      It seems to me that often people are prevented from saying the right stuff, and when they do they get punished for it. Meanwhile others get free reign to spew lies, slurs, insinuations and malicious smears that destroy careers and, in some cases, lives.     Honestly I really dont think it's fair to ask him this question, he missed nothing in language but maybe does not have full understanding of 1) what the BBC is meant to be, and 2) how it differs from what it actually is.
    Great answer anyway, but it's a really unfair question to ask someone who is not from the UK and , although has great English, is maybe lacking full fluency enough to (as he admits) understand the full situation.

      Why can't france help them? Almost identical countries, do you think we can help everyone in the world? do you have limits? I'd rather we focus on our own needy who are homeless living on the streets, veterans, young mums, people suffering from mental health problems etc. This past decade or so the attitudes have shifted in this country to toss our own, lets try and help everyone else. I've also seen zero appreciation for that help.

They thought they would get a rise out of him, how he found it insulting that Gary compared the Tories fascist immigration policy to 1930s Germany, but in fact he stuck up for Gary.

    I enjoyed tonight Match of the day. I could watch the program quickly. It finished very fast. I enjoyed the fans cheering. There was no so called pundits analysis who are paid I do not know what amount of money making this program last longer. Save energy. Not much electricity used for someone with my little earning.     Watched MOTD this morning and I´ve got to say I found it more enjoyable. It felt like I was in the stadiums. Made me realise how much those screeching commentators grate on me.
    As for the after-match analyses - too clever by half.

      There is employment law that states that you can be sacked for bringing your employer into disrepute even when not at work. Many people would say that comparing the Government to Nazi Germany brings the BBC into disrepute. There is also the matter that the BBC charter requires the BBC to be politically neutral. We also don’t know what is in Mr Linekers contract - he could be in breach tier all we know.
      All these reasons are enough for the BBC to suspend him. Personally I think what Mr Lineker tweeted is despicable but don’t think he should be suspended. However I do find it annoying that legally I am required to contribute to his extraordinary salary because the law forces me to have a TV licence even though I don’t watch any BBC programmes.

    Hello from Europe (Netherlands), just imo Gary would prefer shows to continue (for the fans) rather than cancelled.....BBC staff can on monday remove the direction physically (firmly but without violence) from the building and not let them in for the week. Gary doesn't need the fans to miss out on their favorite club reports surely. Good luck lads and stop smoggin' Rick would say.
