I'm back on training after a big working summer. I need to go back and learn things from this channel !
You got this! 💪💪💪💪💪💪
Thanks for the hard work you put into your videos!
So nice of you 😍🙏😍💪😍🙏
Thanks for all of your videos mate. I couldn't run 3km 2 years ago and just ran 3:25:09 for my 1st marathon. Could've been quicker but I started late and got caught behind big waves of 5/4 hour runners ect.
My pleasure and thanks for your support. Awesome job having run that 3:25:09 in your debut. A superior time! keep me updated on your future progress. I see you going well below 3 hours in the near future.
You are making such nice and informative videos, thanks sir 🙏
Thanks and welcome
Thanks so much for these tips as always. I tried to get after it in my marathon today but had to drop out after my IT band flared up (nagging injury that I thought was gone). My first DNF and it sure sucks. I see you have some videos on bouncing back after disappointing races - will check them out!
The best runners in the world have had to deal with DNF (3rd fastest marathoner in history, Kenny Bekele at 2:01:41) is an example. It happens and sometimes it is a very wise decision to pull out to save having to recover for several weeks after a marathon. You are extremely fit and will nail your next marathon. You still got a great workout today, remember that. Ice and rest that IT band.
@@rundreamachieve thank you so much for your kind reply. Definitely needed these words today! will focus on coming back healthier and stronger in 2024 after some good rest
💪💪💪💪💪💪
Helpful information, thanks.
You bet! 💪💪💪💪💪
Nathan, I have run more than 13 marathons, but the most important marathons I ran are my BQ marathon at 3:29:39, followed by Boston Marathon at 3:28:02, and my last marathon at 3:26:08. However, I trained to run my last marathon at 3:14:14. As minimum, I wanted to be below 3:20. My race started I was on target pace, but on mile 20, my legs started feeling like cement blocks. I know this is a general question, but I am scratching my head to figure out where I may have gone wrong. I had a hydration and refueling plan I adhered to. It was slightly windy but otherwise, weather was ideal at 60F. Thank you
Outstanding job on your past marathons. You didn't do anything wrong..sometimes we can do everything right and still miss it..consistency is the key now..start mixing up the paces of your long runs every other week, do a 10-day taper next time for your next sub 3:20 attempt. I know, based on your past performances, you are well capable of running well below 3:20. Keep up the superior training and racing.
Nathan, can you please do an episode on how to run a 3:19:59 marathon please? Thank you. Raffy
Absolutely Raffy!
Been running for just 3 years now. I'm 44, no history of endurance sports what so erver. Participated in my first half marathon half-prepared while injured, my first full marathon while injured (3:58) and now finally managed to properly prepared myself for my last marathon, which I finished in 3:38.
But I honestly felt like I had plenty left in the gas tank to sustain a slightly higher pace...so evidently, I'm now laser focused on hitting a sub 3:30 PB. Not 100% sure if I'm biting of more than I can chew though, even if I do put in all the work. I'm no spring chicken, maybe I'm just reaching my peak...right? :/
I coach 2 guys, one over 50 who went from 3:33 to 3:04 and the other is nearly 60 training for a sub 3. You, at 44, are well capable of breaking 3:30 and very well done having already run that 3:38. Awesome joB! Keep up the superior work. I definitely know you can do this based on your efforts.
@@rundreamachieve 3:40 at 50 years old, sub 3 at the age of 60...Now that's impressive. Thanks for the encouragement, that might be the little push I needed 🙏
💪💪💪💪
I am a 3:49 marathon runner from India, now preparing for Tata Mumbai marathon (7th overall).I am trying my best to get the desired time as on 15th October i ran new Delhi half marathon in 1:40:54 which if i calculate in vo2 dot calculator it is showing full marathon timing of sub3:30😊😊
Nice work having already run a. 3:49 marathon and 1:40:54 half. VERY well done. Keep me updated on your progress. You definitely care a capable of a sub 3:30
Thanks for the video, I really appreciate your content. Is there like a 10k/Half time to be able to run before trying a 3:30 marathon?
A 45:39 10K and 1:41:11 half marathon are equivalent to a marathon in 3:29:59. Of course, you can still run a sub 3:30 without being exactly at these times but you want to be within a minute of each or so. Hope this helps and I know you can achieve this goal!
@@rundreamachieve thank you so much for your reply 🙌 I was looking for this "metric" to gauge where I should be prior to starting that training block for a long time now.
My pleasure. Keep up the great work! You got this!
