One thing that i can tell you is dont reload too much. This game is focused on arcade realistic shooter where 1-2 shot will kill the enemy and you preserve the mag that you shot before. So if you shot 4 times then reload, that 26 rounds magazine will intact and used eventually. You wouldnt want to reload with 5 rounds left in the magazine when there's a big attack ;))
To add to this, dropping empty or very low mags via speed reloads (done by double tapping the corresponding button) will help ensure you don't end up loading 2 bullets when you need 15.
You guys should Collab with "GLID Gaming" you should check out their YT channel, they are real royal commandos and they also do collaboration with real U.S. Marines.
I really like this game, it definitively shines when you have friends that you can apply some tactics with. If you enjoyed it you should deffo try it with some mates.
While it's gonna be harder, the game is WAY better when you're playing with other real people instead of the bots. You can download mods to try and increase the difficulty of the bots and such but there's no denying that the bots in this game are indeed shit lol. I also recommend the ISMC mod for the game but I'm not even sure if you can mod insurgency on consoles yet.
@Matthew Harrup Graphics don't matter it's about the story, gameplay, the details, and the love the creators put in the game If you hate a game for having bad graphics which is stupid you can but you need to understand graphics don't matter they aren't what make a game a game.
Some tips For you moving forward.. Don’t reload frequently like call of duty, insurgency gives you a certain number of magazines, and if you reload a fresh mag without emptying your previous one, you’ll end up using that mag later. Attachments are your guns best friends. The guns are more realistic so the attachments can effect your weapon a lot. When you’re in a game you pick a class. I find playing differently for each class helps immerse me in the game and have a ton more fun. Really happy to see you try this game it’s really fun and super intense at times!!
insurgency sandstorm is still my favorite "arcade" milsim game, btw, this game is as the devs described as a 'game if cod went milsim'. I want to see you play more :)
This is one of my top 3 games I want to see on your channel. You've figured it out quite well given you had almost zero instruction. That first round was amazing for the default loadout
Got a handful of tips for you Luke (and everyone else) 1. Sound is a big part of this game especially PVP, If you wanna stay quiet press ALT to slow walk - that way enemies won't be able to hear you. 2. Every gunshot and explosion has a different sound and echo depending on where it happened: Explosions inside closed rooms will be very loud from the inside but muffled on the outside while gunshots out in the open will have an echo depending on their locations and more. Use that to your advantage to understand the enemy's location. 3. Make sure you dont over encumber yourself with useless gear, otherwise you will move slower and run out of stamina faster. 4. Light and Heavy armor only protects you from explosion shrapnel, bullets will still kill you in 1-4 hits. 5. Pistols are life savers, especially if you equip a fast draw holster with it. 6. If you play PVE, use the "Intimidate" voice command from time to time, most bots will "respond" to you and reveal their position as a result. 7. Smoke grenades are dirt cheap and very useful for team play and obstructing the view of enemy snipers/campers. Use them more. 8. If you choose to snipe or suppress a position with MG fire, make sure you have either a suppressor or flash hider attached so it won't reveal your position. 9. Reposition more often. If you choose to peek the same corner over and over again, 90% chance you'll be killed easily. 10. Use speed reload (tap reload button) only if you have one in the chamber or an empty mag, otherwise there's no reason to waste ammo. 11. Gas masks are very important, not only they protect you from tear gas but they also muffle your voice and prevent your character from coughing and revealing your position when inhaling smoke.
I recommend you take a gas mask almost every time. It'll help you resist chemical mortar strikes and Your character won't cough when you're breathing in the smoke from a smoke grenade, thus concealing your position.
Gunplay in this game is awesome, hold reload to show aprox. how much ammo you have left, your magazines keep so if you reload after shooting 10 shots you still have a mag missing 10 rounds in your pouches. You can double tap reload to perform a speed reload but you will not retain the magazine you are replacing. if your magazine is not empty when you reload you will have one in the chamber if your reload is interrupted. This happened a few times in the vid when you probably thought you reloaded and only had one shot. Quote from COD: switching to your sidearm is always faster than reloading (especially when you equip the quickdraw holster, if you need it you need it fast). Also hipfire isn't a cone, you can pointshoot just like you would training for close quarters though its a little easier IRL and takes some getting used to in the game. Throw a laser on your primary and play around with it in the test range, eventually you won't need a laser and you can drop bodies pretty quick without ADS all the time.
