    Would highly suggest not using autofocus on your cameras. Manually pull the focus to a spot you know you can hit.

      Yes, I have it set better now. Of course, the video that's half out of focus is the only one to get over 10,000 views. Lol. Thanks for the tip and the watch!!

    This looks so natural. Thanks for the video! I'm glad I'm not alone in doing the "wipe off" method when I mess up. Sometimes I feel like I wipe more paint off than I put on.

      Thanks for watching! Totally not alone on that. I have a wipe off method for creating a texture/adjustment when my glazing gets too thick. I'll do a video on that sometime, too.

      Yes, yellow is really tricky. A red base coat under the yellow helps give you better coverage though. I'd love to see pics of how it goes.

    I personally use a lot of Reaper paints, and they have a triad explicitly for blonde hair - and none of them are "yellow", they're more like pale desaturated ochres. I was personally glad to see a bunch of Reaper paints on your desk, including that Sample you tried to hide the label of at the start. :D

      The first time I ever mixed a blonde color, I think I used Reaper Desert Sand as a base.

    • @mandysminis
      @mandysminis  Год назад

      Yes, I don't like the triads because I prefer more contrast than they offer. But I think they are great for beginners.

    My only additional comment would be that some of the paints you used were a little uncommon at best. Can you break down the colors on some kind of color chart or planning board so those of us who don’t have the exact same could find alternatives?
    Oh and your hands looked fine. I heard that you were concerned about that

    • @mandysminis

      Well, here's a bunch of them for your reference. But any yellowish browns, tans, khaki, or beige will work.
      Reaper Linnen White - Citadel Typhon Ash, Vallejo off-white, AK Interactive Ivory, Army Painter, Brainmatter Beige
      Scale75 Gobi Brown - citadel steel legion drab, Vallejo English Uniform, Reaper Rich Leather, AK Interactive, Olive Drab, Army Painter Cypress Brown
      AK Interactive Light Earth - Citadel Mrghast Bone, Vallejo Beige, Reaper Gnawed Bone, Army Painter Dune Sea

    Is this pretty close to doing gold NMM on the hair? At least as far as the colors go?

    • @mandysminis
      @mandysminis  10 месяцев назад +1

      Great question! It's similar, but not as extreme. Nmm requires major contrast changes, and here we're not going as dark or to the absolute brightest possible. Also, the placement of where the contrast is keeps it from looking metallic, but they are similar colors for my gold nmm. I have a video on that coming soon (January or february), so look out for that. But if you want my gold nmm secrets early, let me know, and I'll get you some brief tips and colors.

    Hey guys. As usually a solid and “makes sense”. Idea
    I have always wanted to paint darker skin tones, such as African.
    😊do you have a 3d printer yet?
    It would be interesting to see what you would do

    • @mandysminis
      @mandysminis  Год назад

      Thanks! I actually have a video planned on just that topic (darker skin tones). It's easier than we make it. Yes, we actually have 2 3d printers. We'll schedule a video to share our very limited knowledge on that. I mean, it works for us, but we're a far cry from experts on that topic. Lol.
