Hey what's up RUclips it's DirtyMobs back with some more Illaoi gameplay. I am versus Rumble in the top lane make sure to like the video and subscribe to the channel.
Especially since it’s all a completely predictable result of the map changes. They increased her tentacle range, which made her too formidable, so then they had to dramatically decrease her damage or mana to limit her. I really think the fix should have been to change the way tentacles spawn
@sagenugent5133 he was talking about presence of mind (precision tree). I'm talking about manaflow band (sorcery tree) since i see him running gathering storm over it.
@@distraction2803 He said in another video that manaflow band isn't enough to shore up the mana problem and if he feels like he needs it, he will just build tear.
Hey Dirty I been thinking about something, but I'm not exactly sure I know how to work the math out properly. But in my head I'm kind of feeling like Death's Dance is kind of a bait for Illaoi am I wrong on that? As far as I can tell it stops "Initial" burst and replaces that with DPS while were low. My concern is that as Illaoi we don't really care about "inital" burst cuz we like to fight low anyways, but once were low that new DPS from deaths dance might crash down on us and kill us when we are trying heal up in that window where enemy cooldowns are blown. Am I wrong on this? It's just gut feeling, I'm not a math guy, I could use advice here.
He builds Death Dance when he goes rather squishy and full damage, so I think the idea is just that with the build he uses he's not really banking on healing to survive, but just looking for a very quick burst to oneshot at least one heavy damage dealer. So the point is to have the damage mitigation happen before you even start taking it.
@ ahh I see okay that makes sense! In extended fights it’s not great, but high damage you want to kill quick and cleanse the damage rather than survive a long time
wow wait as a long time watcher of the goatmobs & illaoi one trick this never occured to me, granted I'm barely plat lol but like yea..what you're saying makes sense to me & I DO FEEL like that placebo takes affect sometimes when I'm low the burst dmg dealt to me stored up in DD crashes on me b4 my heals get out..BUT I do raise you Death's Dance golden attribute about getting a takedown, once you get that kill/assist deaths dance pays for itself like tenfold lmao which is why it's still very good & in a lot of situations where it's you against the whole enemy team, with your ult & flash onto a squishy carry I think you can afford to suffer the massive dps punishment just to get the reset + a lil healing off, but your brainstorming is very much so appreciated, love to see comments like this nowadays still trying to workshop illaoi to perfection~
Yeah things like this aren't my strong suit either. But I believe if we have DD and get bursted down to 30%, we'd be dead without it (I'm ignoring the opportunity cost of having a different, similar defensive item). The hope is the item gets us to the point where we can start healing in situations where we'd normally have just died. Tradeoff is to actually get survivability from the item, you need to kill someone quick to drop the burn damage. A similar, but different item would be Sterak's Gage. Still gives damage and survivability just in a different way. I think Sterak's is probably better if you have a well-rounded health build (TBC, Shojin, MR Tank item, Armor health item).
@ Beautiful love that. The distinction between the role steraks plays vs DD makes sense and I feel like it completely simplifies the situations we can build them. thanks for taking the time to respond dude I appreciate that
@distraction2803 ok imagine you want to build second armor pen item to apply more armor reduction what would it be ? are lethality items like edge of night and voltaic cyclosword armor pen ?
@@distraction2803passive slams do apply the slow. The main issue is that you want the slow to happen before they are below 50%, to land your skillshots and everything. Past that the target should be already a dead man walking
@@alirh1145 It sounds like you just want to go Lethality Illaoi for shits n gigs, while I wouldn't suggest it, if you really must, check out Lethality Yorick builds for a comparable setup. You should probably skip out on the Profane Hydra though.

It's depressing how squishy we have to build now just to do the same amount of damage as pre-nerfs Illaoi

use E first before R when they are chasing u , u will get extra tentacle smash ...
nah this leona was sooo good
Why don't you go manaflow band secondary? I can't play Illaoi without it.
He said in the video since manaflow got reworked it doesn’t feel as good

E max only in aram boys
is Serylda's Grudge a good item on illaoi against champs like tahmkench ?
black cleaver is typically better as i don't belive tentacles apply the slow (they don't count as abilities)
