The bike hauler fabrication begins 🤟🏼

- Nathan has framed up the platform for the motorcycle using 1" square tubing now he's going to engineer the roller system that will allow the platform to slide in and out of the channel. We can't use caster wheels because it will cause the platform to be too high which won't allow the front of the bike to slide under the package tray area. What Nathan has designed should work perfect 🤞

You really f***** up and original car that was beautiful
Nathan is not only very good at his skills, but he is very accommodating and easy to work with 👍
Abortion, sad
I can't see the wheels working very well !😮
I know that Chad cuts most metal by eye but I m amazes that he doesn't have a metal chop saw in the shop.
He has a chop saw but I don't know why he won't put a metal cutting blade on it
He’s use to using a angle grinder, like a personal opinion. I’d rather have a angle grinder myself because you can tote that to where ever you need it. You can lay the car on the table and cut it with a chop saw duhh.
@@matthewhutchins4284 You can ?
Most people don't know that chop saw runs to fast for metal cutting blades which burns up the blades. If you don't believe it check on the rpm of a chop saw and that of a steel blade!
I don’t get what you guys don’t use a metal chop saw watching Nathan cutting that round stock with a zip cut and get it straight is hard to watch. Chop saw perfect angle is 5 seconds. Round. Square or angle stock. Just sayin ✌🏼
Send them a chop saw and see if they use it???
@loren1610 send a broken one, and then they would repair and use 😅
Use what ya got
Chewed to bits 😂
It's impressive how straight they are with a grinder though. They both make it look easy. I'd be wonky with a chop saw 😂
Haha this build is ridiculous
I can see Fina is loving all the affection, she has a great connection with Nathan.
Loving this build great work.
Tube wheels won't work. Need proper wheels with bearings.
More working hard not smart. I could have had the rollers cut accurate in way less time with the sawzall. Chad is wearing off on Nate 🙄
Or he could have bought some bearings, to use as wheels.
Sounds like Nathan is doing a root canal on Doug 🦷🦷🦷
Chad, for the Flintstone rollers idea!!!!!, you could of used 6020 bearings to take the weight of the bike, and it will roll a lot nicer, and also can be lubricated with the end caps removed there is a possible that the weight could bind up on the seem on the pipe rollers plus you'll need more rollers, as you haven't considered the weight to the ease of rolling
Not to mention that those pipe rollers could be the source of an annoying rattle
A mere abortion of something that will just barely do the job intended..
Make it a universal bike hauler so that any size bike (within reason) can be hauled on it.
I love your "on the fly" mentality. You can see the future of the project as you go. True vision
Why do you all not utilize
the chop saw? i remember chad used it to cut the mounts he made and the chop saw would cut round pipe easier and straighter then with a cut off disk. imho that is.
No Bud, the ONLY reason you ask questions is to make money off of RUclips. You don't give a flying fk about what anyone here thinks. It's all about getting your views.
Fina needs a 'let me out' yip
We like your commentary Chad but having Doug and Nate in the shop really adds to your show! It's fun seeing your whole vision and your trust in the guys. We do miss Aiden
Just a thought have Doug video Nate in the front & Joelene video Chad. That way we can hear even more good one liners. Kooll adventure again.
You have f..kt up a beautiful vehicle. I'm not knocking your skills or the other guys at all. Its just a shame to see the lines of that car end up as a bike hauler to where.
Great lines on the car! Grinder noise !! Looks like you will need to work out how to get the voices without the grinder noises. A new problem with a second worker.
the car was better before
Nathan needs his own RUclips channel I would definitely watch.... much love chad and Jolene y'all are awesome
I've unsubscribed twice during this build. Cutting up that car was just not sittin' right with me. But here I am again , resubscribed ( after not missing any episodes) and liking what ya'll are doing to the car. Keep on keepin' on!!!!
