    We used to have little plastic strips with white out behind it that you could manually insert in front of the paper and just overtype the character. It was a little challenging because you'd have to find an unused part of the plastic strip, like the smaller one next to the match strip. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correction_paper

    So how does the roller get inked? Seems like it wouldn't store enough ink for one page. Is there a reservoir that feeds it?
    Also, how does inking actually work? Does it turn the next letter down to dab on the roller before it strikes, or is it just rolling ink on all the "petals" as they come around?

      No, been over 30 years since those rollers have been available
      If you have the roller, try re-inking with stamp pad ink or paymaster ink
