
Just the cheapest from screwfix. Anything will do really!
How's it wearing Alex? Have you used any on the deck at all??
Yeah still holding up well. Yeah it’s in the cockpit and inside!
Hi I'm looking for cheoy Lee ketch 45 to 53 project is okay to if you know any please let me know thanks 👍🙏.
Good choice of boat!
Looks awesome!are you planing to set up the same in the cockpit floor??
Alvaro Martinez yeah will put that at the beginning of the next episode!
How do you think it will do in the sun? Id like to cover my topside do they offer curved strips?
Brian Nilson they apparently do well in the sun but i don’t think they do strips.
I would probably look into the stuff Amel uses for exterior work.
Is this the light brown or dark brown version ?
Mine said golden with black stripes. Definitely wouldn’t say it was a dark brown.
How has it held up?
Very well! Would recommend!
Maybe take a roller and paint the edges black.
What for? You can’t see the sides when the boards are down.
@@AlexGoesSailing well, I see them clearly in the video while all panels are down.
@@AlexGoesSailing See aprox 9:17 and later.
@@wimbraber944 I never really noticed it. Might paint them one day. Have plenty of projects to crack on with!
Han tog put it on a plywood sheet? Or do you need too paint it or any thing?
Can you *
I would definitely say paint it as I think it would struggle overtime with sticking. Currently it’s still perfect inside Meraki and I painted!
@@AlexGoesSailing what paint? Regular pait you have at home or some water resistant
@@ludvigdahlberg6982 I used a 2 part paint but anything that will survive on a boat will work. Like any typical bilge paint will do!
@@AlexGoesSailing okay thank you so much. It gives the bouat such a lift
How has it weathered ?
Has done really well. Basically can’t tell the difference from new.
Very Fancy ..!!!
Zeb Almost like a real boat hahah
Het good job! Does it last long?
Yeah it’s still looks good 2 years later!
It looks great, thanks for posting this :) The black grooves are quite deep, is it easy to clean?
Yeah really easy to clean. I use a brush or a hover. Either work well!
Looking for a good source for the 3M backed EVA foam. Anyone have good suppliers?
Got mine off Amazon!
Looking at doing the deck on my fishing boat would you recommend this?
yes definitely!
@@AlexGoesSailing not easy to rip then? Easy to clean?
@@fishingnorthwales976 it’s like a yoga mat kind of foam so you just have to know to be careful. I have been on it in shoes and anchors on it and it’s been fine and very easy to clean with a brush and water.
Do you know if it’s stick to aluminum?
I don't see why not!
What sort of paint did you use
All the white is 2part and the blue is interdeck
what brand did you buy from amazon?
No particular brand but it’s the one with 3M adhesive on the back. Definitely the best quality out of the lot form when I did my research!
Hi can you link the exact product you used?
The listing isn’t on Amazon anymore but as long as it has 3M glue on the back it will be good stuff.
Okay thank you
Seems as different from real teak as some foam product you can cut with scissors.
Works really well!
멋지네요
