They act like this is a “good” way of cold messaging people. Like “make a connection! Don’t just start with a sales pitch, that’s monstrous, hun!” Do they have any idea how many people they hurt doing this? Aside from going to groups with disorders, that’s gross as it is, but people with mental health issues, depression, etc. Thinking they made a friend, so excited, then they get the sales pitch, and realize it was fake all along. So so gross.
Just said the same before I read this! It's so mean and hurtful. I feel so sad for people who fall for this stuff
I left all the Facebook groups I was in for my chronic illness because I stopped trusting people because of MLM Huns. I had one woman who befriended me and we talked for months, commiserating about our symptoms and all that jazz and once I turned down her sales pitch she stopped talking to me. Except to try her pitch again a couple months later 🙄
I really thought my coach cared about my journey until I realized she was copying and pasting in all of our conversations lol that's when I really started realizing how fake it all is

As someone who runs a group for Crohn's and colitis, I am absolutely disgusted by this.
We are so careful with who we allow in our groups. No sales ever!! Even private message.

I am a new subscriber . I wanted to thank you for your insight and exposure of how certain groups are targeted. I suffer from Crohn’s disease and have received infusion therapy etc. I’ve been apprehensive to join forums for this exact reason. Also the mlm’s that encourage you to purchase “gut healthy” products without providing medical based proof is immoral and sad imo. Thank you for your kindness to humanity .
As someone with CRPS and EC I'm in a few support groups online and I talk about things there that I would never tell anybody who doesn't have my condition for one like mine. Watching these women is horrifying.
I know the EC group gets a lot of MLM "ads" but I never really thought about it because the first time you tagged them they're kicked out and those ones haven't done with these women have done. These women are talking about infiltrating the group as if they were one of you, those ones were just straight up "I have a miracle cream that will cure your lips" and are promptly kicked out.
These women are more damaging than the people that are just honest about selling snake oil

Honestly something I didn't really think about until now is how psychologically damaging this kind of behavior is for the person perpetrating it. Like, you view every single connection you have with a person as an opportunity to get someone in your downline or to at least sell to and generate a customer. How damaging is it to never be able to create a genuine connection with ANYONE at that point. I kind of wonder if people who end up leaving MLMs have issues viewing people as normal human beings after being brainwashed to see people this way. Even people who own real small businesses do not view people as pure dollar signs like people in MLMs do

This is the same was a child predator looks for images of children, joining groups where parents will feel safe sharing pictures of their children, especially ones that have disabilities who may share more scantily clad images to get advice. Groups are not a "safe space"

My FB mom group has a strict no MLM policy. They will kick you out so fast. It’s beautiful.
A CICO group I'm in does this too. They ask people to report any DMs and friend requests from huns who have joined the group and they remind people to mark before and after photos, so the huns can't steal them and claim their MLM was behind the results. I love it and it makes more people aware of the problems with MLMs.
I was on Peanut after I had my third son and I made one semi friend but I ended up quitting the app in case she was a hun. They’ve infiltrated everything and stop at nothing to be disgusting and horrible people. I wish apps like that for friend connections would have a no-tolerate policy for them.

I’m in a group for people who work in my side job industry (the job I do for fun, not my full time day job) and there’s no explicit rules on promoting MLMs but every time someone tries to slide in with it 20 people are like.. NO HUN. It’s also beautiful. Hahaa

Yes they do think of it. I had a “friend” invite me to one of those meetings and when I heard how they approach it, how they try to invite you to workout to build a “relationship” before they invite you to a meeting.

YES!! As someone who left an MLM a few months ago that was stuck in my head the the whole month I was there! Also it's comical to me how they want you to create this "authentic" connection but as SOON as I left the MLM, the authentic connection vanished. With every person, including with my cousin, the one who recruited me
They leave and their upline tells everyone they just didn't work hard enough.

Before I had heard of beach body a girl I went to school with messaged me talking about do you wanna become a coach on my team? So I asked what qualifications were required to apply for the position (I was a certified personal trainer at the time) and she started her pitch telling me about how you basically just buy into it the job “opportunity” and I got pissed! I told her how insulting this practice is to people who are actual health and fitness professionals. This shit lights me up.

