13:26 "Look to the stars my darling baby boys, Life is strange and vast. Filled with wonders and joys, Face each new sun with eyes clear and true, Unafraid of the unknown, because I'll face it all with you." - Della Duck
When I heard the music in the duck tales reboot I had to rewind the scene a few times to make sure I was actually hearing what I thought I was hearing. Needless to say I freaked out
Good list mate. I appreciate the fact that, as you were likely to hear the themes on a level anything up to maybe 60 times before your finished it, back in these days the composers really had to concentrate on making them listenable. That's before we get to the obvious limitations of the scene it depicts and the 8-bit sound system! It's harder than it looks and it's great that you recognise it.
love that list man! Moon Base happens to be my favorite 8 bit theme too,it's just as you described it.i also found Tetris B theme to be really catchy.the top 5 is pretty accurate, with mega man and ninja gaiden in it.that list made my day :) btw,i noticed you know a fair share about music.your analysis was rather detailed.
Yes, Duck Tales! I got worried that you wouldn't include it but you did. I agree, best NES 8-bit theme. So memorable and one of the reasons why I still remember the game.
It was recommended by my consultant. I will say that it works. If you want to hear them without interruption, you'll have to check it for yourself. That's the point. Some people like it, some don't, but I'm going to keep it this way.
Finally, a top video game tracks list that doesn't just show a stilled image while the music plays and then put some text explaining the choice at the end of the track!
OMG I love you for including that Mega Man track in your countdown! I own both Video Games Live albums and the Mega Man medley is one of my favorites, and that piece is my favorite part of that medley, but I didn't know what Mega Man level it came from! THANK YOU!
I really LOVE the Moon level theme from Ducktales! I mean... not only it makes me feel so happy I'm crying with joy, it also feels like you're having an epic journey into space! Space Core: SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCEEEE!!!!! ... Really nice job there, pal!
Okay, for all you guys complaining about how this song or that song isn't on this list, I've said it before and I'll say it again: IT'S HIS LIST! Plus there are so many 8-bit songs out there, what are the odds that his list and yours are the same?! If you don't agree with him, do him a favor and DON'T BE A JERK ABOUT IT! Okay, rant's over. I'ma go listen to the Moon Theme from DuckTales. ^^
7:26 It’s Russian in origin. Tetris was created in the Soviet Union and the Tetris A theme is just an 8-bit instrumental rendition of a Russian song about peddlers (street merchants) and the B theme is another Russian song
waaah the first one!! so nostalgic, i remember playing it on my first gameboy when i was like 6 years old!!!naaaah ohgod thank you so much for reminding me, i nearly forgot about that one
Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors Title Screen Theme and Megaman 3 tite screen are some underated tracks I can think of on top of my mind that deserved to be on this list
Lets see what you got: 10: Intense! 9: Sweetness at its finest! 8: Ah yes, this one is very memorable! 7: ALARM!!! But man its intense! 6: Prefer type A, but sounds cool. and no, i dont feel like dancin' 5: M.Bison: OF COURSE! 4: Ultraman 7! 3: Credits FTW! Speaking of credits, will you do a top 10 credits? 2: What a horrible night to bear a curse! 1: Space! Where ducks can breath! Great list, Scorpion you certainly a pro at this stuff!
I really enjoyed this countdown. This is the first game music countdown that actually explained the music well rather than just play a lot of the music. I also like how green scorpion went against the grain with the Tetris and Zelda themes. All this 8 bit music makes me want to finally learn how to play piano.
I guess this has probably been requested a lot already, but you should do a top ten 16-bit songs. You know what you're talking about, especially in the music field. You also need way more subscribers, man! xD
That's actually really good, but I still think that of the dozens of 8-bit pokemon songs, at least one of them could have made the list. Perhaps if it was a top 15 list :P Thanks for the link. Song was awesome. Personally, I was expecting a tune from Cave Story to appear somewhere. Oh well :P
I hit pause just to express that I hope Gradius is on here. If not, doesn't matter. Just thought I'd share that as one of my absolute FAVOURITE 8-bit songs of all time
At 9:55 What is that Red thing above Megaman? For some reason that was the FIRST thing to catch my eye (considering most of the background is the same grayish color)
Fair enough, I know it wasn't anywhere NEAR as popular in the US as it was around the rest of the world, so it doesn't get a lot of recognition. I grew up with a Master system, it was a great little machine.
If anyone is interested, check out the Team USSR theme in Super Dodgeball. Outside of Tetris B theme, Team USSR theme is undoubtedly the most Russian theme you'll hear in 8-bit.
As i watched the list, i agreed with the LoZ main theme for Oracle of Ages & Seasons, and also with the super mario theme. Upon reaching the countdown from 10 to 2, i wondered if you ever played Ducktales and actually added a song on the list. I laughed out of joy when the Moon Base appeared ^^
Great countdowns, but in my personal opinion, if I made a countdown like this the Mario and Link themes would be Number 1 and 2 for me. But, good job anyways man.
I recently found a song for the NES that, should you remake this list ever, you should consider giving it a spot. Shame that no one has heard of it, though. It is the main theme of a puzzle game called Solstice. RUclips won't let me leave a link.
Everyone please stop complaining that cretin songs didn't get on here there are so many great 8-Bit songs that we can't really make a list for all of them let's just enjoy our 8-bit bliss
"Anyone wanna dance with me?" I do I do I do^^ *dances to Tetris B Theme* Also liked that one a little more than the other two themes to be perfectly honest
I was glad to see some Mega Man music on here. List would not have been complete without Mega Man music imo. Dr. Wily stage was a great choice, but you probably could have picked any track from MM2.
07:25 you can also dance to the A theme in tetris, as it actually has a dance based around it. it is the music used when performing the classic eastern-european folk dance known as the korobushka. not sure where the B theme comes from.
13:26 "Look to the stars my darling baby boys,
Life is strange and vast. Filled with wonders and joys,

