"O Holy Night" is David's favorite Christmas songs and is one of his signature songs. Charlotte Ritchie sang backup with him for many years, and her and David's families have been friends for many years. David had been wanting to sing an actual duet with Charlotte for many years, so he wrote this song inspired by "O Holy Night" with Charlotte in mind for the "It Must Be Christmas" project. Charlotte and her husband Greg, the drummer in this video, also played with the Gaithers for years.
Charlotte Ritchie is a part of the Gaither shows. She sang a long time with The Easter's. She is also married to the drummer in the Gaither Homecoming shows.
Heard David sing this song at his barn Sunday. He was singing it with his two daughters. His daughter Maggie Beth killed it. Of course David did too but we all know that..
David wrote this song… Charlotte Ritchie is a great singer who sings with the Gaither Homecoming group… This is great & beautiful song… I was there when they did this…♥️
This has become one of my favorite David Christmas songs! Charlotte has sung with him for many years and projects. And yes most all of Gaither vocal folks sing with gum…. David does also, usually. Check out Charlottes Revelation where David sings back up!
I love this song. I have been writing out the instrumentation for a couple in my church that want to sing it. (I'm positive it won't come close to this!) I might add to the last post, Charlotte actually cried when David called her and asked her to sing this with him. She was so honored. On another note, I ALWAYS sing with gum in my mouth. I have mastered hiding it and chewing gum that actually blends in with my mouth, but Charlotte always chews green gum. 🤣😂😁
Stunning, but would not expect less from David or Charlotte. Your reaction was also great. Looking forward to more of David's Christmas songs from you😊
I absolutely enjoy David Phelps! We’ve seen him with and without the Gaithers. Checking out your channel and wondering where your Elvis playlist is. He’s fantastic singing gospel!!
Thank you. I knew you would love it since "Fall on Your Knees" is your favorite part of Oh Holy Night. Did you get the 2nd one also? The new updated arrangement of Oh Holy Night. God Bless You and yours.
David sings with gum in his mouth. A lot of singers do it. He says it's to help keep your mouth moist. I don't think I've ever actually seen him chew it on stage, and I've seen him in many concert many, many times. So, he's a magician, lol.
Thank you for the wholesome and wonderful videos! My teens, husband and I really love your channel and wish you and your family a peaceful holiday season!
Fun note: David also typically sings with gum in his mouth. I believe it helps saliva to stay active, at least that's what I think as I use it the same (and to keep fresh breath, lol). Meanwhile, every voice instructor I've ever met says not to chew gum while singing... considered unprofessional, I suppose. I'll stick with how David does it. HA
Beautiful rendition. Though you could never do a reaction to it, you still should see the "O Holy Night/Ave Maria" by The Piano Guys featuring Lexie Walker.
If you want a couple good Charlotte Ritchie songs.... "Build A Bridge" "Go Rest High On The Mountain" and "Revelation Song" She's got a couple of others with David also.
Gives me chills every time I hear this.

The gum keeps your mouth from drying up. It takes David to arrange a song and tomake a song come to life.❤😊

One Word , FABULOUS !!!?❤😊
I am glad you recognize what a wonderful gift this is. If you are not a fool you will be on your knees when he comes back. This was fantastic!
A true worship experience!! 'Reactions by D' said 'this is what you must hear when you are greeted at the pearly gates of heaven!". 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Fall on your knees has always been my favorite part of Oh Holy Night❤🎉
Yes, this was live, and I was in the audience. Magnificent concert, meant to evoke a small, intimate jazz club.
I've noticed that Charlotte sings as backup for many Gaither performances. I think she is a studio musician. That's why she is so good.
David said he wanted to make O holy night a worship song so he did this
I have never heard this before! It has an almost Gaelic sound to it! Thank you for the reaction to this beautiful & unusual recording! ❤
Watching your reactions is introducing me to music and performers that are new to me. I loved this rendition. ❤️ Beautiful!
Great reaction. Their voices are similar and sound Amazing together ❤🎉
Absolutely Beautiful . ❤

A Beautiful song and Beautifully sung ❤❤
Another song of David's ,co-wrtten by him, you've got to do. "Virtuoso" from his Legacy of Love album. As always, it won't disappoint!!!

Words can't describe the beauty and love being poured out to God.

I believe this song was nominated for a Dove Award. Didn't win but was a winner with David's fans.
Too bad he didn't win. This song and its arrangements are so original. What in the world are Dove Awards organizers looking for?

Great job! Great voice! You would make a great DJ.
React to Little Drummer Boy by David from this same concert!

DENNIS, A GGOD ONE FROM GABRIEL HENRIQUE, DET FIRE TO THE RAIN
Hi. Stell just recently had a collab with Jamie Miller who sang HERE'S YOUR HEART. Check it out! 😉♥️🇵🇭
