Saw them for the first time in Nashville earlier this month Opening for O.A.R. Unfortunately OAR couldn't perform because of severe weather (amphitheater) But Dispatch was amazing. Never listened to them before but now I love it. Music has great power.
I went to this concert, because my favorite band was opening. I knew next to nothing about Dispatch, but hearing this song live and singing it with an entire outdoor amphitheater of people was incredible! I'll never forget that moment.

For over 20 years now I've wondered where this song's lyrics come from. I always imagined it was an obscure poem about, (or possibly even from) the American Civil War. But that's based on absolutely nothing.
The General with the heart of gold was Confederate General Lee according to the song writer. His statue is being torn down everywhere in the country this year.
Yup, and in this song, that General told his men to go home. In real life, things went differently, and that's why that treasonous racist doesn't have statues anymore.

Record company is your favorite band? Awesome. We farm from NJ to see this show. Love both bands. A most place to see a concert. Red Rocks is amazing
I still remember this show like it was yesterday. So glad to have traveled there before the plandemic. Life was good then. It will again be.

@@oldrocker1970 he straight up did own slaves. He also helped quash slave rebellions before Virginia even ceded from the union.
