There are times when opponents hit those deeper shot and you will be in unbalanced situation. That time u don't have time for split step. You only can run and fight for it.
I disagree....... you should pasta a few hours before the match but no meats. You also forgot to mention stringing your racquet and changing your grip. You can't really control anything else because you don't know where your opponent will hit.
