I think "toxic masculinity" made😮 Colin say he would never court her in season 2. I don't think he really thought about it much, but when the boys he was around started to rib him about it, he just slipped into their mentality so he fit in.
I don't think he meant it the way people took it. If he had given into peer pressure and said something insulting about her to fit in, I feel like that would stay with him. He would feel guilt over it. But when Penelope brings it up, he doesn't even remember it. And when she cut him off immediately afterward, he spent the better part of a year wondering why, and it never even occurred to him that it might be because of this comment. He's always quick to assume the blame when those around him are upset, even when it isn't his fault. So the fact that he didn't even consider it when it really was his fault, tells me that he didn't mean it in the insulting way we all took it. I think in his mind, he was asked if they were courting and he said no. Period. To be fair, his wording was unnecessarily emphatic, but I think that comes down to him still being in denial about his feelings. He protests too much. I think it was a mistake (a hurtful one) because he can be kind of oblivious, rather than him giving into toxic masculinity.

I had to laugh at the I know you have watched the carriage scene more than 5 times cause yes I have I have rematches it so many that I can't count on one hand and same goes for their first sex scene cause those 2 scenes were hot as their chemistry is off the charts!!

After watching part 2, I loved their first time scene. It’s beautiful and Nic looks like a goddess. The other aspects are a bit underwhelming though. I preferred the book. I will rewatch tomorrow though 🤭
I agree - I was actually underwhelmed by the entire 2nd half of the season tbh (except the Peneloise bits). Is it just me or did the chemistry just disappear? I've actually watched this video more times than I've rewatched the 2nd half episodes because I was disappointed.

He had a right to be angry. Not to mention it’s not a Bridgerton season without a couple working thru a conflict. This was a MAJOR conflict guys lol. That was some of his best acting for me. That angry tear on his cheek broke me down. At least his anger was for like 1.5 episodes. Unlike Angry Anthony breathing in Kate’s face for damn near his entire season 😂

So in the book she was more restrained, that’s why he reacted better there.
