Recognized for his exceptional artistic qualities as a Classical Violin Virtuoso, Geza Hosszu Legocky was invited to take part in the first Martha Argerich Project Festival in 2002, in Lugano, Switzerland, and ever since, with the great success he regularly appears in this prestigious festival. In 2003, Geza was engaged in a closing concert of the second edition of the Martha Argerich Project, presenting himself for the first time as a leader and a founder of the ensemble "5 DeVils". As a result of an instantaneous success, their performance was released by the EMI Classics. Since then, 5 DeVils were broadcasted all over the world by the Radio 3, BBC etc. In 2005 The DeViLs was invited to participate in two concerts in the celebrated Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and was honored with starguest as pianistes Martha Argerich and Gabriela Montero.
Shortly after the success in Teatro Colon, the National Argentinian Television invited the 5 DeViLs to perform in a Broadcast Show for one and half million TV watchers.
Some of the following engagements included concerts in Brussels (Belgium) at the Four Season Music Festival, at the Aegina international Music Festival in Greece, and in Livorno (Italy) at the Teatro Mori. Geza Hosszu Legocky and The 5 DeVils new CD "The Magic Bow" is in preparation for release. The DeVils symbolize an astonishing virtuosity, spontaneity, and an extraordinary ability to transmit the music to the heart of the listeners, playing the repertoire from miniatures of Paganini, or Boulanger, to dazzling Hungarian, Romanian or Balkan traditional folk tunes, to the attractive Django's swing.

These are a series of traditional Romanian folkloric tunes starting with: Cine a pus carciuma in drum (You Tube it).
Great performance.
I love this version a lot more than the Roby Lakatos version which is more jazzy, western and more urbane. This archaic eastern style is more down to earth with a lot more energy and gypsy vitality and this is how actual gypsy musicians performed their music for more than a century in the Carpathian Basin. Just absolutely amazing!
Jewish kleismer style spread from Andalusia to siberia almost . 500 years old

what do you mean by ""were??""
some people seem to think that gypsies only existed a long time ago in fairytales..
Gypsymusic, traditions and people is alive and coming strong... i see it everyday
perfekt exelent
@spellblinded The first part, up to 2.27 is called "Cine-a pus circiuma-n drum?" and it means "Who placed the tavern on my path?"
BRAWO 👏🏼
The Jazz"golden age"unfortunately is gone. Jazz became now a music for some elite. This kind of music (first,romanian song"Who put the pub in my way?"and second one,a movie music with romanian traditional sounds) has deep roots..few thousand years..if we talk about romanian traditional music. By it,s thracian origine, it influenced all traditional musics from Balkan region (anybody may observ the similarities) and later,the jewish klezmer music.Here is a band of gipsy hungarians musicians
yeeeeeeev lacsóóó !!!!!
@first2nd2002: it's called "Cine-a pus carciuma-n drum?"
PS : Sometimes in Romania, jazz musicians use also these traditional sounds in their compositions.
That's "Le grand blond avec une chaussure noire". Anyway, grrrrrrreat musicians!
csabika de jó vagy meg a többi is
Maybe it's gypsy and Hungarian music, but my Jewish soul says it's my music, too. 100%.
Take it easy.
Jajj de jóóóóóóóóóóóóóóó!!!!!
Se numeste Cine a pus carciuma n drum!
¿Cuándo vuelven a Bucaramanga? 😍 es la mejor presentación a la que he ido
igy van egyet értek a nogyogyasz urral !! ;))
"Summertime" is not just an American song. It's Gershwin's song. Similarly this is not just a "Romanian" song. That would imply it's a Romanian folk song from Romania. This is a song composed by the great Romanian composer Vladimir Cosma for the french comedy with the same title.
szatmar666 bro romanians are not gipsys
@@mariogrondzi5470 ...they just looks like ones...
Gershwin's music is Jewish music even if he wrote it in Africa or Sydney.
comeon, 800 more views to have more than Roby Lakatos :D

Romanians are an inspiring culture and a lot of this music is in fact, like Part3 the Hora set, is Romanian but not this particular piece and I would say these boys play more Hungarian music than Romanian plus a lot of Russian with other Central/Eastern European components. Ultimately Hungarian and Romanian music are very similar because both are played largely by gypsy musicians and both nations have roots in Transylvania where these 2 traditions meet.
you left out the fact that Jewish
Clayzmer europe culture much more is wider and older
cavale romale oda hin jaroka 2
Romanian song, 100%
2:25 what is name original song ?
@4ud10junk that's what I said :)
well, i'm not sure, but what i think is that it's actually inspired by romanian folclore, not by gypsy music....
