Dude I'm so glad you've done a review of this, I'm a huge Batman fan and grew up on the 89 movie. I saw this on ebay recently but wasn't sure whether to get it or not. I still really want the Hot Toys 89 Batman figure too but I'm gonna have to wait for the reissue version this year.

At first I saw face sculpt I didn't like it too much but when you showed the one from hot toys I ended up loving one from mars toys 😂😂😂

Hot Toys better step it up. Third party companies are getting more impressive every day. And their prices aren’t exorbitant like HT
Is the price gap mainly due to licensing fees? Does going the 3rd party route, prevent certain parties getting money that's due to them? Not asking hypothetically, but genuinely curious.
@@nonametofame Yes, I think it's twofold. No licensing fees, while also wanting a healthy margin. With the likes of Mars and Lim Toys, we're getting high quality, generous accessories and excellent value.

I love that we've gotten Batman, Bruce Wayne, Alfred, and a few Jokers. However, we need Vicki Vale. That was the movie. Batman, The Joker and Vicki Vale. Give her that blue outfit from the museum and the white dress she was wearing during the final battle. If I can get a good Vicki Vale I'll be set with 1989 Batman.

What figure in your collection would you say is the most just a shrunk down version of what was on screen? Like are there any that genuinely boggle your mind to look at? This one came pretty close for me

The headsculpt seems to vary wildly in quality from one photo or video to the next. It typically looks quite soft, but in this clip, it looks very detailed. I guess it all comes down to lightning, and photography. I never thought the HT sculpt looked good, so it's not tough to beat. I do find it baffling that no 3rd party has managed to outclass the HT Arnold's T-800 HS, or even the very old Godfather HT OG release. They keep trying, and even with all the tech available, can't seem to even match a 10+ year old sculpt.

I've been trying to find a Mars Toys Mr J and a Thunder Toys Venom. All of the sellers in China on ebay list as in stock but then you send a message to confirm and they say its out of stock. They then remove it or put pre sale. Extremely disappointed on how hard it is to get these.

I got one recently, it’s my first ever 6th scale so I’m not sure how it compares to other but it’s very good! The Hot Toys BW sculpt has to be one of their worst imo. This Mars Toys version is very good, and like you said, the likeness to Keaton goes up a notch when he's wearing his glasses. I look forward to hearing your views on Mars Toys Mr J. From what I've seen, it's an early contender for figure and pound-for-pound champ of the year.

Believe it is suppose to come wearing the checkered version as that is ‘89 tux scene meeting Vickie vale, the plain black set is if you want to have the ‘92 look from scene with catwoman at the ball. But shirt/buttons is inaccurate to ‘92 so unnecessary accessory in my opinion

They got his build and complexion better but for me Hot Toys wins the likeness due to the eyes, Mars Toys one looks like someone done up to look like Michael Keaton, like an impersonator.

The Hot Toys version looks better in my opinion. The Mars toy’s likeness is off. If you take the skin tone from the Mars and put it on the Hot Toys it would be even better!💯

Michael Keaton definitely wasn’t my idea of a good Bruce didn’t really exude the qualities of a playboy millionaire in my opinion but that aside him in guise of Batman was great. I have no want to have a Michael Keaton in a regular suit so this is a pass for me.
I'm sure Keaton could have easily played the role differently had Burton and the writers wanted to make BW more flamboyant, more faithful to the comics. That said, I really like the way Keaton's BW had an awkward, pre-occupied way about him, a lost soul. For me, Bale's BW is the best because he feigned the extrovert when in public, while being his true self when in the company of Alfred, Lucius and Rachel.
