In this video we take a look at 6 different locations, Kitsilano/Point Grey, Downtown Vancouver, Mount Pleasant, Kerrisdale, East Vancouver, and also Burnaby. I go over what each area is like, show what it looks like, and also explain what the average rent for a 1 BEDROOM APARTMENT goes for in each area specifically. This Video took A LONG TIME, as you can imagine. I would greatly appreciate a THUMBS UP, a SUBSCRIBE, and also a COMMENT if you have a second !
A lot of my followers here on RUclips are people who are interested in moving to Vancouver, AND I am listening!! Many people ask which area they should move to in the city depending on their xyz... and I can't always answer every person back individually. That is why I have decided to create this video. AND ON TOP of this video, I will be creating Guides about moving to Vancouver that people will be able to download depending on whichever type of person they are. I'm excited for this guide to release early October!
There are several great areas in Vancouver, and none really BAD at all. Are some places better than others though? YES.
A lot of people ask me things like; Should I move to Vancouver? Is Vancouver expensive? How much does it cost to live in Vancouver? Does it rain a lot in Vancouver? Is Vancouver a good place to live? etc...
Check out my channel for answers to those questions in my other videos!
If you are someone looking to find out more "insider knowledge" from someone who lives in Vancouver, make sure to Subscribe as I have a Vancouver based video every week or so !!
I'd appreciate any support on this video as it was a real time investment, and I'm happy with how it turned out~

If you’re reading this, you have the potential to create great things. Yes. YOU.
True. But it also means you probs can’t afford a cucumber in Coover. X
@@staycasual7203 I'd do anything to get a cucumber from Vancouver.
Lyric Venom we all would bro, we all would..
Awww so sweet, thank you!
Thanks
I'm Brazilian and i'm not going to move to Vancouver, but I really like to see how different things are abroad 😊
I do the same thing ! 😂
Very cheap Langley. Cheap Surrey, East Vancouver New Westminster. Middle range Coquitlam. Upper middle Burnaby more expensive Richmond. Most expensive downtown Vancouver, west Vancouver and North Vancouver. Most exciting for tourist probably downtown and north Vancouver
I'm brazilian as well and I've been to Toronto
I’m also from Brazil and planning going to Vancouver to study,it’s quite a complicated procedure but I’ll try to make it
I think the one problem people run into when thinking about moving to Vancouver is $$$
haha Well I can't fight with you on that 😂
@@AdamJBell I’m heading to Vancouver in August, and have certainly had cold feet while making the decision (at various different points), but it’s getting to a point now where the cost of living isn’t actually all that different than the rest of the country; with a few notable exceptions like Calgary. Looking forward to the move. Keep up the good work :) I appreciate all the information you’re slingin.
I'm Japanese and im moving to Vancouver in October! This video is really helpful for me!!
Glad I could help! Hope all went well with the move 🙌😄
Great video so thank you for making it! I have lived in BC for over 50 years and I learned more about Vancouver in this one video than I have in a long while...keep up the great job.

The answer is: The Island. 😸
What about surrey? Gang gang
Couples sounds promising; but the real curve ball is couples with a single-pet , although I think there might have been a move in legislation recently regarding this.
@@Thomas-qg7fe Yes moving with a pet can be troublesome it's true!
Thank you! Good scenery around the lower mainland. Much appreciation for the rental estimates.
Love your perspective! We need to move to Vancouver for my husband's work. Would love to see a home buyer video instead of rental. Really informative video! 👏 thanks!
Nicely put. Thanks Adam
I came here from fb group named - RUclips Channel and Video Promotion 😉
Really interesting video! good way to explin diffirent places of Vancouver in terms of renting places.
Hey Adam, thank you so much for the video! Kitsilano looks cool :)

Hey Adam, this is extremely helpful, thank you for putting in the extra mile in making this video! Especially the rent, neighborhood vibe and commute time to downtown were most important. I'm psyched that you're releasing a guide for students 😁 Cheers!
Awesome, glad to hear the videos are helpful :) I wanted to give info on the things I would want to know I were moving here !

