- in todays video I'm using a Hot Toys Mandalorian figure to create a professional poster for the series 3rd season! How hard is it to make an action figure look realistic? Is it possible at all? And most importantly, can we beat Disney at their designs? I'm showing you step by step what I did and what the results are.

He has a pretty good income with the youtube channel plus priceless time and freedom. In his shoes I would never trade that for a company job but I agree that he would do a much better work than what we usually see.

The fact that you made this out of just a TOY is just AMAZING. The team over at Star Wars legit have real high quality photos from the show and basically everything they need. And you make better posters than them in your own way... It's fantastic. They should rly hire you!!!

ok but to be fair this is a huge highly detailed toy though, so it was fairly easy to make this composition

Suprised the toy looked so real in the finished product, the cape, and everything amazing detailed toy… But when so it’s still a toy, and he made a better poster than they did (in a way thoo) when they had every shot, everything they needed to get that poster… so it’s sooo mindblowing that a solo guy beats a whole team with a single toy and his experience/skills!

@@adriannn1180 these toys are used all the time by people not realizing that they’re toys, it’s really funny. The official rise of skywalker poster actually used the Rotj palpatine toy and I never saw it before someone pointed it out
can i just say... did you just brush passed the fact that you painted accurate subsurface scattering on grogu's ears (6:26)? Top notch attention to detail. Incredible.
Ahah I saw this too and was surprised he didn’t make note of it. Love this. And this is why having some background in 3D illustration and an understanding of rendering techniques can help your photoshop skills.
These posters are genuinely amazing. I think the results are way more obvious when you make your own design rather than improving the original poster. Yours is definitely better!

He’s right. I’m working on a digitally painted Mando in Photoshop and the metal has presented the biggest challenge.

I like the first poster without people more than I like the with people I have to say. Wonderful what you made with just a toy! But to be honest, you said the last is more of a concept poster, but it's my favorite from this video. I love the vibe it gives of. I would like to see more of your "toy-photography" edit work. Could be really interesting to see.

I was happy to hear you mention how you had to brighten Mando since it’s a poster. The word realistic gets thrown around so much these days but as artists, we always have to remember what we’re making and what it is for. You always want the subjects to be easy to see on Key Art.

Seriously. This is my favorite Mandalorian poster I have ever seen (though I don’t much care for the version with the extra characters). And your second one is also amazing. Honestly, I can’t decide which I want on my wall more. (Both, definitely both.)
I personally love the green/orange/yellow colors together, and your lighting effects and composition enhanced that color palette to the max. Bravissimo.

I enjoyed seeing that you went the extra mile to manually add all the highlights and the specular, it's not something post people would wanna touch as it can be really tedious. You'd make a fine rotoscoping artist !
