    I like how it shows the war from both perspectives. Some songs seem to admire the wehrmacht and some praise Allied armies. There are even some talking about civilian victims of the war !
    Really love that it's not biased in any way.

      +CzarnyMlot they also have some about other wars like the falklands war and this one is actually about the blue berets(UN peace keepers)

      +CzarnyMlot Joakim Bròden once answered on the question "You sing about war, so do you like war or are you even Nazis?", "We don't take anyone's side, no matter about which war we sing. We just tell stories to remember history."
      (I don't remember the exact wording anymore, but it was similar to this)

    • @CzarnyMlot
      @CzarnyMlot 8 лет назад +3

      irgend eine I like how they said it. It's true they sing about all factions involved in the war and they show all sides of it, they sing about heroes but also about the tragedy that the war was.

      *****
      More realistic ? More objective ? In the pacific you don't have good americans soldiers against bad soldiers, but just soldiers against soldier. You see more the darkest war than in BoB.
      It's my opinion, if you aren't agree with me I understand ;)

    Best song of Sabaton! Sad but true. Clip is also very topic. Americans in Normandy made a lot of good deeds. All those who fought on the side of the Allies - a very worthy people.
    And why are we with the US forever hate each other? Imagine how great it would be an alliance between America and Russia!

    • @EDT308
      @EDT308 9 лет назад +7

      Петр Поярков Aye, I agree with you, our peoples could be great and productive if only there were no politicians and no media in the way.

    • @scalliar3332
      @scalliar3332 9 лет назад +7

      EDT308 Absolutely right. However, I am sure ordinary Americans and Russian does not make sense to hate each other, if they are smart enough not to believe the media.

    • @classifiedad1
      @classifiedad1 9 лет назад

      Петр Поярков Agreed. When America was engaged in the American Civil War, the Tsar stood up for the Union.

    • @agentorange153
      @agentorange153 9 лет назад +6

      Петр Поярков As an American, I say this would be great indeed! Of course, with all the hate being stirred up by neo-Bolsheviks like Putin, this will be hard to do, but when more Russians start thinking and acting like you do, then peace between Russia and the USA will be within reach!

    • @SaraduminRS
      @SaraduminRS 9 лет назад +2

      Петр Поярков "Americans in Normandy made a lot of good deeds. All those who fought on the side of the Allies " Were we(finns) evil because we fought with nazis... maybe we would have fought alongside allied forces, but they didn't help us. Many hate nazis and say they are the most evil of all, but I think that Stalin was the most evil, Mao zedong the second and Heinrich Himmler as the third. nazis helped us keep our indepence against overwhelming soviet forces.

    I wonder if this video will have good replicas and accuracy.

    During watching:
    1:52 The jews aren't skinny enough, but I'm not judging the cast for that seeing how if they did have people that skinny they'd probably die on set so its good they didn't do that! All of them are bald.
    __________________________________________________________________
    After watching:
    Very good reenacting of the camp! Everything looked historically accurate and they made it feel real! Big props for "Band of Brothers". Sabaton was good as always! :D

    Their last album is totally uniqe. It is about the 30 years war and the great Nordic war. No metall band made such a album in respect of historic accuracy and research. Also to choose something that far from mainstream (WW II and Vietnam) is very very brave.

    Wow! A long song title with a one letter difference. I give up. You've convinced me. I mean, how could I not have known that "Light in the Black" and "A Light in the Black" are as different as night and day? After all, it is far easier to believe that than it is to believe that maybe, just maybe, Sabaton took the title and just dropped the "a".

    The first discovered German death camps for adults may have been a shock to American soldiers. But even greater shock was experienced by Soviet soldiers when they found a children's death camp. Several thousand children from 2 to 16 years old. Practically dying of hunger and inhuman work. Kinder-KZ Litzmannstadt was a Nazi German concentration camp for Polish Christian children in occupied Łódź during World War II. About 3,000 (between 12,000 and 13,000 according to International Tracing Service) children were forced into passing through the camp. The 1,600 child laborers performed work. The exact number of camp victims is unknown. The causes of death were starvation rations, over-work, terrible sanitary conditions and brutal treatment of young prisoners.

