Root is unique. There has never been a character like her before and probably never will be again. The whole show was underrated in my view. It wasn't just well done and good entertainment but touched on so many issues that are becoming more and more important.
I've watched tons of shows, tons of movies, played a lot of games, read a lot of books, I've seen enough to know Root is and will forever be the best fictional character I've ever had the pleasure to see, no other character in fiction has gotten me as passionate about their personality, growth and redemption arc as Root did. She's a masterpiece

As for character development I also really like Skye/daisy from the show Agents of Shield. That's my second favorite show (first place is taken by Person of Interest), definitely recommended.
Awesome job. The music really was well chosen, it totally intensifies the feeling. Root's character development shows how great the writers on PoI actually are. Going from a psycho nerd who cares about nothing and no one to this likeable, devoted friend/lover who'd do anything to protect and safe her loved ones... And to top it all off, it's being played by the most adorable actress, Amy Acker, who manages to make the viewers love and root for (no pun intended) a former killer for hire. I can't wait for season 5.
It's the best character edit I've ever seen, and I've seen up to 1000 of those. It's showing the character's priorities and driving forces; show, not tell. And it's through those and her core relationships that we get to know the real her, her true self. It's a pity the edit doesn't have any season 5 material, because I think her arch is very logical and defined - a true example of a good-written character. But I wouldn't know how to fit all that material into this song, because your timing in this edit is impeccable

You mean where she is trying to choke back the tears? It's scenes like that that contribute to my notion that the actress was very much underrated (although there is a lot more to in than just those scenes).

If the creators of this show have any desire to make a project for money...all they have to do is create an AI with root's face and her voice.. There is no better time than now. I am going to miss this show.
