This is 100% one of the best endings songs ever. IT hits so damn hard in the feels with the ending scenes used. Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury should win the anime of the year award with best openings and endings.
It like how it really gives me the vibes of how Suletta is under Lady Prospera’s control. It is beautiful and haunting. Would you kindly or Order 66 come to mind.
But notice that her mother’s hairband is ripped from her head by the transformation sequence into the black dress and then Miorine starts to show up more in the ED instead of being a faint outline. I think Suletta’s bride will save her from her mother.
Maybe like 0:37 and her having black dress + it says "call me distortion" but at same time she looks beautiful in that dress. I think it might symbolise her being a bit lost under her mother's influence. I really like this anime, it really hits me. At first I was 100% sure it was just a show for kids, then fake Elan's death, then Suletta's first kill I was like DAAAMN. But I always wondered what Suletta really is and her sister since they don't get affected by the data storm from going beyond 33th layer while people in prologue were suffering from going permet score 3.
This is easily my favourite Gundam ED ever, especially on its own (it's hard not to have a slight bias towards the EDs of the shows I grew up with). It's beautifully animated, especially Suletta's dance, and the song hits so well, especially with a quiet lead-in during the show itself.
God, there's so much power and soul in the vocals. Absolutely love the visual of Suletta dancing with her stave bits while the singer just fucking goes.

Disclaimer: Spoilers. Current favorite anime outro of all time. Only 9 hands at 1:01 But 10 hands (5 Suletta's) at 0:54 The bottom half of the screen at 1:01 has two pairs of hands, the top half of the screen at 1:01 has two pairs of hands with an odd-left-hand-without-a-right at 12 o'clock. (Hint, find the index finger first.) Not only beautiful and mesmerizing, but also feels like a dark taboo ritual where there's at least one human inside the machine (represented by the hand flower) with another human tapping into the layers beneath (represented by the odd-left-hand-without-a-right in this screen at 1:01, while the matching right hand is offscreen, paralleling the sequence where a single Suletta is dancing the dark dance and the gund bits are making arcane sigils in 3d at 0:51). We've seen the power of Aerial as 0:51 through season 1 part 1. Now we see the tragic taboo that powers Aerial in season 1 part 2 / (s2) in this hand flower reveal. This is hauntingly beautiful, but also foreboding, and makes the viewer uneasy. It's the tragedy of the power Suletta was given through training and taboo to fight (and expectation of trope alignment: probably win) a war that began before her birth (see prologue). She doesn't want her sister to be a machine, but she's a good person and treats her like a person. She doesn't want to have to fight to help or survive, but this is Gundam, and lessons must be taught to the audience at the grueling expense of characters living within this frosty earth-space-dystopia. The happy nature of the first half of the series so far has such a strong contrast with the grueling nature of the episodes since the first finale because of this: war is abrupt, insane, and utterly devastating to at least someone each time. And like a virus, the victors breed vices that break and corrupt and propagate hatred, revenge, and powerlust into the future in a sphere that perpetuates the cycle (see Gundam Wing). The Witch from Mercury episodes in 2022 were worldbuilding and (after we forgot the Prologue) seemingly peace. The Witch from Mercury episodes in December 2022 and 2023 are war. Stark. Dark. Heart wrenching. Tone shifting. And utterly painfully captured by the writers and artists of this show. Gundam Wing changed my life in the best way possible. I hope this show provides the same impact for many others.
@@edsah1213 that would explain why Miorine looks a bit skeptical/unsure here since she doesn't know who exactly this person in front of her is. And that makes me sad...
Could you point out what part of her looks physically aged? I agreed at first but looking more, I am actually unsure. Suletta is already taller than Miorine, and with her hair being down and in a dress, it already makes her look different and maybe not actually older. Since Eri would be 24-25, I don't think she(suletta?) looks physically aged here. Either way, I am hoping for a happy ending since Aerial (hopefully Eri and not suletta :')) holds both of them close to her heart.
God this is heart wrenching after episode 17. Miorine is definitely the implied POV here seeing as she's hoping for forgiveness after betraying her. As well as expressing her longing for Suletta after. "This knife is your beautiful future" "I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt" "It's radiant, your voice. But it won't reach, it won't reach " :( "Let me hold your hand and we'll see together" It's safe to assume whether or not Suletta chooses to free herself from her "red birthmark" and hopefully understanding Mio will be the deciding factor of mending their relationship in the end. Miorine and Suletta are gonna be absolute wrecks in the coming episodes... Side note: I just want them to be happy and married :(
@@coffeecoder8162 I see you're a tomato-paste enjoyer. Not all Gundam series ended in mass destruction w/ depression like Evangelion, mg. It's a different story with different take on how to handle war. I may not be a fan of the pacing but it's better because they tend to the aftermath of their "wrong decisions". The only tragic thing they did was it ended short.
