K Janíková have you tried the Pancaking technique? It makes braids bigger and thicker
Yes, but it tends to loosen my braids too much. Especially those in the back don't look very pretty after that.
K Janíková maybe you could do this technique and instead of keep braiding you should put them in ponytails->tease them and twist them around and then just pin them, it will look a bit different but it would still be so cute!
Rianne, I actually have done that before, and you're completely right, the buns look adorable. Kind of Leia-like, but more usable in modern day and age :D It's the small upside-down braids in the back that are just too tiny to my liking unfortunately, but that's DNA for you, I guess.
When she says Dutch braid tho! It sounds so cool!
The problem is with brunettes is you can't even see the braid

Well, this is old, but thank you for this. I saw a picture of Kelly Osborne from a few years ago with long pink and purple dutch braids but they appeared to be high up instead of going down the back of her head and I really want to try it, couldnt see the back of her head though to know how it was done but the braids look so tight its hard to imagine the back not being braided too. This is the only tutorial I've found that shows anything close to what I'm imagining so I can try to figure it out lol. Only if you left the braids tight and hanging.

you should have been more precise on why you had the 2 buns in the first place. smh and how as if you cut that portion in half then put buns there then you started to braid or?
ESTIsLaced she put her hair in the two buns at the start so it doesnt interfere with the dutch braid she was doing at the back and as u can see her hair was in 4 parts, the back portion is slightly larger than the front. Hope that helps