Kind of feel the same way..wow..cut up a perfectly good car..you could have restored and sold in California for thousands of dollars..to the car collects it's one less car out there..makes your ride worth more..as a classic..bitter sweet this car is cut to crap now interesting what he builds now..the car has no value anymore sad..but that what Chad does makes his own so see how this turns out it's pretty much a old car build to a El Camino..look..he definitely has a lot of cars to be painted wow .but it's there world I guess. Unsubscribe also but interesting what he does. Metal worker yes but. See what the man does I guess.. 😂
@@markkibbey4026 Actually it would be a Ranchero (By Ford)
It's kind of not new to us older guys..hell I was just a small kid but I do remember seeing the chop shops back in the day... 😂..faded out through the years..I mean it's a cool art but useing classic cars in these times wow...but it's nothing really new to us I guess let Chad express himself and the art of making a custom car or truck...some of his builds are pretty cool I must say...Chad carry on .. 😂..will see how this looks..I don't know about this one ..?????...make it great dude.. hopefully..
It's literally a car wreck, you don't want to look but you do . I have unsubscribed.
@@markkibbey4026I don't think chad makes his dollars selling these projects but through ad revenue on RUclips. His daily shows would probably net way more than any expensive full restoration ever could.
Can't get over how good she's lookin'.
The Jaguar top combined with the lowered suspension gives it a salt flat racer look... 👍🏁
A REALLY GOOD LOOKING SALT FLAT RACER.
Go get some skateboard wheels for the bike slide. You can just drill a hole and bolt them on and they have roller bearings plus a urethane wheel.
Or just use roller bearings bolted into the inside of the frame and they would still run on the inside of the angle iron.
Nate took measurements yesterday with the idea being to keep the front fender of the bike below the body line, so maybe skateboard/inline skate wheels might be too large a diameter to keep the fender below the body line.
Skateboard wheels, that's a great idea, and make it 100x easier than metal on metal wheels.....for anyone wondering how....just think how metal on metal wheels with no bearings would function on a skateboard
I have been a subscriber for a long time while sometimes Chad frustrates me when he cuts up perfectly good cars but when you realise his vision then see the finished product it blows me away...wow what craftsmanship & extra work or boo boos you always suprise me.I will say again tho i wish you left the Hudson Terraplane apart from that i love everything you have taught us all.Chads definitely not afraid of extra work to achieve & accomplish his dreams & ideas & turn it into a of piece of art.Joelene is a rock star with the camera.I live everyday waiting to see whats next...greetings from sth Australia 🇦🇺 👍 ♥ 🦘🪃..when are you guys coming back to Australia....
Why don’t you use the plasma cutter for wheel holes instead grinder
Scrap the square tray for the bike and make a tube track to run up with the wheels and a lift up rear section. Add a boot lid to the fold up rear part of the ramp so when there’s no bike it would look cool. Love the jag roof keep it rounded not some nasty square roll input tray. You can roll some tube
Why don’t you just use a piece of channel for the motorcycle instead of that big frame?
That would also cost more than 3 cents, round it up to a nickel. He is in Canada.
@@chrisallen2005 I have a motorcycle trailer that hauls three motorcycles all it has is channels. They are making a easy job hard.
@@john2359 I did not critique your idea of using channel. My critique is that Chad won't spend any money to do a job properly.
@@chrisallen2005 Yes sir I know that I was just commenting on how my trailer was made. I am 65 years old and been pulling motocross bikes around most of my life. You have yourself a good day now.
Nice plan for the rollers Nate!
Suggestion.
Put a roller at the rear on the angle iron frame rather than multiple on the square tube platform so it supports the platform the entire way as it rolls out.
You may also want to think about an upper "rail" that goes on an angle from front to back for the front end of the platform to follow so as you pull the platform out it slowly allows it to pivot and lowering the rear end to the ground.