What a beautiful ED, there's so much foreshadowing and symbolic imagery! I haven't seen any comments mention this, but the lyrics are all from Miorine's POV while the visuals are from Suletta's POV. Pretty mindblowing stuff. ***HEAVY SPOILERS*** Visuals: [0:00 to 0:15] Suletta is standing on a stage, with the sillhouettes of empty seats and a projector behind her. She raises her hand and the projector turns on and paints the background with stars, signifying the beginning of the show. This sequence is a reference to part of the lyrics in the song "The Blessing" by YOASOBI (Season 1 OP and ED for the final episode). Relevant lyrics from "The Blessing", about breaking free from fate: "It's not the image someone has drawn It's not the stage someone has selected It's a story we are creating" [0:15 to 0:30] A holographic ghost projection of Miorine appears, but the two aren't able to touch each other. This represents Miorine being unable to get through Suletta's brainwashing (overdependence on her mother and Eri) to reach her. [0:30: to 0:42] Again Suletta is haunted by another ghost, this time its Aerial but the ghost is red. This represents Suletta's past and her ties to Aerial/Eri, with the red colours symbolising the Curse of the Gundam. As Suletta reaches out her hand to Aerial, her chest is suddenly pierced by Aerial. This a reference to Episode 17, where Suletta learns of her past and has her heart completely broken after being abandoned by Aerial/Eri. A bunch of blue stuff erupts from Suletta's chest and blue Permet markings appear on her body, showing how Eri has always been the one protecting Suletta from the Curse. [0:42 to 0:45] Suletta with her eyes closed and hands almost in a prayer position, follow by a brief vision of a smiling Miorine against a reaching out to grab Suletta's hand. The bright white glow gives the scene the quality of a cherished memory, representing Suletta reminiscing about Miorine after she gets abandoned by her. [0:45 to 1:01] Absolutely beautiful sequence, which begins with Suletta conducting the GUND-BITS (she's actually the one controlling them when she pilots Aerial, not Eri). The GUND-BITS disappear and are replaced by Eri-clones (11 failed clones before Suletta that now live within the 11 GUND-BITS). Suletta gets shuffled together with the Eri-clones and is indistinguishable from them, showing she is the same as them. 5 clones forming a flower in 0:55 and 8 hands forming a sun in 1:00. 5 + 8 = 13 (Eri + Suletta + 11 clones). The heavy red palette here also probably represents Suletta taking the curse upon herself for the first time (without Eri's help) when she pilots the Calibarn and the red Permet markings appear on her face, a nod to the song title "Red:birthmark". [1:01 to 1:03] Zoom in on a monochrome Miorine with the "sun" from the previous sequence framing her face. One of her pupils is obscured initially but is opened after the spark, which ties in with the lyrics for this segment. Probably about Miorine regretting her short-sighted decision to cut off Suletta for her own good, the same way her father did to her, and how Suletta helps her open her eyes again metaphorically. Lyrics for this segment: "The dreams I see with one eye are all things I never wished for Let us look together, its within our reach" [1:03 to 1:20] Suletta and Miorine back together again, holding hands and spinning. Suletta is smiling while Miorine has a look of almost disbelief on her face. Miorine eventually leans back, fully trusting Suletta to hold onto her. This entire sequence basically mirrors what happens in Episode 22 when Suletta pulls a depressed Miorine out of her room. The sequence ends with Aerial holding the two of them to their "heart"/cockpit representing Eri giving them her blessings. Again, reference to "The Blessing" by YOASOBI, which is about Eri wishing the best for Suletta, the final line of lyrics for that song being "I will give my fullest blessing to you". [1:20 to 1:30] Projector turns off, leaving Suletta and a real non-ghost Miorine on the stage standing in the spotlight. Fingers trembling, there is a moment of hesistation before their fingers intertwine. Foreshadows that Suletta and Miorine will be together at the end of the show despite a rocky road to get there. This is also reflected in the lyrics, with the starting lines going from "It's gone, the flower of my dreams blooms yellow and becomes a thorn" to "It's gone, the flower of my dreams becomes a bright red star" at the end. The ED lyrics are Miorine's perspective and are pretty much self-explanatory. BTW the ED only covers half of the full song. Check out the full song, its great. ED lyrics: It's gone, the flower of my dreams blooms yellow and becomes a thorn Can I move past my wounded wishes and protect you? At the farthest reaches
I sought after it, I sought after it, and now I'm losing it I saw my colorless self and strangled it The sentiments colored in red look beautiful I stabbed through vague justice

We first see miorine and suletta trying to reach each other, but it's not working. Aeriel and suletta are a team, a duo. We see suletta reach for Eri/Aeriel's hand almost as if to ask her for help, which is probs why aeriel stabs suletta so she can share her power with her which why it proceeds to cut to suletta transforming like a "witch", in black dress and blue veins, controlling the Bits and aerial power as she wishes i.e Which is probably to reach miorine and gain their freedom. Miorine seems confused or maybe stunned when looking at the new suletta, maybe because of the transformation she had with the help of aerial. Maybe aerial sharing power with suletta altered her appearance or more enhanced. At the end, aerial holds on to them protectively to her chest to symbolise that she's watching over them and protects them.