When I heard the music in the duck tales reboot I had to rewind the scene a few times to make sure I was actually hearing what I thought I was hearing. Needless to say I freaked out
It still hits me hard how the Zelda theme music was written in a day.
Yeah. 8-bit games and songs are some of the most fun (and some the hardest) games I've ever played.
That makes Koji Kondo badass!
The moon theme has good reason to make you cry since it was given a backstory in the new ducktaes series.
U were 9 yr late to the party
You just earned a subscriber!! :D

Me: 1 better be MM2
Me: Nvm this is better
MM2? What's that?
Zynk Mega Man 2
I was extremely shocked that Dr Wily didn’t even make the top 3
EXACTLY. i wanted mega man to get first place. but Duck Tales Moon theme.... i can't argue with it
love that list man!
I agree with her ☝️

That was a pretty decent list, most of the top ten lists out there suck really bad but this one was acutally really solid.
I love the video and your review is spot on 👍Also I had an NES growing up and didn't know some of these tracks. Thanks for the awesome review ✌️💯
Thanks for doing this. Brought back some great memories! Forget the haters. There is no way everyone could possibly agree on this list!
Finally, a top video game tracks list that doesn't just show a stilled image while the music plays and then put some text explaining the choice at the end of the track!
It's like you went out of your way to choose the second best song in some of these games.
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks man that was awesome
OMG I love you for including that Mega Man track in your countdown! I own both Video Games Live albums and the Mega Man medley is one of my favorites, and that piece is my favorite part of that medley, but I didn't know what Mega Man level it came from! THANK YOU!
I love how you timed when to start your comments on each track.
BTW The Ninja Gaiden act 4-2 song is called: Unbreakable Determination.
great list, i hope to see soon your Top Ten 16-Bit Songs
I LIKE TETRIS A THEME MORE THAN TETRIS B! (My opinion)
I totally agree.
I really LOVE the Moon level theme from Ducktales! I mean... not only it makes me feel so happy I'm crying with joy, it also feels like you're having an epic journey into space!
Space Core: SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCEEEE!!!!!

Okay, rant's over. I'ma go listen to the Moon Theme from DuckTales. ^^
Elise Arainai I actually hate the moon theme. Transylvania is better
I did my research on this one. The Game Boy sounds qualify for 8-Bit.
I just recently discovered you and you have no idea how happy I am that you like AVGN and JonTron
Your number 1 spot couldnt have been better! :)
I was honestly expecting you to do an 8-bit version of your own intro music there. Oh well. :)
Good list.
I'd love to see a Top Ten 16 bit Songs.
When you used Tetris B theme, I felt like burning something down because I had been waiting for Tetris A theme the entire video.
7:26 It’s Russian in origin. Tetris was created in the Soviet Union and the Tetris A theme is just an 8-bit instrumental rendition of a Russian song about peddlers (street merchants) and the B theme is another Russian song
Thought number 2 was number 1 and shocked no moon theme, then it came lol
I would've made you eat 32 bricks if you hadn't put The Moon as #1.
why 32? I would make him eat every single block of 1-4 in smb1 and make him drink all the lava in the level too
Hot damn, you are good at Tetris!
Denver Patterson Ye! He is soo MLG of tetris :D
waaah the first one!! so nostalgic, i remember playing it on my first gameboy when i was like 6 years old!!!naaaah ohgod thank you so much for reminding me, i nearly forgot about that one
Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors Title Screen Theme and Megaman 3 tite screen are some underated tracks I can think of on top of my mind that deserved to be on this list

10: Intense!
9: Sweetness at its finest!

7: ALARM!!! But man its intense!