    Sabaton is french word that relates to a piece of a Knights armour in particular the legs. Now I don't blame you for not understanding the word, but Rainbow is a more girly name, than Sabaton would ever be. Sabaton is power metal none of the other subgenres you mentioned.

    I really hate it when people say all Germans were Nazis. Only some army generals were officially part of the Nazi party. Most foot soldiers just fought for their family and friends back in Germany.

    • @Linkman247
      @Linkman247 9 лет назад +8

      +Son of Balder Know I am replying to a year old comment but that sentiment is typically from someone who has no knowledge of history. Not all Germans were Nazis. But not all Nazi's were Nazi's either. Just because they were a member of the Nazy party didn't mean that they were sympathetic to the party. For example. Many Luftwaffe pilots did not identify with the party. They believed they were fighting to defend Germany and not for Hitler. Franz Stigler for instance was a German Ace who could have shot down a crippled B-17 and earned a Iron Cross. But instead he escorted it to open waters. Had he been found out he would have been shot. He also said how he didn't paint the swastika on his plane until mandated by an increasingly paranoid Hitler. According to Stigler the Luftwaffe also made an effort to reach downed allied pilots before the SS could get to them. Then you had Hitler's own staff who were trying to kill him in what became known as Operation Valkyrie.

    Yeah, I agree, the songs sound nothing alike. Rainbow was heavy metal and Sabaton is power metal. My only beef was not the name of the song, but the fact that a lot of Sabaton fans keep saying that the name of the song was created by Sabaton, and it was not.

    In 1950 in Germany there's something like 68 millions people. (I didn't find any number about 1945)
    And in 1945 there were 8,5 millions people who had joined the nazi party
    So you're not wrong but there was still a lot of nazis...

    I think pointing out the Lusitania as provocation is inaccurate. If it had been a passenger ship sunk in international waters, my approach would have been different. But it was both steaming into an English port in British waters as well as shipping munitions and weapons to the English.
    I think selling weapons to one side in times of war makes these shipments fair game and any protestations of neutrality void.

    Say what??? I said nothing about copy protecting a song title. I merely pointed out that Sabaton didn't come up with their own title for a song, yet their fans come off claiming that 'A Light in the Black' is some unique and well thought out song title that Sabaton came up with. They came up with nothing. This is the title of a 36 year old heavy metal song that came about before any of the Sabaton band members were even a thought.

    If Sabaton actually said that Rainbow was an influence on them, then wouldn't it stand to reason that they also borrowed a Rainbow song title for their song title? It is not even not creating their own title that is the big deal. It's the many Sabaton fans that credit Sabaton for the song title, most of whom have never even heard of Rainbow, because if they did, they would not be giving credit to song title creation to Sabaton. That was my main point. Sorry if I wasn't very clear on that.

    The US didn't only fight through France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany, but we also fought our way up through Africa, Italy, the Mediterranean, Not to mention our Pacific campaign, which the USSR barely took part in. Also, if not for the US bailing the Russians out with the Lend-Lease act (see below) the war may have ended quite differently. I am not saying that Russia deserves no credt, she deserves alot, just don't make it sound like it was Russia against the world.

This was quite a bit before the gays decided to make rainbow a gay thing. Just like the color purple didn't used to be gay either, until the gays made it a gay color. You have to remember most stuff didn't used to be gay until the gays started claiming everything.

    That's exactly what I keep trying to explain to a lot of Sabaton fans. So then why do a lot of them keep trying to tell me that the song title was originated by Sabaton, when clearly, it wasn't.

    I'm fairly sure this song is about the Blue Berets, in other words the UN peacekeeping forces. So can someone enlighten me on why every other comment is about the allies in WW2 and the Germans in WW2?