The boat rollers he buys..he cuts them for body mounts
The queen doesn't use a filter.she really is that good looking
Nathan rocks
Mad Chad….you are going to need rollers….I know as I did the same for my Honda350 years ago. As the bike had different weights from center you need the frame trapped or you need three people to slide the bike in….just saying….love all you guys do! Steve
" the reason being " there is no rhyme or reason
Basically
Great Job Chad and team. - I am not sure the sled is strong enough for the weight of the timber and the bike when it pivots at that ramp transition you are talking about. That triumph is what 280 lbs maybe 300 lbs and the timber deck and you are using 1" square stock. - it might bend when you want it to tip. Do you have some right angle to add as a brace along the top side to give added strength?
Love the look and cannot wait to see the finished product.
The roof kinda slopes forward which is fine..but the fenders and everything else kinda slopes back... I have a KISS method for that too...but itll cost you😉
Love what yus are doing though,
I would put the rollers on the track, stationary. Then the ramp could always be on a roller. Versus being on the moving platform....
Roof looks good, drop top was the way to go. Chad did not want that extra work to put a functional drop top in. So he went with his go to hardtop. The car does look good...
Chat I’m thinking the center of the back pan is going to hit the bike trey cuz you put a role on it and put the role out and up just trying to help beautiful job from what I see anyhow
I just luv how the boss keeps checking everyone out such a great looking pup
The rollers will bottom out as they drop down to last section of the angle iron. May need several mor rollers
Its like taking an old guitar that has survived all these years, cutting it up, reshaping the body, steam punking it or whatever. Id rather cobble a guitar together from old parts I had laying around. I have old radios that have survived, If they can be restored I wouldn't dream of stripping them for parts to turn into guitar amps. Its not my car but its hard to watch another car that could have been restored to its former glory, cherished and driven by someone be modified like this.
I am starting to see the Jag roof working. I really do believe that if you matched the beautiful green paint and redid the whole car you would have a jewel. Good luck.
I’m not a patina guy because I hate to see metal rust more.
The bike would go in and out of the hauler a lot smoother if the platform was slightly arched. The middle of the platform would be closer to the bottom of the bike and I think it would roll in and out a lot nicer.
Hauling bikes is what trailers are for. Love the roof, long rear deck. Leave the bike out.
Supervisor Fina is really interested in todays work. Good dog. 😂
Fina needs welding goggles , lol
Adding 450 pounds plus the rolling platform. Will require more leaves in the rr springs.
Want to be really slick, have a removable cover(trunk lid) so when not hauling you can put the cover back on and be a cruiser as well ! Then it will be the real shisell
Chad is still entertaining and his work is unique but he has lost the plot on this build and ruined a classic antique.
The full side view of the car at the start of the video looks great. The roof and the lines of the back really suit.
Just make the frame pivot when gets slightly half way
Yeah, don't want frame & bike being able to accidentally slide completely out while unloading. Just my opinion, with market full of wheel and roller options, why make rollers out of iron pipe?
-Ok exactly where the hell are you going to haul a bike to in a 38 Ford coupe with the original motor? Where is that car hauling that bike that the bike couldnt get to on its own? This makes no sense at all
I feel a little sheepish saying this, but you have me hooked on your projects. I’m like a junkie needing his fix. You owe it to us to make this car a roadster when it is not hauling a bike
I'm hooked on the jaguar and Elvis build ....hope to see them finished 😊
Unfortunately, I don’t think he owes anyone anything 😂
One hour of dueling grinders!
I don't see how the frame is going to transition the drop from flat to angle down without the frame hanging up on the angled transition. What am I missing?
this reminds me of my movie/theater builds, Some artsy designer comes up with an idea and you have to figure out build on the fly and be done by a deadline. 5 guys in the shop and you will get 10 ideas but one guy gets put in charge and you follow his plan whether you believe in it or not, Difference is that we had accounts with Grainger and McMaster but also bins of parts/hardware from years of past projects
Oil will be the key
Seems like the Floor angle Iron will hit against the movable rack that the Bike is on when it gets to the back drop ???
Paul Bacon Kustom works from the UK is doing a bike hauler
At least put an (North) American bike into it. I could live with that.
