Hi Kyle, As a professional software developer, I was hoping to provide some insight into why this issues are occurring. I work for a large healthcare company, but I have many friends in the gaming industry. One of which is a developer for EA who works on the NHL games. 1) The primary reason why certain games are seeing an uptick in critical bugs is because of bloated code. This was first brought to my attention by my friend at EA. There were similar issues in NHL 24 this year, one of their game modes (HUT Rush) was completely unplayable for about 6 months. Something that people don’t understand is that it takes a VERY long time to create a video game (GTA 6 took over a decade). Because of this, games that come out on a yearly basis are usually the same game (and the same code) with new features added in. Because each year you’re just building on top of stuff, the code gets more and more complex. On top of that, SDS ports their game to 5 systems (2 PS/XBOX systems, and the switch). They have to consider EACH of those systems in their code. Many performance issues that you see (like non network related lag) are due to this. Essentially, the point I’m trying to make here is that the more that time goes by, the more outdated and over complicated the codebase will become. 2) SDS is an indie dev company. These guys companies typically consist of people who are new to the industry and almost always they are underpaid and overworked. AAA developers like EA and Rockstar usually only hire seasoned developers who might be a little more experienced. I don’t know anyone at SDS but I do know some developers that work for similar size company and this is a very big issue for them. 3) The last thing that I will say is that people HIGHLY underestimate how hard it is to fix a bug. Even a tiny bug. There is a team of a dozen people that have to work together to make the change. You have developers, team leads, scrum masters, QA folks, and many more. They are likely working in multiple environments of code (meaning that once they fix it in the test environment, they can move up to the production environment and then UAT and so on. This is true for ALL software development. Please have patience. If you think that the developers aren’t working on something, chances are that they probably are but got hung up somewhere along the way of the lengthy process. 4) In no way am I trying to excuse the issues that the player base is running into. Accounts being wiped is an extremely critical bug and if something like that happened in my workplace, someone would be getting fired. I sincerely hope that they are able to get things together but I fear that it’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better. Tell me how the hell as time has gone on games have become shittier on release and have more bug problems year in and year out? I thought we were getting more advanced as time has gone by but all I’ve seen is a huge decline in the gaming industry as a whole, 5 years ago we didn’t have games that didn’t work on release and were almost unplayable but now it seems that’s all these shit game industries are shitting out, I’m no tech nerd but this just doesn’t seem right at all and I see no excuse for it, prices of games are going up and they’re getting worse, HOW!?!?
This is an awesome comment and so well said. As someone in tech can confirm this kind of outdated system debt is common and widespread. Unless they completely rebuild large portions of the game essentially from scratch to accommodate the new features, graphics, whatever… its basically just a new, shiner, but held up by eroding sticks, Fast n Furious remake year after year

It is a difficult culture there, and without even hearing your friends stories I already agree with him completely. Of course no where is perfect, but EA was something else…
I was playing BR. Won a game. After the game, there was an exceptionally long loading screen, followed by the terms and conditions page and my account nuked. It happened to me in real time. I’ve never linked an account, so currently I am fucked at the moment. I immediately sent a ticket to SDS. They responded to my email simply by telling me my progress will not be lost, they’re working on it, and thanking me for my patience.

What’s that crap they said that the PCI is where your eyes are not where the bat is!? That’s a whole lot of horse dung. They need to have this game unfortunately on a multi year production schedule. They don’t have time I guess to make any changes that work or matter. Not even mentioning the program layout and best cards locked behind a stub wall lol! Damn man!