Also tip: You can scavenge magazines from dropped weapons, friendly or not, 8 weapons share the same STANAG mag, you can even use drum mags from a scavenged weapon even if you're using regular ones. Also another Tip: Don't stand in front of doors that often, these things can kill you if some idiots decided to kick it down while you're in front of it, of course, this can go your way as well, kicking a door open can kill an enemy as well, it's satisfying when you do it and not them.
Insurgency sandstorm’s local play aren’t the best since its supposed to be for online coop and multiplayer. I recommend playing Insurgency 2014 for a better local play experience. Also i want to welcome to you to the world of tactical shooters. Lastly watch out for laser guided molotovs.
I think the easiest way to have a play around with the guns is with the PVP Domination Since it's more focused on fast paced combat, and you have access to all weapons, you can try out all sorts of different options to find what you like Also a few tips that'll come in handy: You can pick up dropped weapons. This can definitely come in handy as certain weapons share ammo and magazines, so in case for example you started off with a paltry M16 with no attachments but an enemy you just took down had a souped up M4 or even SA80, you can use it instead, very useful if playing PVP as an Insurgent as the M16A2 is the cheapest weapon they have, most players on Security end up using M4s, MK18s and the lot at least in my experience. Taking weapons that aren't compatible with your munitions, you can steal if another enemy has a similar weapon as long as you hold down the 'Take' button. Most weapons will kill very quickly when hitting centre mass, certain weapons based on caliber and performance based on stats (though not always the case), some players or AI will use Heavy Armour. Slower mobility for an extra shot or few to the chest. A cheeky headshot of course gets around that While the Co-op can be a bit hit or miss, I think it really does help get into the game. PVP tends to have a lot more risks involved for certain approaches, but Insurgency Sandstorm is a game that's a ton of fun.
Definitely need a part 2 of this. Please make it happen mate 😁, love the content! 🍻 Edit- yea, the Nokia insurgents in this game on Co-op mode is scary as hell 💯.
Shotguns with AP slugs and laser sights are over powered. Hipfire one shot someone who is trying to snipe you is so satisfying. Also, partial mags get put back into your vest so you will eventually use the rest of that mag again when you run low on ammo. And my last tip is to customize your guns, sights make it much easier to stay alive when people shoot at you from behind a rock far away. I highly going full cheese mode and use the MG42 with suppressor and hipfiring it with a laser module. Also if you want to carry more ammo or wear more armor then you will walk and run slower with a smaller stamina bar. Edit: Also double tapping reload with do a quick reload, but you lose that mag and all of the ammo in that mag when you do it. The only way to get that ammo back is dying or going to a resupply box.
bit of background on the game - Its been out for a couple of years on PC and got put out out on console very recently - its a realistic arcade cqb shooter tips - double tap reload for a fast reload like if your basically empty and quickly need a fresh mag Attachements and gear are very important there are aspects like wait that need to be considered but some RUclipsrs like Sick snipes does an amazing job on explaining attachments, explosives, optics, guns and general tips I hope you cover this game more
Would love to see more of this, definitely play with people who know tactics, will make the game so much better! Setting controls to modern is also best for the more classic fps feel!
I love that you don't have to mag dump the enemy to take them down. And Luke was laying them down with cheeky head shots lol. Good stuff bro. Liked the vid 👍
BTW the way, check your mags and ammo amount by holding X or reload. You can quickly Reload by double press x but it will completely discard the mag and all the bullets in it.
This game. Verdun. Red orchestra 2 (and probably more). Those games are very realistic and fun to play. Verdun and red orchestra 2 are my favourites tho. Since those games are set in ww1 and ww2 and somewhat more chaotic. Especially verdun with its trench warfare and the mustard gas
You have no idea how many times I've called this game "Stan Storm" xD Also there is a slowed down mode in the form of Hardcore coop. And if mods come you can make Sandstorm WAY more tactical and communication focused.
You should do a collaboration with a youtuber called GLID Gaming, he's a Royal Marine Commando who uses real world tactics in games like this. It'd be an amazing crossover and we'd all love to see it!
Aw damn, man I was late to this upload lol, but Luke this game is super gnarly dude! Not gonna lie you've kinda been missing out haha. Played the hell out of the first Insurgency Game back in the day, and tho I can't play it much because of my fam nowadays this game is top tier for multiplayer. Coop and PVP in Insurgency is such a thrill! Would love to see you and the boys take it on, I watched some other Royal Marines take on this game some time ago and it was pretty cool! Loved the video! Nice to see the Channel still lit!
