Yaaaaay! I found my plantain tree!!!🤣 I have lost total control of my banana and plantain collection. I didn’t label the 5 types of bananas I collected. Thanks so much!
thanks very much l sm retired from construction and is experimenting with a backyard garden and you helped s lot . and you were very clear.you sound antiguan
In the days of old when dinosaurs roamed😊, i was shown by a farmer that the mid rib of the plantain forms a U shape while that of the bannana had outward flared ends on the U. You can see it in the video
Thank you so much ma'am for differentiating the two trees. This has been a long time problem for me .Now I can differentiate! Quick question :can I plant plantain on my 6 plots of land at this season since I just finished laying water pipes on the land through the help of plumbers and having been wetting the soil for the past two weeks. Thanks for your anticipated response
Of course you can. Your only consideration is whether you are in an area that would allow the tree to mature to fruit. Most Banana tree mature at 7-9 months. So if your growing season is shorter than that them you would have to come of with ways to lengthen the season. If you do not have this constrain then you can plant at any time.
What a good English is that, very fluent and eloquent. If you were my teacher back then i wouldn't have failed my Ordinary level

Thanks for explaining, but do the plantain takes the same amount of watering & sun like the banana tree?
Yes. The conditions are the same. However the plantain takes a longer time to fruit
The local banana is similar to our Burro banana.
