I took my Sansui 661 receiver to be refurbished a few months ago.. now I turned my attention to my Pioneer pl12D turntable, and came across these videos of yours. I don’t know how you knew I desperately needed help, but I really need to thank you! I will definitely check out your other videos.
Did I miss something or you did not pull the motor for inspection/service? Also, isn't the motor pulley convex in shape? You can do some adjustment of the speed. Linn tables are adjustable this way but of course there setup you can pivot the motor plus flip the outer platter to better see what you're doing. Softer furniture grade foam works better than the stiffer denser ME.
Hi mate. I also have the pioneer 12d. Im having some issues with the needle dropping too quick onto the vinyl and im worried that long term itll damage them. Think you could help out? Ive only just bought it and its in mint condition
Thank you so much for showing how to damp the player! Mine had nothing at left. Now it’s fine again 😃
Glad the video helped and thanks for watching!

I don't always pull the motor for a lube service. It depends on what the table is doing. I also don't always record every step.

This video should cover damping.
Will 3-in-one oil work in the spindle?
It will work, but I don’t know that it’s ideal.
There's a built-in overhand gage built into the top plate of that turntable as I recall.
Dang autocorrect, meant overhang
You are correct 😀
Hi, what is the name of the phone app you used to test the speed? Thx!
It’s called RPM