Thank you for your efforts Adam. It helped a lot.
love the way u explained
Appreciate your efforts, Adam. I have myself had the trouble of going to different locations in Melbourne to look for housing, can understand the efforts put in this!
The most helpful vid🔥♥️
Great videos Adam!
Great video! My neighbourhood wasn't mentioned, but it's very similar to Kerrisdale. I went to kits, mount pleasant and kerrisdale today!
Kitsilano/Point Grey! I live there since 2008. Moving to Vancouver is a lot of decision making. I used to live in Calgary and I started my life there as an immigrant. Calgary has given me so many opportunities. There's so many challenges along the way but those experiences would make me a stronger and better person. I was already established myself in 2008 in Calgary. I recently purchased a brand new condo. in downtown Calgary then all my close friends decided to move from Calgary to other places. That's how I made a decision to move to Vancouver. I traded my 2 bedroom condo. from Calgary to a studio in Kitsilano, Vancouver. That's how the transition and a life trade that I have to do. No regrets.
Very helpful Adam! Thank you so much :)
Kitsilano is my favourite area in Vancouver too! I like the mix of tranquility from residences and vibrancy from beaches, coffee shops and small shops.
🙌Yes! Exactly such a great mix
Two things Adam, First of all, I love the vibe of Gastown, so i see why you like to spend time there and Second, I love those rim horned glasses you have on in the video. Great Choice!!! Thank you for another amazing and knowledgeable video. I look forward to your next one!!
I swear god sent you to help me move to Vancouver !
thank you my friend
Fact
Same xdd
very informative! kudos to the efforts!
Great video, the map really helped. Thanks again!
Glad to here!
Thx for the support 🙌
This video made me subscribe to your channel! Great vid and will be moving to Vancouver this august, looking forward to it!
Hi Adam, I'm loving the vids! I live in California right now but I'm strongly considering moving to the Vancouver area for work. I've been doing the research on what it will take to move to Canada and I'm feeling so excited. Thanks for all the informative vids!
- Joe
Glad to help you take the steps ! Good luck on the journey Joe
I would say you shouldn’t because the people are unfriendly and it’s ridiculously expensive, but idk how much different it is in California.
@@Ashley-cr4ow thanks for the feedback! it's insanely expensive here in California too haha. as it turns out, I don't think I'll be moving to Canada anyways.
@@rocksteady31 yeah the problem is it’s expensive but also a lonely city. There’s nothing exciting about it. That’s why I want to leave. Lived in the burbs of van my whole life.
Helpful video, I am thinking about moving in Canada , Vancouver and had zero idea about the different area , thanks a lot
it's obvious you are making progress man , keep it up
thank you armin I appreciate it 🙌
This is a great guide for people not familiar with the areas of Vancouver and what they should look out for
Exactly the value I was trying to provide !
very informative and enlightening. Thank you.
Good video! Being born and raised in “east” Vancouver I would have probably elaborated on a few more areas instead of just generalizing. Commercial, main, Champlain heights, Oakridge, Kingsway, Joyce, south Vancouver etc. All in or around east Vancouver but have their own pros and cons and differ from each other greatly. Especially when you compare avg rent from let’s say commercial to Champlain you’re likely looking at. 2-300$ difference!
Anyways after 24 years living in east van I made the move up to Surrey and have never been happier! Also a very viable option if you work down town especially in the new city centre area localized around the skytrain, sfu, kpu, surrey memorial and city hall. My door to Rogers arena is 39 minutes flat.
Thanks for the advice Alex, I may do that in episode 2!
Sounds like a good location!
@@AdamJBell Yeah! Great for myself.
I drive but it's nice to take the skytrain to metrotown etc and not have to deal with parking/traffic . My parents also live right by nanaimo station so sometimes I skytrain when i go to there place. It's nice to pop on some headphones and 22 minutes later be there for just $2.40.
My Fiance is a Nurse at Surrey Memorial as well and she walks to work which saves her on Parking $/Time. Majority of my building i'd say are people in the healthcare field.
Chaplain heights is mostly on leased land.
Best review ever 👍
Thanks for the helpful vids!!
concise and well made video. Subscribed!
thank you, much appreciated :)
This video was really helpful. Thanks!
Good to hear, glad I can help ! 💯
Hi Adam. There is an area east of Commercial Dr in East Vancouver called The East Village. There is a bus that goes downtown in 20 minutes and goes out to SFU College/ University. Coffee shops, diverse restaurants, a community centre and one of the best grocery stores in Vancouver with amazing produce etc at great prices! A nearby park and a friendly community atmosphere.
Great Information and helpful for anyone moving to Vancouver.
Thanks Rahat, glad you thought so!
Love the video, very informative ✊🏿
Thanks Rob! Glad you thought so 🙌
Amazing production quality for such a small channel
Been trying to go the extra mile! Thanks Duncan, appreciate it
So glad I found your channel. Hoping to move to Surrey in March.
Keep it up! 👏🏼