This is 100% one of the best endings songs ever. IT hits so damn hard in the feels with the ending scenes used. Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury should win the anime of the year award with best openings and endings.
Welp.
Looks like we now know why Mio's so surprised to be dancing with Suletta lmao
That drop at 1:02 gets me everytime
Definitely the CLIMAX of the song!
And I love it so much!
@@KFC431 call me distortion
I thought it was a
"lelouch vi britannia commands you" 😂😂to 😂
Yes
0:30 after watching the most recent episode this part makes sense now
1:02 The way the beat drops in time to the visual of Miorine's eye flashing with an explosion of light gives me chills every damn time.
The way Miroine just let herself go in Sulleta´s arm is just... hmmmmm so good!
Absolutely beautiful ending theme, this series keeps killing it with the music!
It like how it really gives me the vibes of how Suletta is under Lady Prospera’s control. It is beautiful and haunting. Would you kindly or Order 66 come to mind.
Prospera: Suletta, kill Miorine.
Suletta: What? But Mom-
Prospera: Dew it.
@@KFC431 Gundam since is first airing in 1979 was never for only kids, but a message for humanity to be better.
Prospera: UNLIMITED PERMEEEET!!!!!!
This is easily my favourite Gundam ED ever, especially on its own (it's hard not to have a slight bias towards the EDs of the shows I grew up with). It's beautifully animated, especially Suletta's dance, and the song hits so well, especially with a quiet lead-in during the show itself.
I honestly didn't think anything would ever beat Wana for me.
This did.
God, there's so much power and soul in the vocals. Absolutely love the visual of Suletta dancing with her stave bits while the singer just fucking goes.
Excellent, animation is beautiful, specialy the reds in Suletta.
we got the good ending but im still sad over it ending
Same 💯
It was a great ending honestly, but I'm gonna miss so much this characters :(
@@patata6868 same so sad to see it end 🥺

Beautiful ED. I just hope our girls get a happy ending together
THIS SONG HITS SOO HARD AFTER EVERY EPISODES!
0:52 is breathtaking OMG
I love this ending?? the rawness of the singing. the drama, the lows and highs of the song combined with the imagery... JUST realised that in the last shot, Miorines and Suletta's hands are shaking
Damn, just listening to this makes my eyes teared up, that's how powerful the emotion that the singer projected...
I like how everyone thought this was going to be a lighthearted and happy series based on the initial principle artwork.
BOY DID EVERYONE FORGET THIS IS GUNDAM
Just like Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena, which this ending references too)
hehe =)
Gundam: “hey wanna watch me traumatize some children?”
started with school kids having robot playfights to school kids fucking murdering innocents, child sacrifice, and child enslavement. truly a gundam moment
Fantastic ending. I especially love near the end when Aerial grasps both Suletta and Miorine and holds them close to her chest, protecting them.
I really like suletta’s design but she looks so much better with her hair undone in this.
"goodbye, my beautiful witch from Mercury" 😭
Ok ik she didn't say that, but basically
DONT HURT ME
Disclaimer: Spoilers.
Current favorite anime outro of all time.
Only 9 hands at 1:01
But 10 hands (5 Suletta's) at 0:54
The bottom half of the screen at 1:01 has two pairs of hands,
the top half of the screen at 1:01 has two pairs of hands with an odd-left-hand-without-a-right at 12 o'clock.
(Hint, find the index finger first.)
Not only beautiful and mesmerizing, but also feels like a dark taboo ritual where there's at least one human inside the machine (represented by the hand flower) with another human tapping into the layers beneath (represented by the odd-left-hand-without-a-right in this screen at 1:01, while the matching right hand is offscreen, paralleling the sequence where a single Suletta is dancing the dark dance and the gund bits are making arcane sigils in 3d at 0:51).
Suletta looks absolutely beautiful here
Everyone keeps saying suletta's hair just got longer, but you can see she physically aged in this ending too
It's probably Eri, I mean she is the one that controls the Gund bits and not Suletta.
@@georgesulyvahn251 I think it's going to be Eri and Suletta fusing together to make one unique being.
"This knife is your beautiful future"
"I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt"
"It's radiant, your voice. But it won't reach, it won't reach " :(
"Let me hold your hand and we'll see together"
It's safe to assume whether or not Suletta chooses to free herself from her "red birthmark" and hopefully understanding Mio will be the deciding factor of mending their relationship in the end. Miorine and Suletta are gonna be absolute wrecks in the coming episodes...