Little warning this isn't like cod or battlefield where you have a ammo pile you have actual magazines that say you shoot 15 out of a 30 round mag and you tac load you will still have a mag with 15 rounds you can check how many mags you have and the rough number of bullets in your current mag and next 2 mags by holding the reload button
Hey OriginalHuman! I would request you to The Walking Dead Telltale Series, It has a total of 4 seasons with terrific story and gameplay! It's been a while since its been released but maybe you'll like it!
With whats coming out the next few months I doubt we will see it any time soon. I do hope he gets to it eventually, great story. Especially Season 1-2.
Just a bit disappointed we got an AI game for the episode but not complaining, glad you're onto this game! Excited to see player v player scenarios, as those go a lot differently!
There’s actually a lot of communication online so you should definitely hop on that lol you’d like it for sure, and you don’t have to unlock any guns just classes on any mode other than domination, domination is one class with a almost if not all weapons available
Don’t forget to look both ways before crossing anything. Better be safe than sry. Ik you’re adjusting still to the pace of the game while also trying out a whole bunch of weapons with various attachments. Take notice when you’re playing with other pro players cuz they actually get the job done quickly so the pacing could also be fast. Just letting you know so you don’t end up realizing it late & fall behind. Pretty easy to know who’s pro cuz of the ranks when checking the score or leaderboard. From my experience, I stick with them as a beginner to help increase my chances of surviving & to keep helping so that it’s not too risky when they go on their own. Btw, in coop, you lose when all players are dead. Friendly bots don’t count if ever you play them on whatever server/mod.
would love to command ai, like a mode in mp where there is 3 teams, bravo, delta, alpha. You can choose one team to command, giving orders like "stay close" "advance" "look that way"
This is game was actually made for PC first then ported to console. Not sure how the controls would be but I feel you would have a better experience on kb+m instead of controller. Take note on the reloads too lol. This is not a typical FPS with numbers as your bullet count. Ammo is magazine/clip based.
I prefer Squad over Insurgency Sandstorm because of no bullets coming out of red dot sights and you take much more fall damage. Matches are on average less than an hour and have plenty of solo play opportunities.
Change you controller layout to modern, take some time to mess around and personalize the rest of your settings. Tutorial should also give 1,000 credits for completing. You don’t need to level up to unlock weapons or attachments, only the specific classes that give abilities. So utilize your load out points to add any attachments or weapons and equipment you’d like to use.
Been playing it on the One X lately and love it so far ; cannot wait for mods or more content. However from testing in my friend pool I've noticed that 2 out of 3 people playing on Xbox have alot of crashes lately. Hopefully they fix it soon.
One thing that i can tell you is dont reload too much. This game is focused on arcade realistic shooter where 1-2 shot will kill the enemy and you preserve the mag that you shot before. If you want your beloved L85 you play the advisor class!
We would absolutely nail this game tag teaming it
Hell yeah you lot would crush the game
Man he made his character look like you 🤣😂
You guys should Collab with "GLID Gaming" you should check out their YT channel, they are real royal commandos and they also do collaboration with real U.S. Marines.
Looks familiar
Welcome to the world of fun that is tactical shooters,
Give zero Hour, Squad, Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose a go If you enjoyed this one
hell let loose would be so good if it ran better than a potato. i9 10900k, 3080ti. 40-70fps.
Have you played it since they did their first optimisation rework patch about a month ago now?
I'm on a laptop with i9, 2080, and getting 120-150fps
Before you say anything, I know I know tutorials are a mortal sin but this game's tutorial is actually very helpful and so is the range
I concur.
Agreed I spent a few hours in the range getting used to the mechanics etc
I really like this game, it definitively shines when you have friends that you can apply some tactics with. If you enjoyed it you should deffo try it with some mates.
Yeah. It’s certainly a change to typical nighttime, special forces etc. Instead sandstorm sets you in a more urban battlefield
@Matthew Harrup doesn't need to be better. The core is gameplay mechanics
@Matthew Harrup Graphics don't matter it's about the story, gameplay, the details, and the love the creators put in the game If you hate a game for having bad graphics which is stupid you can but you need to understand graphics don't matter they aren't what make a game a game.
tbh thats how some of those guys over there fight
Mod support isn't in console yet
@Matthew Harrup "graphics look so bad"
Guess you've never played Arma.