I am a backpacker and I’m in a lot of groups that share information about hiking and I can always spot a hun from 1000 miles away. They always add me, compliment my pictures, etc. and within hours I get the whole “ I see you’re an independent woman...” message and as soon as they make an offer I delete and block them.
You need to do what the AntiMLM Reddit does and upgrade from deleting and blocking...just waste their time 🤣🤣🤣

My sister died a few years back and my family posted several updates about her death and the funeral on her Instagram. A couple months later, a girl messaged her account, saying she loved her page so much and thought she would be perfect to be a rep for itworks. I couldn’t believe it. One look would have told you that she was dead, she just flat out lied. I was furious. They really don’t care at all. It’s so manipulative to make people think that they do.

Exactly what I was thinking. I’m growing more and more irritated by the sound and tone of her voice, I wouldn’t survive one day if I had a manager/boss like this. They always sound like they’re rushing through these things, as if they can’t move fast enough to get the others to add people. All that’s missing is a whip she can crack at them.

this mlm girl casually going into the ulcerative colitis group made me so mad. My little sister was recently diagnosed and has found a lot of help and solace in her facebook group. And the fact that she complained about them posting about their bowels... this is THEIR page where they find comfort in posting stuff they may not feel comfortable talking to their friends or family about. Smh.

I have Crohn's and was diagnosed over 20years back when I was 13years old, well before FB, but I also joined any groups I could find because I wanted to learn EVERYTHING I could about my disease and how if affects different people. You shouldn't have to worry about assholes like this stupid mlm hun preying on your potential insecurities.
I just can't BELIEVE there are people, like this woman, who think this behavior is acceptable.

I was diagnosed as having Ulcerative Colitis in 1975/1976 at the tender age of 4, then at 16 I went in for surgery and was told I was going to have a bag....absolutely PETRIFIED at that age of 16 thinking my life was literally OVER.. however during surgery the surgeon then said I had Crohn's Disease and THANKFULLY was able to take out most of my intestine and stretched my small intestine down far enough so that I could still use the bathroom like "normal". Then had to have 7" cut from that intestine in 2009. Anyway, these broads tried me and I wasn't having it.. I cussed them out SEVERLY and had quite a few choice words with them and reported them as well. How dare they prey on the sick & weary like that. They have a special place in hell for sure!

This! I really connected with another mom as a new mom, like we really hit it off and talked for hours on multiple occasions. After 3 play dates, she hit me with the Arbonne sales pitch. It was honestly soul crushing and discouraged me from making new friends.
I was on the friend side of bumble during the pandemic and the amount of monat boss babes on there was ridiculous! One girl in particular seemed to respect me shutting it down from the get go only to try and sell it again to me 2 weeks later... blocked her real quick.
Maybe I should add them and pretend to be interested in their MLM Opportunity

@@alexandriav3956 it's not being stupid, a lot of vunerable folks are in these groups. A hemiplegic migraine and a facial nerve pain support groups i was in tears ago was flooded with Huns in waves. They were quick to pick out people. Both of those groups then had to add rules about messaging and that such behaviour is unacceptable and removed from the groups.
Imagine staying on this Zoom or whatever after realizing she's going after people with chronic illness. I would have just left at that point.
It is soooo shady to go into groups that are a community for people with chronic diseases, disorders etc. That is predatory af.

I live with a devastating condition but being an oldie i have developed both an aversion to these kinds of groups and anyone trying to brow beat me into handing over my cash, it's a shame others fall for it. The way they usually end up broke, let down and emotionally done in and having to rebuild bridges with everyone close they've rail roaded, it's a sad and despicable tale every time you hear it. Everyone here should have their Facebook set to not allow random people to add them and for strangers to not be able to see your friends I did that almost as soon as opened my account and I never get bother

I joined an mlm two months ago out of desperation because I’m disabled. They made it seem way better than it actually is. It made me feel nauseous having to copy and paste messages to people because I felt it was wrong to do. I’m just glad I realized it early and didn’t get trapped in this.