Hey Kyle i experienced the exact same problem; however I was actually in a game when I randomly received a disconnect and loaded out to the main menu. When i clicked on diamond dynasty everything was gone and I was on the tutorial screen as well. I emailed SDGS that night and went to sleep. I finally received a response the next day around 3pm telling me they were working on it but they completely ignored the point I made that it gave me the lost. I logged back in later tonight around 10pm and my team was back to regular, although the loss was still on my record. I have also been disconnected from 5 other games this season where I was winning and was given a loss, the problem is I have around 400mb download speed so this should never be a problem and definitely can’t be my internet problem , i am disconnecting from games with no lag. Thank you Kyle for standing up for us and making this video your leadership for us means a lot. I’ve been subscribed and watching you since the show 16 and will continue. Thank you! ❤

UPDATE: My account was nuked last night. I wasn’t able to play all day, but I just checked around 8:30 PM PST and all my stuff was back. There was no compensation attached, which I was expecting, but still…my stuff is back. Maybe they’ll throw a bone to the people that lost their accounts once they fix the issue from everyone.

I chose the one that DID NOT have the message “if you choose this your progress will be reset” attached to it. Didn’t work so now I’m just waiting. 150hrs of grinding GONE. They better fix this shit ASAP and compensate well to those who were affected like me and many others.

This situation Happened to me when I was playing the game a screen came up saying that I hit Daily Maximum of Xp 15,000 and a screen came up saying I could play for 4 hours. So I didn’t think nothing of I went to sleep woke up trying to play a game and my stuff all deleted but it showed me How it had been since I logged in Thst was weird as hell. I was actually winning games and my team was coming together.😢

Mine is still missing. 150+ hours. Most programmes complete, most live series collections done. When my game went to the terms and conditions page, I had also literally 30 seconds earlier packed live series Ohtani, as-well. Gutted.
My ps account went down last night after I finished a game against cpu in dynasty. Customer service got back to me tonight and said they are aware of the issue and are working on an update. He advised me to relink my account but like most people it shows level 1 with zero stubs which is inaccurate. I had 18k stubs at the time of the wipe. I’m beyond frustrated. So much time spent. The customer service rep also assured me that my data and whatnot were not lost. I would hope they have all that on their servers but who knows. It’s been a terrible experience so far. Was not like this in past years.
Pinpoint in the stretch, 2 way glitch, mini people, deleting accounts, foul balls, 40k packs being the only good cards. But hey! Atleast they added women!

There is a common theme across the gaming industry over the past decade or so. Everything is deteriorating. Games are taking longer to make yet come out worse, with few exceptions of course. It doesn’t seem like they do anything anymore and just rely on micro transactions to sustain their funds for doing fucking nothing all year. All of the old devs from the same studios are gone or were forced out across the board. And they’re being replaced with ideological psychos who have no fucking idea how to make quality games. EA just had that huge controversy with that crazy chick who said she refuses to work with white people because they make her uncomfortable. Yes but she has significant power in one of, if not the largest, gaming corporation. These kinds of people are spread all throughout the gaming industry and it’s perfectly been trailing the path of the movie industry.

Here are some nintendo switch problems too: We couldn’t play diamond dynasty for the first two weeks of the game release. Graphics are the exact same as 23 (I didn’t expect any better but still disappointing). Can’t think of any more other than the ones Kyle said. Great job SDS🙄🤦♂️
I just got on and it said network error failed to log in and i couldnt connect to diamond dynasty but after restarting the game a few times i was able to connect and have all my stuff still 🤷♂️

I am a franchise player. I love watching u and Kevin. I get how much "attention" DD has always supposedly gotten because they sure do the bare minimum for RTTS and Franchise. I wish this game actually gave major attention to all areas. But this isn't the case. It's sad to see this has happened to the DD community. But I will say, and for no reason other than just to say it, for Franchise and RTTS, this is normal. They don't do enough. Everyone buys the game. So the argument of DD makes all the money goes out the window with the issues u brought up. What are they actually doing to move this game to the next level in all areas? I want this game to be better than other sports games, but I don't see that happening.

Mine is still missing. 150+ hours. Most programmes complete, most live series collections done. When my game went to the terms and conditions page, I had also literally 30 seconds earlier packed live series Ohtani, as-well. Gutted.

My ps account went down last night after I finished a game against cpu in dynasty. Customer service got back to me tonight and said they are aware of the issue and are working on an update. He advised me to relink my account but like most people it shows level 1 with zero stubs which is inaccurate. I had 18k stubs at the time of the wipe. I’m beyond frustrated. So much time spent. The customer service rep also assured me that my data and whatnot were not lost. I would hope they have all that on their servers but who knows. It’s been a terrible experience so far. Was not like this in past years.

