Lightning To The Nations (The White Album) [Remastered 2021] is the ultimate version of this ultimate album, out via Silver Lining Music on 30th September 2022. The release features not only the original album from ¼ inch master tapes which Lars Ulrich helped Brian Tatler retrieve back in 1990, but also alternative mixes of classic cuts “Lightning To The Nations”, “The Prince”, “Sucking My Love”, “Am I Evil?” and “Sweet And Innocent” never publicly released (or heard) before. There is also brand-new cover artwork based on an idea Brian Tatler had, to show a character referred to as ‘The Lightning God’.
“In 1990 as a celebration of the tenth anniversary of the NWOBHM, Lars Ulrich and Geoff Barton compiled the double album ‘New Wave of British Heavy Metal ‘79 Revisited’ which came out on Phonogram Records. It was Lars who made it his business to track down wherever possible the original master tapes because all he had were the old, often scratched singles,” recalls Brian. “He told me that he would often call up members of the bands they wanted to feature on the album and the confused guy on the other end of the phone would assume it was wind-up. ‘Who? Lars Ulrich? From Metallica? Fuck off!’ When Lars called me, I explained that the original ¼ inch masters for ‘Lightning To The Nations’ hadn’t been seen since they were sent by our old manager to a guy called Horgi at Woolfe Records years back. Apparently Horgi didn’t return the tapes, so Lars dispatched someone from Metallica’s German label to pay the guy a visit… The tapes were duly returned and after Phonogram had finished with them, Lars made sure they came home to me. I still have them stored safely.”
The original tapes were first quite literally baked (a process which allows degraded tape to be returned to playable quality), then restored and digitized before Diamond Head frontman Rasmus ‘Ras’ Bom Andersen remastered the tracks, ending up with a pristine edition of the original recordings and the recently discovered alternative mixes. Pure treasure for all fans of both Diamond Head and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the restored masters are supplemented by a set of bonus tracks originally recorded in 1980s. Rounding-out this ultimate edition are a set of deep and detailed notes on both the era and each song by Brian Tatler.
is available as a double CD, a deluxe 180 gms gatefold triple-vinyl edition containing the original album remastered, the lost mixes and the bonus tracks. The release is additionally available as a single vinyl edition of just the remastered album, also on 180 gms. Also, the complete recordings are available to stream and download. Buy and stream the release: lnk.to/Lightni...

This is nature's most valuable heavy metal. High quality goods, thanks for sharing.
YES!!!!
The beginning of thrash!
This song sounds like it would be right at home on Black Sabbath's Sabotage album.
The riff was inspired by that album said Brian himself, and I’m pretty sure the tone is also based on Iommi’s tone on Sabotage
Except this song is good 😉
Absolutely! But a little better
I've been waiting so long for this! Thank you so much for giving us this absolute gem and remastering it! Absolute legends.
This is real British Metal 🎸🎸🎸
Damned right ✅️ and the original keep your paws of it Metallica and any other DH and Budgie songs lol
Well, yes, they are British, after all. Rather thought that was obvious.
Sheffield steel that’s British Steel👍🏻
Britain invaded the US three times and changed the musical world forever. I couldn't imagine a world without The Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Budgie, Maiden, Priest, DH etc ...
We may have invented rock n'roll but the British perfected it.