Great breakdown. Straight facts no BS. keep it up
That's how we like it haha.
Thanks Jon 💯
I just moved to van and I loved the video!
Awesome to hear ! Thanks :D
great video man thanks for doing this
Thanks :) Glad to help !!
Would love some info on North Vancouver. A similar video that covers different areas in N Vancouver would be awesome :)
Adam , you have to also give the opinion about the North Shore ok ? About West and North Vancouver ! I love to know what you think about because it’s part of Vancouver and really has a easy commute to the business centre ! And a amazing life style in the North Shore with the beauty of nature around you ! Thank you , I am looking forward to see some thing like that in the future!
Gotta love Burnaby
I agree and me too since 2001. Vancouver density is so high, streets are packed with cars and roads are narrow, construction everywhere. Burnaby offers a lot of space and encourages you to explore life outside Vancouver city proper. I hate driving and parking downtown now , but I am an old fart now, more suited to the suburbs.
I moved from Vancouver to Victoria and couldn't be happier! Vic has everything Van has, plus nicer people and better weather
Victoria is newLy wed and nearly dead city. I agree better than Vancouver. However to much government in Victoria (Provincial Government, all government jobs, and contractors, the Federal Navy base in Esquimalt, and Royal Rhodes college, along with UVic. Not much for industry since fishing, logging pretty much ended. Basically service jobs for government. Therefore expect little innovation, high tax, and never ending union inefficiency. Oak bay, Fairfield and North Saanich are nice (lived in all those locations). Still the many, meth heads and drug addicts isn’t resolved (this goes al way from Vancouver down to San Diego same issues). Overall Victoria nice temp from March-October.
Hey Amanda. How do you find the work opportunities in Vic? We are considering moving from TO to Vancover next year in summer. Thx
Thanks this was helpful!
Nice video, thank you so much 🙌
Good stuff Adam . I am moving to Vancouver in November . I watched all videos on your channel. They helped a lot! Let's be friends and chill lol I got no friends there
Loved the video. Great effort
Thanks Sachin, I have been trying to go the extra mile with the video production! 💯
Very informative. Thanks
Great video. I would have added Marpole and Commercial Drive to the list. Both are highly sought after due to being close to a sky train and in the case of Commercial drive it’s arguably the best street in all of Vancouver. I lived on the Drive for 5 years and absolutely loved it.
Great additions you are right !
Adam J Bell I’d like to see a Main st vs Commercial drive video. My partner and I argue about witch is better, she prefers Main and I favour Commercial.
thanks for sharing! see you soon!
Just signed a lease for a place in Kits...moving there in January, thanks for the vid :)
Very good my friend, keep up the good work
If you're interested in East Vancouver, I recommend searching up Trout Lake and Commercial Drive, two of the nicest community and cultural highlights of this side of town. Renfrew Ravine is also really cool.
Commercial Drive is all very hip but has a very low number of rental units and very few apartment buildings.
Awesome video! Liked and subscribed.
Great informative video 👍. Planning on moving to Vancouver soon.😊
Glad I was able to share some knowledge !
Thanks for your attention and efforts
This videos are very helpful thank you so much
Your videos are very helpful and well done. Thank you. Have been thinking about opening a branch office in Vancouver. I like Burnaby.
Thank you for the informations !
Glad to help! Will be making more videos about the city each week 👍
Easy answers for peeps: a) If you are a wealthy senior, pick Kerrisdale so you will be surrounded by the same class b) if you're a wealthy white hippie, pick Kitsilano c) if you are a broke ass hippie, then go for Mt. Pleasant d) if you got some $ and are young and single, pick Downtown e) if you love Asian food and don't mind seeing lots of Asians, then East Van or Burnaby (safer) f) if you were from China, you would probably wanna pick Kerrisdale, Point Grey, and pretty much all over Vancouver West + Metrotown Burnaby - trust me, this summary is pretty accurate!! AND if you don't have much $ to buy/rent in Greater Vancouver and don't mind seeing some rednecks, then by all means go for Maple Ridge, Langley, even Mission too!
Great vid Adam!! West ender, great hood.
Thanks Patrick, I hope to be over there my self within the next year! We'll see haha
Thankyou for this.
Really good channel. Thank you.
Nice guide! You need to make a Part 2 video about North Vancouver prices, West Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam - all the large satellites of Vancouver
Thanks :)
That was most likely the plan!! Will do 💯
This is super useful. Thanks
Glad to help :)
Working on more!
Thank you for your effort!
Nice videos Adam
Thanks for the helpful info. Can u make an update video concerning the prices 😅
I really like watching your videos ❤️ I live in Kerrisdale area btw 😄
Thanks Karan, I'll keep making them then 😂🙌
Thank you for your help bro
I’d like to see a video just like this , but for Richmond. Keep it up.
I'll do some research!
Thanks :D
Awesome bro 👍
Hey Adam, thanks for sharing this. Where do you think is the best place for cycling, out of all the places you listed?
My last visit to my Aunt in North Vancouver was in 2015...hopefully to come back soon..😊