Side note: I just want them to be happy and married :(
*cries in episode 18*
And after episode 22 it's clear that the bits she is dancing with are what's left of Suletta after this is all over.
Well, now they're happy and married🎉
@@itsnei6711 Thanks, I hated it. This is Gundam, where's the tragedy?
@@coffeecoder8162 I see you're a tomato-paste enjoyer. Not all Gundam series ended in mass destruction w/ depression like Evangelion, mg. It's a different story with different take on how to handle war. I may not be a fan of the pacing but it's better because they tend to the aftermath of their "wrong decisions". The only tragic thing they did was it ended short.
Congratulations, you have made one of the best anime endings of all time
That song is so impactful, and suletta's coreography on the drop is soooo good
What a beautiful ED, there's so much foreshadowing and symbolic imagery! I haven't seen any comments mention this, but the lyrics are all from Miorine's POV while the visuals are from Suletta's POV. Pretty mindblowing stuff.
***HEAVY SPOILERS***
Visuals:
[0:00 to 0:15]
Suletta is standing on a stage, with the sillhouettes of empty seats and a projector behind her. She raises her hand and the projector turns on and paints the background with stars, signifying the beginning of the show.
This sequence is a reference to part of the lyrics in the song "The Blessing" by YOASOBI (Season 1 OP and ED for the final episode).
Relevant lyrics from "The Blessing", about breaking free from fate:
"It's not the image someone has drawn
It's not the stage someone has selected
It's a story we are creating"
[0:15 to 0:30]
A holographic ghost projection of Miorine appears, but the two aren't able to touch each other. This represents Miorine being unable to get through Suletta's brainwashing (overdependence on her mother and Eri) to reach her.
[0:30: to 0:42]
Again Suletta is haunted by another ghost, this time its Aerial but the ghost is red.
[0:42 to 0:45]
Suletta with her eyes closed and hands almost in a prayer position, follow by a brief vision of a smiling Miorine against a reaching out to grab Suletta's hand. The bright white glow gives the scene the quality of a cherished memory, representing Suletta reminiscing about Miorine after she gets abandoned by her.
[0:45 to 1:01]
Absolutely beautiful sequence, which begins with Suletta conducting the GUND-BITS (she's actually the one controlling them when she pilots Aerial, not Eri).
[1:01 to 1:03]
Zoom in on a monochrome Miorine with the "sun" from the previous sequence framing her face. One of her pupils is obscured initially but is opened after the spark, which ties in with the lyrics for this segment. Probably about Miorine regretting her short-sighted decision to cut off Suletta for her own good, the same way her father did to her, and how Suletta helps her open her eyes again metaphorically.
Lyrics for this segment:
"The dreams I see with one eye are all things I never wished for
Let us look together, its within our reach"
[1:03 to 1:20]
Suletta and Miorine back together again, holding hands and spinning.
[1:20 to 1:30]
Projector turns off, leaving Suletta and a real non-ghost Miorine on the stage standing in the spotlight.
ED lyrics:
It's gone, the flower of my dreams blooms yellow and becomes a thorn
Can I move past my wounded wishes and protect you? At the farthest reaches
I sought after it, I sought after it, and now I'm losing it
I saw my colorless self and strangled it
The sentiments colored in red look beautiful
I stabbed through vague justice
This pain I gave birth to
Melts together with fate
Call me distortion
Hey, please forgive me
This knife is your beautiful future
Because it hurts
The dreams I see with one eye are all things I never even wished for
Let us look together, they're within our reach
It's gone, the flower of my dreams becomes a bright red star
This ending is just something else...

i really like this song and the visuals are fantastic, also i really like the blink and you'll miss it details.
Best ed of the season right here,it’s still close between this and Oshi No Ko but this one still clearly takes it. The combo of symbolism, animation and most importantly that amazing song with vocal style I barely see in anime made it the top choice for me.
Oshi's just feels like... I dunno, a standard ED for me? Feels like it's there cuz the show needs one.
And I mean, this one's here because the show needs it too, but this one's a story in and of itself. Any show can have Oshi's ED, only WFM can have this ED.
@@Peasham nah, there’s so much symbolism in Oshi No Ko’s,animation is great and that drop is amazing too. But Gundam Ed is still better.
The ending song is quite special to us. It seems to express some unbelievable messages. I guess.

Well, here's one of the best ED's this year I think. Another masterpiece that TK has worked on. Just add it to the top of the pile....
I still have chills listening to their soundtrack.
One does not skip this ending.
i can't explain the feeling this ending gives me. speechless
There are so many amazing things about this ED, but I just want to say how cool the visual of a human controlling/ dancing with gund-bits without a MS is.
the best part obviously when suletta control the gund bits
Tremendo Ending
