At 20:20 I think there's a mistake. The Dawn of technology rulebook states at page 3 that "Players may not choose their Signature Trick as their BONUS starting trick if they chose the Engineer as their starting Specialist". You can still pay a shard and replace your workshop starting trick even if you chose the engineer, but it can't be the bonus trick on the engineer board. Anyways, I personally think the manager is better for level one Signature Trick because those tricks needed a lot of materials.

They don't recommend it because both expansions do fairly similar things.