I hope these groups have seen this video - they are usually pretty good about blocking people like this and many of the patients understand to avoid people like this. 💔

I wouldn’t consider myself to be particularly vulnerable or lonely, but it still really hurt one time when someone befriended me IRL and then I found out over the course of a few months that she really only befriended me to sell me young living. Like it kind of messed me up for a while, despite having a strong friend group. It really made me question the motives of those around me for a long time, especially new people in my life. Sick sick stuff.

Unfortunately a lot of smaller creators have been getting bullied and harassed by the girls and having videos claimed and struck for copyright so to avoid the whole thing they just blur the face and distort it for the thumbnail. I joined a few "power hours" when I was in a mlm. I usually just sat there and pretended to do the activities. It gave me such intense anxiety. My spirit knew that shit was wrong and cringy.
Was it for monat? I have a friend who got me to join her team and I found Kiki soon after and I just want out. But she is desperate to climb the mlm ladder that when I stopped making sales and it knocked her down a rank she started to reach out to me to see " how I'm doing" but all she really wanted to talk about was how she is inches to ranking to MMB and she needs me to sign someone on or spend money to get a pv of over 100. I am wasn't budging so she had her leader send me $100 to spend on anything to get my friend to rank to MMB. I thought how disingenuous. She shows shes so successful on social media but she is just faking it til she makes it. Or how she likes to call it. Manifesting it into reality 😕 and the kicker is she tells everyone to go out and get John c. Maxwell books.
Same here. I didn’t feel right about it deep in my gut but i kept drinking the koolaid and I’m so glad I’m finally OUT 🙌🏻 Being authentic is better than any amount of fake friends

I never accept a friend request from someone I don’t actually know - I don’t use FB to make friends I use it to keep up with friends and family that I already have, and who don’t live nearby, and then join groups that I am actually interested in, to listen to their POV, upskill, get advice etc.

Beach Body did get me. Holy crap at the money I wasted...and those shakes are like vomit. Though, I do still have the dvd workouts and still use them because the workouts are really nice
(even though you can get insanely cheaper workout DVDs at walmart) I spent all that money before I figured out what an MLM was so I still do the workouts. I have some horror stories of being sucked into Beach Body, it sent me into a bad depression.

She goes, “Oh, nice. So do you see that being the end all, be all for you? I have an amazing business opportunity I can share with you.” Are you kidding me?! Yeah, let me drop my job with great benefits that I worked so hard for to join your scammy MLM. 🤣

Exactly. I live 700 miles from my family, and three generations of my family are all on FB, constantly. FB is crucial for keeping up with everyone. But I also know to avoid random groups and I don’t accept friend requests from people I don’t know.

Same. Instagram is also getting run over by scammers. 90% of people who start to follow me give scammer vibes. Some of them will proceed to DMs. If they just start by "Hi" I'll block them. Normal people know how to write a personalized message, while bots don't. Sometimes they're romance scammers, sometimes trying to pose as having a product they want me to promote, but there's a hurry, only 5 places left, etc.
It's easy for me though, since my Instagram is mostly in my first language, so anyone messaging in English is kind of sus.
I totally agree that this is worse than cold messaging...they are deliberately luring victims, pretend to befriend and stringing them along. It is like “lying in wait” , pretending to be a nice person and then pouncing, so they can get their 💰. This is so gross, should be a crime.

I think it's really sad that she deletes people she could actually be friends with just to prey on people whose name she can't remember 30 seconds later! I use Facebook (OK, I'm a Boomer LOL) to keep track of people I actually know, old co-workers, etc. so to summarize: I don't want to do the work, I have my assistant do it, I don't have any real friends, just business prospects. Seems like a really sad way to live.

I find it hilarious how they think we are all so oblivious and don't realize what's happening when a random person friend requests/follows us and then immediately messages us. Or when they like 93 pictures that were posted back in 2012, and then message me about how they LoVe my content!
I added a girl I knew from high school. Within 2 minutes I had an invite for her jam berry page. I declined and immediately got another one. This went on for a whole day, I must have have got 30 requests. Didn’t stop until I blocked her. I never even opened her DMs.
