I remember saying to my composition teacher how I was arranging a piece for trombone quintet.
His response:
“Sure, if you really like that underwater sound. Go for it!”
He was not paying my idea a compliment.
However, I went along and wrote it-liked it a good deal too. But, in his defense, it did sound mellow, washed, and underwater. 🤣
Food for thought. Lovely composition though. 👍