    Now think about what the Russians must have felt when they discovered the children's concentration camp. Yes . For children between 16 and 2 years old. Preventive (isolation) camp for young Poles of the Security Police in Łódź (German: Polen-Jugendverwahrlager der Sicherheitspolizei in Litzmannstadt) - a camp created in the area separated from the Łódź ghetto (bordering on the east with the Jewish cemetery at Bracka Street), intended for children and youth Polish from 6 to 16 years old. The ordinance of the Reich Main Security Office said that "criminals or neglected children from 8 to 16 years old should be sent to the camp". Initially intended for children and adolescents from 8 to 16 years old, however, this limit was quickly reduced to 6 years of age, unambiguously unambiguous information indicates that the younger were also temporarily detained here - from 2 years old. The most commonly reported reason for being sent to the camp was "wandering". On this basis, the German occupation authorities could put any Polish child they met on the road in the camp. Other reasons were given in the justification for referrals to the camp:
    illegally purchased food cards,
    father on works in the Reich, mother in the concentration camp in Oświęcim, children are neglected,
    steals fruit in the gardens with other children, especially German citizens; the mother does not care about him, the father is dead,
    a child found at the age of 3 who was in an orphanage in Katowice is a cripple. Difficult to raise, shakes his head, wet the bed, is prone to theft. The exact number of camp victims is unknown. The causes of death were starvation rations, over-work, terrible sanitation and brutal treatment of young prisoners. At least 12-13 thousand people passed through the camp. prisoners, of whom approximately ⅓, i.e. 4,000, died on the spot.

    Hebrew faith doesn't normally do conversions, you can only be jewish from maternal line otherwise you're consindered what is called "a friend of the people," if only your father was jewish.

    @TheED1N I disagree. While Russia had a HUGE part to play in winning WWII, so did the other allies. Imagine if the US had never entered the war, nor helped to send supplies and weapons to Britain. Great Britain would have fallen, and Germany could then concentrate on it's now (for the most part) single enemy, Russia. It was the division of Hitler's forces that eventually did him in. Every Allied country had a part to play.

    why do they always only make series and films about the american side? I know there are some russian films but never have i seen a movie, or series about Africa, the british or canadians or even the french for that matter(ground troops i mean)

      Well americans do their thing and other countries do their own thing. For example here in Finland we do our own movies about Winter war and Continuous war. I don't think that americans are going to do movies about other countries. I may be wrong here

      Lars-Gunnar Grönvald the only reason america, russia, england and canada didn't get bombed with nukes was because the russians pushed the germans back just in time. The germans ran out of recources to designed, and build the Ho-18 nuclear bomber, not only that, without the german horten brothers, the B-2 would probably never have existed

      literally none of that is true. by the time the allies were developing the a-bomb, the germans were still throwing uranium in a pile to see what would happwn. they threw away any work from jewish scientists (i.e, einstein). also, the ho229 was just a flying wing. it had pretty much no anti-radar capabilities and was just another expsnsive waste of money in the nazi arsenal.

    I have to disagree. Britain would not have fallen, because Germany simply did not have the naval force available for Operation Sealion. (Historians and AH.com geeks have gone over that particular plan with a fine-toothed comb; the general agreement is that it was utter lunacy.) Similarly, Germany failed in Operation Barbarossa because they weren't prepared for the Russian winter, not because of military superiority (which Germany had anyway at that point).

    Thats is wrong, UUSR wasn't the only one, USA, GB and Canadian forces arrived at France Normandie Juni 6:th 1944 for the operation Overlord, meanwhile the USSR forces where moving towards the Third Reich creating a two front war, Hitler himself was a knowledge man and a master in one front Warfare, with two fronts he got confused and moved most of his troops around, while also Operation Beach Ohama was a slaughter, don't forget that, so there wasn't only one winner, it was several.

    You should check about the Lend-Lease act. USA sent lots of planes, trucks, weapons, supplies, ... I guess your soldiers would have moved less fast in the snow without the 13 millions of american boots.

    If you knew about a genocide going on, what would you do? March up to the local commandant and demand he stops? Walk into a newspaper and get your declaration printed? There is nothing one can do short of suicide.
    And as for "coming into France, Poland;" the same argument applies to every single nation fighting an aggressive war in the world. America did the same in Iraq. It isn't about killing, it's about resources. You have oil and coal that I need, but I have guns. Simple if heartless logic.

    I strongly believe that Russia would have won the war by itself, HOWEVER, that is only with outstanding amounts of troops it had. Granted, it would have taken Russia several YEARS longer to win by itself.

    True, genocide is still an awful crime no matter what method is used. There is no excuse for trying to murder an entire group of people.