Some tips For you moving forward..

Sound design is the best part of this game, a huge focal point of it
I have almost 400 hours in this game on pc, it's one of my favorite games I've played in a decade!
The forgotten sibling of this game, Day of Infamy remains underrated
you think they'll make something like this for Day on Infamy? Improved Unreal Engine graphics and maybe even Eastern or Pacific Front maps?
@@jrapcdaikari probably not. But id stay hopeful
I’d love to play this with you mate!
I recommend giving Squad another video of you completing the pre-deployment training and further gameplay.

Welp, good luck Luke. And try not to rage after possibly dying like a hundred times or so.
insurgency sandstorm is still my favorite "arcade" milsim game, btw, this game is as the devs described as a 'game if cod went milsim'. I want to see you play more :)
Arcade? Pshhh
Cod wishes it was like this
@@ramirez4456 it is arcade, thats no milsim like squad or even arma.
@@ramirez4456 and THE DEVS said its cod gone milsim. Thats even the line they used to advertise the game.
This is one of my top 3 games I want to see on your channel. You've figured it out quite well given you had almost zero instruction. That first round was amazing for the default loadout
Ohhh yes I been asking for this. I would recommend COOP so you can learn a bit on the game, guns and such.
Was actually planning on buying this game... good to know I ain't the only one. Now I will see a raw reaction towards it and judge it too.💯
Got a handful of tips for you Luke (and everyone else)

If you want more teamwork and realism I recommend hell let loose/squad/project reality always guys on comms talking you through the whole game
I wish Luke would learn to look up at rooftops as he misses shed loads of enemy. Very much like an updated CSGO
I recommend you take a gas mask almost every time. It'll help you resist chemical mortar strikes and Your character won't cough when you're breathing in the smoke from a smoke grenade, thus concealing your position.

Insurgency is a game where real world military tactics shine. Use what you remember from your time in the Royal Marine and play it like that.
FYI you can get the L85A2/SA80 with the Susat scope along with the bipod grip if you go with advisor class
Insurgency sandstorm’s local play aren’t the best since its supposed to be for online coop and multiplayer. I recommend playing Insurgency 2014 for a better local play experience. Also i want to welcome to you to the world of tactical shooters. Lastly watch out for laser guided molotovs.

The survival mode in this game is a lot of fun
Been playing it on the One X lately and love it so far ; cannot wait for mods or more content. However from testing in my friend pool I've noticed that 2 out of 3 people playing on Xbox have alot of crashes lately. Hopefully they fix it soon.
Those thumbnails
Im so hyped for this
Edit: Just finished watching it and im glad you like this game as much as i do it really is amazing
Insurgency is definitely tougher by yourself
Would love to watch you and other RM youtubers like GLid tear this one up
I was really hoping you would go for the british camo but you spent it all on coloured backpack and gloves lol
You should play with GLID Gaming. He's a royal marine too and plays very tactically and realistic with other marines(us&uk) I think you'd enjoy it!
Doesnt he have a pc ? The game would run so much smoother as the game is still capped at 60fps even on the series X/PS5
Yeah he has a pc
Unless his pc is not as strong as his console I don’t know why
USE THE AUG cost very little plus has less recoil as well plus don't waste points on armor use them on frags and flashbangs
Try this one with ISMC Mod! It'll be a hell of a fun!
If you play this on pc someday, you should try ISMC mod. Makes the already good game better, with more weapons, attachments etc
Definitely play this more. Get your buddies
Thought there would be a story mode glad I saw some gameplay before I possibly buyed.
Awesome game. Remember your gas mask, and create a good loadout and your good.
i think you should've played the original first, insurgency 2014 is such a vibe
so you know reloading doesnt refil your mag it just switches to another mag. so its better to not reload till you have no ammo.
Marine Dad, this game is the most realistic fps. One bullet can kill you.
going to war with no head protection bit risky XDXD PLZ PLAY MORE!!!
YESS YESS YESSSS WE NEED MORE WITH THE DIFFERENT MODESSS
Most of the hardcore tactical gamers and people with mics are in hardcore but be aware of the friendly fire
I laso just started playing this game. It’s very difficult at first