I was doing a coop game yesterday with my friend and I hit a double and both of us got kicked out 😂😭
Honestly when you think about it, look at their livestreams, especially the one the day of early access this year…it was like they were totally unprepared and weren’t all on the same page (saying things they shouldn’t have, accidentally showing card art and stats at wrong times, etc.)…it’s no wonder the game has been as buggy as it has been
Every MLB the show RUclipsr and streamer needs to team up with the community and call out SDS for their greed, laziness, and incompetence. At some point it isn’t enough to have everyone complain in their comment section on twitter and Instagram.

im just kinda sad. this game used to be so fun but the neglect on the game is so obvious and makes it so unplayable and not enjoyable. i spent $80 which is like most of my money ngl on this game just for it to crap the bed in the first month.
My buddy and I played a co-op game yesterday against actual pro MLB players who had cards that were not unlockable and could only get them from THE SHOW placing them on your account. Pretty cool video idea if you can get some pull and get someone's account to play with
There is a common theme across the gaming industry over the past decade or so. Everything is deteriorating. Games are taking longer to make yet come out worse, with few exceptions of course. It doesn’t seem like they do anything anymore and just rely on micro transactions to sustain their funds for doing fucking nothing all year. All of the old devs from the same studios are gone or were forced out across the board. And they’re being replaced with ideological psychos who have no fucking idea how to make quality games. EA just had that huge controversy with that crazy chick who said she refuses to work with white people because they make her uncomfortable. Yes but she has significant power in one of, if not the largest, gaming corporation. These kinds of people are spread all throughout the gaming industry and it’s perfectly been trailing the path of the movie industry.

I still play MLB22 The Show. The gameplay hasn’t changed at all, the only thing different is you have to use the pitcher to hit. I can’t imagine paying $70 for the same game again.

Graphics are the exact same as 23 (I didn’t expect any better but still disappointing).

I just got on and it said network error failed to log in and i couldnt connect to diamond dynasty but after restarting the game a few times i was able to connect and have all my stuff still 🤷♂️

I am a franchise player. I love watching u and Kevin. I get how much "attention" DD has always supposedly gotten because they sure do the bare minimum for RTTS and Franchise. I wish this game actually gave major attention to all areas. But this isn't the case. It's sad to see this has happened to the DD community. But I will say, and for no reason other than just to say it, for Franchise and RTTS, this is normal. They don't do enough. Everyone buys the game. So the argument of DD makes all the money goes out the window with the issues u brought up. What are they actually doing to move this game to the next level in all areas? I want this game to be better than other sports games, but I don't see that happening.

This happened to me last year in MLB 23, my entire account was locked out and i’ve never been able to get back in to diamond dynasty
Games gonna be chalked so quick if they don't figure out the real 99 glitch. Takes away all purpose of actually grinding out cards. And it waters down the feeling of when it comes to actually obtaining the "boss" cards
It’s crazy how the game is so broken yet they release the same thing over and over again😭 like the fact that the 2 way player glitch came back is just unacceptable. Playing us like we’re fools while they print out the Benjamins. UNACCEPTABLE!

They have ZERO competition when it comes to baseball games and they know it’s them or nothing. It’s been the same bs year after year and little to no improvements have been made. The lack of sense of urgency, letting players make contact with pitches completely out the strike zone, STILL NOT LETTING US THROW OUT RUNNERS AT FIRST AFTER A HARD HIT BALL TO RIGHT FIELD is crazy!! And there’s so much more smh
I got a bug where I unlocked Yordan Alvarez during the Early Access period and now I can’t use him on any team other than my main squad. Also can’t redeem him in collections 🙃🙃. Great game lol

i had to link my xbox account back to my The Show account and it worked. i hate that this is happening and i got lucky but SDS seems to be very good at responding and keeping people in the loop. i hope it gets resolved soon