Child of its time
What a gift !!! Pure gold 🤘🤘🤘
Stand up if you're Evil !!!🖤

I love this song, this band, this album. This is my favorite piece of music. This song and LTTN title track. Tatler is the only one who beat Schenker's Rock Bottom solo! THIS is my favorite solo!
Absolute gold .... the new re issue remaster will sound stella . 🤘
Best Diamond Head Song Ever!!!🎧💪🤘🎤🎸🥁😎🖤
I don't care if you only like power metal, if you only glam or black, or if you only like gumpcore, you have to love and respect Diamond Head (or at least love and tolerate them).
@camerondodge. It’s not just metal categories. I’ve been into funk and soul recently and this is just universally great.
Thank you for uploading this love you guys🤘
It doesn't matter if you like Black, Thrash or even Death. Every time this song plays, you want to bang your head. A heavy classic.
A million %
Just to remember things, where do you think Celtic Frost 's Dethroned Emperor comes from ?
Even Napalm Death had that riff on the first album
@@Nissardpertugiu You're right, I hadn't noticed the riff similarity in Dethroned Emperor. It's almost the same riff but slowed down.
@@Nissardpertugiu And I also think that the drumming in the song "Helpless" is an inspiration for the hardcore and grindcore bands that came later.
@@BloodyArmourKnight Its also a process its a Deep Purple thing, that got also in few Sabbath stuff , Budgie too, that inspired both metal and punk stuff in their greasy roots and first similar attitude.
The intro of Keepin' time by Trapeze is quite brutal, especially for 1972.
The Sweet had stuff like that, as an obscure band called BLAST in 1974, and a german band called Nightsun in 1972 very extreme for the time.
Then in parralel then you had Triumph that was quite agressive back in 1975-1977 and The Ramones that popped up.
Influenced by Purple, Toys in the Attic and Rats in the Cellar by Aerosmith had that style too.
And the Purple family had intensified the formula with Rainbow, Gillan solo stuff and even early Whitesnake had that in some songs, even more live : Take me with you, Don't mess with me, Mean Business and She's a Woman or Hot stuff.
There s elements, even though people don't think of that when you say whitesnake.
Of course i would think the biggest architect for that, even influencing hardcore stuff from early 80's and all, including the nwobhm stuff is Judas Priest.
Tyrant, Call for the Priest, Exciter, Rapid Fire and so on.
Beside you had Motörhead after that, Riot too in 1977 already, and Pat Travers and some bands you don't expect that contributed to that in stepping stones.
Hammerhead .
It was so rich in the genesis.
Queen " Stone cold crazy" ...
Infamously.
Even Scorpions, " Another Piece of meat "...they rocked super hard then.
Of course all of that crept in some nwobhm.
Diamond head, is one of them with Helpless, also with the guitar sound i would say, its hardcore to me too.
Take me as your leader by Samson ( after Bruce and stuff say today " Oh no punk", my ass) some Maiden stuff both with Paul and Clive who had a big role in that.
Angel Witch from his 1978 demo onwards had some thrash even proto black metal sounds in it.
By the way a lot of what Hellhammer and Celtic Frost owes also to Angel Witch.
Even Saxon, Motorcycle man, 200,00 feet, this town owns rock, this is face melting..
You had the dark stuff, Holocaust.
Then kind of the turning point one step above in thoses beats, Raven, then the godfather Venom.
hi from Ukraine💛💙 thanks people who help!
A timeless masterpiece.
Very Amazing 🔥, I like it 🤘
Long love the diamond head!! 🤘🤘
a version a bit dry tune but still is one of the best heavy metal songs 🤟🤟🤟🤟
The lightning demon thing vibing to their music is awesome
Power metal in 1979!
Is Heavy Metal
Cheers from Oklahoma! Great tunes!
As much as I mostly listen to doom, drone, avant-garde metal and the like, there is nothing like the original...heavy metal.
Good stuff.
Nothing beats original.
Stourbridge's finest🇬🇧
Já comprei o meu!
Dope dude! Real Heavy fu#kin Metal!!!
I love every single song of this album, fkn awesome
🤘
Mars, Bringer of War....
This is one of the worst remasters I have ever heard. I'm not much of a music snob, normally I don't even notice, but that is rancid audio quality. The previous remaster was so much better.
Diamondhead Rule British Metal🤘🤘🤘
Great Band Great Sound Criminally Underrated
⚡🔥🥁🎤🎸⚡🔥🥁🎤🎸🔥⚡🥁🎤🎸👊😎🤘
I don’t think is an underrated song when the big 4 bands of thrash metal played it at the same time in stage!
very nice the Deep Purple section
Heard this when i was abt 19 and i think it sounds even better now at 60 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Release the original unadulterated mix of this album again. These remasters sound like absolute shit ruining an otherwise perfect album. It's terrible you guys went the Mustaine and George Lucas route by making the orginal versions unavailable. At least Mustaine listened to his fans to where his original albums are available again to where the fan gets to choose what they like more. At least give us the option that's all I'm asking, thank you.
why is this like..... 8 % faster
Hell yeah, awesome remaster. but, I must go... Brutal Legend is calling me. XD
If 99 problems was written in the fallout universe
Too many versions out ! In my opinion, the 2016 HNE rules
Yes
Innovators!
🤘💀🤘
This song kicks so much ass. I love this band!
YES ITS TRUE I AM SO FUCKING EVIL ?
Early days...... excellent
Sean Harris for ever...
One of the best true heavy metal songs of all time
i absolutly love this song !!!!!!!!! i met Brian Tatler in the pit at the metallica gig at the Etihad stadium and a nicer guy you would never meet !!!! keep em comin guys? |m/
not as classics as the one originally sang by sean harris
Who s singing so here ?
🍺
Diamond Head invented thrash metal!
Iommi did it first. Symptom of the Universe
@@BSIIIit was a process, Speed King and Flight of the rat along Hard Lovin Man and Fireball by Deep Purple are the originators.
Sabbath was more doomy until incorporating more percussive stuff by 1971-1976.
@@Nissardpertugiu they were definitely pioneers, yes. But Am I Evil is completely influenced by Sabbath's Title Track, Under The Sun, and Symptom of the Universe.
@@BSIII Yeah thats true also
if harris /tatler wanna comment i will believe
ruclips.net/video/6JX9PdWyoqY/видео.html
Brian Talks all about the the release with Metal talk, seems it was his idea.
they dont comment to us prob record label remastered band not involved at all
It's much better played by METALLICA instead of this hardly HARD ROCK music by DIAMONDHEAD!!
@@Your_Landlordliterally, Diamond Head rock forever!!
It sounds better when METALLICA plays this!!
I like the diamond head version more, I think it has better vocals
Both are good.
