Haha! I've been wishing an official Rahdo Runthrough for this game and it's finally here! Thank you very much, Richard. I own Agricola and several expansions and card add-ins, but I'm finding I don't care much for the game anymore. It's not because of the theme, but it's just a bear to set up and I think the whole "I-took-the-spot-therefore-you-can-not" mechanism is a bit obsolete versus newer games who use worker placement in more adventurous ways (such as Euphoria). Walnut Grove appeared to be a good stylistic option for me.
Yay! Being waiting for this run through. I bought WalnutGroove right after you introduced it on your shelf run through. Had to search high and low for it. It was hard to find. But I finally found it! Glad I did! Thanks Richard!
Thanks for the run through! Loved it so much that I searched the same day for someone local selling the copy, and bought it that evening. Can't wait for it to hit the table.
Thank you good sir for helping me find a path through this crazy, wonderful and underrated djungle of board games. I very much enjoy your runhroughs and in this one I found yet another game to my wishlist! Just bought It happens and Biblios. Looking forward to their arrival! Best regards!
At 12:20... have I spotted the first ever Rahdo "goof that wasn't"? This is one of the most ambiguously worded rules I've ever seen, but there's an FAQ that makes it clear... starting from the town hall and travelling clockwise, whoever is furthest round the track (i.e. the pawn who's got fewest steps to travel before they make it to town hall) gets to move first. So I think you had this one right all along!
Thanks for the review, just need to confirm about the action, you can do 1 buying action and 1 selling action in the fall? How many actions we can do in the fall in total?
@@rahdo thank you so much! Makes sense, I scoured the rulebook but couldn't find that rule 😄 luckily we did play that way and had a blast, such a phenomenal game.

I think that's what I meant but maybe it's confusing and will remove the note :p
Old West or Western themed games are usually good imho

just picked up a mint copy, so excited to pay this with my wife!
Do you need to provide firewood for you black worker or food?
the black pawn is you, and you live in the main cabin, so you don't need to be provided food or water during winter :)