Great list, Scorpion you certainly a pro at this stuff!
Excellent choces my friend!
I really enjoyed this countdown. This is the first game music countdown that actually explained the music well rather than just play a lot of the music. I also like how green scorpion went against the grain with the Tetris and Zelda themes. All this 8 bit music makes me want to finally learn how to play piano.
THE MOON AS #1!! NICE!!!! The best 8-bit song of all time.
I guess this has probably been requested a lot already, but you should do a top ten 16-bit songs.
You know what you're talking about, especially in the music field.
You also need way more subscribers, man! xD
The Moon theme is absolutely #1. Definitely my favorite 8-bit theme of all-time. :D
the top 4 are definitely agreed to be in the top 4 just a slightly different arrangement. great job
Just wait until you hear the moon theme with lyrics in the Ducktales reboot.
That Line was from a User of Screwattack when they did their top 20 videogame songs of all time
I agree with the tetris also used to play with that one the most but I'm sad when I see a top list with no double dragon theme
I have listened to Brentalfloss so much that I hear his lyrics in my head whenever I listen to any original song he has made lyrics for.
Now that's poetic. Dang it. I should have used that. :P
Damn... I had Duck Tales on my Nintendo as a child but I sold it away... Now you made me want to play it over again!
I can’t believe this video left out music from Faxanadu, Xexyz, Dragon Quest, and Pokemon
I thought the same thing, it's very surprising he only chose 2 platforms by the same company, considering so many machines back then were 8-Bit.
That's actually really good, but I still think that of the dozens of 8-bit pokemon songs, at least one of them could have made the list. Perhaps if it was a top 15 list :P
Thanks for the link. Song was awesome. Personally, I was expecting a tune from Cave Story to appear somewhere. Oh well :P
I hit pause just to express that I hope Gradius is on here. If not, doesn't matter. Just thought I'd share that as one of my absolute FAVOURITE 8-bit songs of all time
Honestly, the song used for the segue is the catchiest of them all. That should win.
When you sayed the next 4 took full use of the NES' sound, just knew Wily Stage was gonna be here
and like Proteaus007 said i love how you actually talk about it instead of using text
I actually didn't know that. Hm. I'll have to look that one up.
I was looking for number one thanks
Lavender town theme/ Red's battle theme.
If anyone is interested, check out the Team USSR theme in Super Dodgeball. Outside of Tetris B theme, Team USSR theme is undoubtedly the most Russian theme you'll hear in 8-bit.
You probably never heard Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers Zone J.
Whats that during the transition from entry to entry? The mario thing?
I'd dance with ya with these songs. But only obvious reasons hold me back. So I'll just dance solo.
hey, cool stuff.
As i watched the list, i agreed with the LoZ main theme for Oracle of Ages & Seasons, and also with the super mario theme. Upon reaching the countdown from 10 to 2, i wondered if you ever played Ducktales and actually added a song on the list. I laughed out of joy when the Moon Base appeared ^^
i knew it that moon theme would be some where it is flippin awesome
If it's not popcorn I will cry, I don't care that its not in a game it's amazing
We all knew the the super mario brothers song was going to be on here i hope i could make such iconic songs like that
I believe the stage 4-2 song is called Senretsu no Ryu
Green Scorpion ... you have chosen ... wisely
Nice list. (y)
Also, I suggest to check out Werewolf (NES) 2nd BGM.
90% agree with you, but where is Batman SunSoft?!
The Route 1 Theme from Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow is a good 8-bit song too
Everyone please stop complaining that cretin songs didn't get on here there are so many great 8-Bit songs that we can't really make a list for all of them let's just enjoy our 8-bit bliss
Oh Ducktales was so punishingly difficult, but the game was a gem back in the day.
his list now make your own
Just a suggestion, top ten plot twists in gaming. Also, thank you for not using text.
Wow, lots of people like ducks in space.
It's on your list!!! Where can I find it?
mario`s theme: *tillts head side to side in rthym*
megaman`s dr. willy castle theme: has the urge to dance
I'll dance with you! :D
so scorpion how do ya feel about the new moon remix in ducktales remastered
The Ninja Gaiden entry really gets me excited just for the memories of the game
At first I was wondering why some songs weren't on the list. Then I realized that they were 16-bit...
What happened to the Kid Icarus main theme? So adventurous and nostalgic as well.
Can't help but notice that lots of these songs have been given lyrics by BrentalFloss
This was fantastic c:
2 of these I haven't heard before, but I'm glad I did.
Would you consider making a top 10 16-bit music video?
Devil and Bass is probably my favourite 8-Bit song ever.
I love that Tetris B theme!
"Anyone wanna dance with me?"
I do I do I do^^ *dances to Tetris B Theme* Also liked that one a little more than the other two themes to be perfectly honest
I waited this entire video knowing the moon theme was going to be #1, that's my favorite as well.
Ah thank god Wily's Castle from MM 2 is on here or I would have killed somebody. ^^
The moon level theme almost sounds like Ballad of the Wind Fish and the Wiley's Castle theme got together and had a music baby.
his list make your own
what program where you using in the transitions
I love the duck tales moon theme too