Its ok to use what ya got but....those homemade wheels! , use some dime on new wheels now that you are doing it
You didn't take the easy way out bud. Just as much work doing the roadster as the hauler & I'm liking this hauler build. I had mixed feelings in the beginning but bro it is looking sweet!! Can't wait till it's finished. Your doing a fabulous job bud. Keep up the awesome work as well as natedogg. He is doing awesome too.
If he finishes
What happens if he runs out of coat hangers?
The "wheels" need to be on the bottom Angle Iron to work effectively
Like watching grass grow 😂
Chad is not big on prepping before the video. He could prefab a lot of stuff, make the hour more productive.
What about using skateboard bearings in the wheels so it will roll better
And you mean "parcel tray"
Not package tray😉
That’s why they made the tape measure you Bone 🦴 Head start watching Nath and you might learn something or better still watch Ian Rs video’s now there’s A Man that knows he’s Stuff 🤓🤔😉👍🏻🤔🇦🇺
Thanks 😊 you’ll only get the Truth from me 👍🏻😎
In trying to let myself know what’s going on…..perfect chad
Puppy trying to figure out what's going on..
That's going be hot loving ur latest builds
What is that measuring device Nate is using?😜
How in the world did Chad come up 🆙 with this ugly what if.
I’m still thinking. Electric. Winch would be a good. Idea. We are all getting to old to struggle. Good job. Good to have. Nate. And Doug. To help. Nice chaps. C. Uk
Hey all ! Think Jolene trained Fina to keep an eye on Nathan lol and let's hope with the weight of the Bike will allow the wheels to roll easily. Don't really think the frame will roll down at the angle part without catching on the bottom of the frame as it goes forward ; but hopefully ! Back to Ontario!
HAHAHAH yaaouch yaouch yaaaouch
Looking lots better...think Nathan is doin a good job fabricating that base for the motorcycle...the back of the car is shaping up...I think it will be rather unique..😊..cya ya tomorrow Hiltz Team...thank you Jolene for you excellent camera work
Nate is very good help for you Chad and Jolene 🤷♂️👍
Fina wants out. she has been trying to get attention for a bit now.
Chad and Nate work so great together really compliment each other nice to watch and also when we get a sprinkling of Doug in the mix
I love the lowering of the car . And i think that roof will look great when finished. The bike thing doesn’t really matter, you could have some fun with it like that or easily change it back in a few years.
Still skeptical about this one.
I have an idea for you Chad. Make the empty space in the wheel wells a TOOL BOX. You can store the spare tire for the car too.
YES.... Tell Chad AND Jolene about 30's ERA PACKARD COUPES , with GOLF BAG compartment Doors..... JUST behind the "B" Pillar. I owned a 37' Packard Coupe. LET JOLENE KNOW.... Is a NICE and useful addition. There IS room..... you nailed it. TOTAL class suggestion. Thanks wagorak :)
Be Careful so that the Sparks from Cutting Metal dosent Catch the Car Seats on Fire!
Tonneau cover would look great
Consider garage door wheels and track ..
now what ? the paint doesnt match. o my.
I still think Chad should build a visor from the left over piece of the roof he cut off
Jag roof really looks great so it will be a jag Ford
My mate uses a similar idea to pull on his 400 lb traction engine into his pickup he uses an electric winch to pull it up and lower it it's going to be cool cheers Goofy guy Australia
A drop saw would be very handy for those cuts. Just saying.
Bike hauler is shaping up nicely Love the whole talented crew Chad, Jolene, Nate and Doug
Must be a way to cut in and out of each other’s mics so one doesn’t over lap the other. It is hard to concentrate on one person when the other is grinding or using the air grinder.
I would put some tefllon strips down on the angle iron so that the rollers would run smoother and quieter.💡
Where is the college guy.
Motorized ramp comes out load your bike and goes back in
Nathan is the bomb
REPEAT IT AGAIN!! 😂
