That Robert can take these iconic songs and mold them into who he is today and not who he was 50 years ago is a milestone in itself. Honoring his past without exploiting, living in or insulting it. Genius.
Allison Krause taught him how to sing this way ....he even said so one time.Hes been doing it like this every since he made those records with her that won all the Grammys
I absolutely Love the original Led Zeppelin version But I think this is great in its own right the rockabilly element is fabulous Robert & Imelda have amazing singing chemistry Jools piano playing is out of this world. The Band is just brilliant. It really really works
Sounds excellent! Believe it or not me and my wife were walking in the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville earlier this year and when I looked over there was Robert Plant walking in the mall by himself. I did a double take, smiled and nodded to him and he did the same..cool moment.
To see these 2 legends together is a Blessing! Robert Plant, the voice of Rock and Roll and the goddess of the voice, Imelda May, just puts me on the floor! WOW!!!
Very similar to the Jerry Lee Lewis's version with Jimmy Page in the album Last Man Standing (2006). I love the way Robert never forgets the rock and roll roots. A real icon, amazing singer and entertainer.
Big fan of the Plant-Krauss train, but i'll accept Imelda😅 Having Hawley and Plant on one stage was already good enough🙏. Lovely to see this legend still kicking ass!❤️
The drummer does a pretty good job opening this Zep classic! Great performances from Percy & Imelda, their vocals work really well together… so good to hear this terrific song live again!
Love Robert plant. The greatest singer ever. No one can come close to those golden pipes. LED Zeppelin has always been my favorite band and Robert my favorite man. Thanks for all the great music Robert!!
Fucking fantastic! A rockabilly version of Rock and Roll. I half expected Jerry Lee Lewis to rise from the dead and for Killer to kick over a piano bench.
It's sometimes easy to forget Led Zeppelin are a fairly small part of Robert Plant's 50+ year career. I'm a big fan of his music old and new, but it's good to hear the old classics with an updated twist.
Awesome performance by two of my favourites I’ve seen RP many times and he keeps reinventing himself and keeps it fresh and the voice is still so rich As for Imelda, such a talent and on my RUclips channel my video of her in Ipswich from a few years ago is now approaching half a million views. Whether she sings, acts or writes poetry she is a force of nature
Jools brings them all together. He is such a great Performer AND Presenter. Itˋs the best british Music Format today, no Question. His Sylvester Shows are legendary.
I wouldn’t have ever make your times so lonely again ROBERT MY LOVE SINCE an age 17 I, am age 63 everytime I see and hear you, light comes into my soul ! ❤❤❤❤❤
@Jeffery Roberts what I love about Plant is that he arranges classic Zep to suit his current vocal capabilities. I don’t feel like he’s constantly trying to recreate his vocal range or capabilities of 50 years ago. Wish more of his era recognized the power of such a game plan!

Just found this! I love the song and the way Robert sings it 50 years on is just superb with Imelda complimenting him so wonderfully. Fantastic band with the great Gilson Lavis laying it all down!
I love how Plant can't help himself but do a vocal back-up to the drum fill in the end of the songs :D I watched hundreds of shows with him after Led Zeppelin, and he do this all the time :D It feels like he do this out of respect to the song, like metalheads do headbanging. Like YOU HAVE TO DO IT, if you respect the song! :D He can sing pretty light the whole song, but when he hears drum fill in the end, he turns into the golden god and think "oh shit, I have to do it! Doesn't matter how old I am, I'm gonna nail it!" :D It also feels like if Plant will walk somewhere in the street and hears the drum fill in the end of the song, he goes "Oooooooohhhh, babyyyyy!!!" 😁
I've just found this and the brass made me think Showband.Would anybody else agree that Imelda would have been great fronting an Irish Showband back in the 60s I can imagine Imelda covering everything from Irish traditional songs through country and full tilt rock and roll! It would be great to see an album from Imelda and Robert. An album from them would be a perfect companion album to sit along side the Robert and Alison Krauss album
Hell Yeah!!!!!!! The Great Robert Plant!!!!!! I'm 70 still Rock n Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome Video!!!!!!!!
Same here. I have been following Imelda Maye for over 25 years. And Plant since 1970.

Same. I enjoyed this, glad they didn't copy page's solo, that would have been cringe.
Concerning Robert Plant, we can understand -him, but ...Melinda...is the worse thing that could happen to him!
@@henryglarsson2635 I totally agree, they did enough damage to Bonzo's drum intro.

The people who changed rock ‘n’ roll history, forever, Robert Plant, Jimmy, page, John Bonham, and John Paul Jones God bless your soul
This is Robert Plant having great fun and still showing a major amount of talent. He got the led out.
Saw many of Robert's duets with female singers... This one was the best by far!
I like some of RP's duets with Allison, but this just has incredible energy. I'd luv to hear RP and Imelda together on 29 Palms. 🎶💙🎶
Check out Imelda with Jeff Beck - they did a Les Paul tribute tour together. She was amazing [of course so was Jeff - RIP :( ].
The duet with Sandy Denny was the best.
Just my personal opinion !
Everybody has their own individual taste.
From a led zeppelin fan ilove this version of an old classic,it just works so well on every level.😍😍🎸🎸👏👏👏
My god, what a great version! Can't stop listening it over and over again... simply fantastic 😊
