This video just popped up in my youtube recommended video's. I'm actually expecting my brand new VW Polo 1.0 TSI, Highline in the color orange to arrive at my door within the next hour! I never really liked the interior of the old polo. I had a VW Golf V and it's build quality just felt so much better despite the age. I think the new one is a huge improvement.
The thing is, I can get a brand new old Polo GTI, equipped with literally anything that the old Polo offers (including LED lights, panorama roof, full park assistant, etc.) for around 17.000€. A new Polo GTI fully doesn't start under 23.000€ and is basically empty. Fully equipped it goes up to 30.000€....thats insane.
Not even trendline... it doesn't even have painted door handles and mirrors. So its the cheapest version they got (easyline?) Also they say at 1:15 that they new come with full led headlights which is an option for the 6c (2015-2017) model.
I saw one driving past me on Friday, had no plates, 60 zone driving slowly, and without a trained eye, you would not know that it was the new one. Yes the car is a lot different but not really noticeable. Jeremy Clarkson once did a test when a new focus was going to be launched in a months time, and parked it on a busy road and no one stopped to look at it. Think the same can be done with this car, it is going to be one of the most important cars in South Africa and I'm sure not many people will notice that it is a new one parked next to a busy road. Even when they changed almost everything. Would be cool if cars would actually do that test.
@@sidthesloth107 if a new gen hilux or ranger would have been parked next to a busy road a month before release, most current hilux or ranger driver will stop to have a look.
I really like the new model.. and honestly, in Germany at least, there are quite a few around and they do look quite good. Just yesterday I saw a black one, probably a highline with the LEDs and nice 17“ or 18“ wheels, that thing is rather sexy :D for a compact car at least
I bought VW Polo in 2012 brand new day today drive like new no problem at all, I do service regularly and that's it.Love this car, new one looks much better but I whant to buy Tiguan or Passat something a bit bigger for family.
Comparing a +300k Highline, with extras, and a barebones trendline isn't fair at all. If this was a comparison of the outgoing Highline, plus extras, with a new trendline, would the results not differ as they do now?
Oil Chamber Breakage Dear Sir, I Have bought my Volkswagen Polo on August last week, 2016. Before 10 days i had hit a speed breaker and next day i noticed my oil tank was leaking and was surprised to see that there were no notification as when i checked the oil it was over and the car engine would have seized. Thankfully insurance covered most of the expense except the engine oil. But some of my friends whom i know also own polo has the same Oil chamber breakage problem as in once case engine got seized and has to pay over 4,00,000 for the same. i have even done some research on internet and i have seen that most people face the same oil chamber problem with polo which i have faced. Now i think i have made the biggest mistake by buying a German car which has very low ground clearance which hits the speed breaker even when driven slow. I think the components used in India is of very low quality as i am surprised to see a company like Volkswagen having issues like these. I really want to know the Volkswagen India's take on this as i feel cheated already as it is a premium hatchback. Thanks, Rakesh
1:14 Full led headlights is an option for the 6c (2015-2017) polo. This is also a comparison of the cheapest 6c (doesn't even have painted mirrors or door handles) to the new highline model (3:20)
Just too pricey. It needs more for that price. There's plenty competition to choose from that's a less risky purchase than a Polo. High insurance and high risk. It's silly.
Hello, Cars dot coza, can you also compare this new Polo with Golf IV? This is because I have a feeling that they might measure the same in length though the interior will be roomier in the Polo. Since the old Polo is gonna have the Vivo badge, with no doubt I sense that in a decade to come the Polo will catch-up to the size of Golf VII.
I just wish VW India will introduce the 6th gen Polo into the Indian market. But given the fact that super mini segment here in India is largely dominated by Swift, Tiago and i20, I don't think VW will bring in the 6th gen Polo anywhere in the near future.
How about comparing the old polo highline with the new polo vivo i think that's comparable but not this. so guys when considering the new polo from the old one ,please compare the highlines with the highlines and the trendlines with the trendlines, make a wise choice
I think it's unfair that the new Polo Highline is being compared to the old Polo Trendline. Would've been better if it were Highline v Highline or Trend v Trend
That is definitely the Trendline and NOT Comfortline. Comparing the bottom of the range old model with the top of the rang new model (Without taking the GTI into account)
Just for the heads up, careful on buying LED headlights as it can cause other road users to be dazzled and they're trying to ban cars with those headlights as it's too bright.
The top of the range highline polo 6C was around 285k for the DSG, this new one is around 300k for the top of the range highline model so no it's not...
i was talking about the cars in the video.. the 6C looks better in highline spec than the one used here .....they should have had same spec levels for comparision, the new polo in the video is much more than 300k, it is fully specd ...ps:cant wait for the polo gti old vs new faceoff (track shootout)
Yeah they should have used to the highline 6C doesn't make sense why they would use the trendline. I own a Polo 6C GTI and from stand still it keeps up with the current Golf GTI till about 160km/h (stock for stock race can go either way) so i think the new polo GTI should be even faster the golf GTI seeing as it now has the same 6 speed DSG box with 320nm of torque as well as the weight advantage all be it not as much of the weight advantage it had before with the 6C GTI.
To be honest, the new polo have too much electronics inside. I did see many complain about that polo. I really love my Polo 6R 2018. Its not fancy inside with a lot of electronics inside. It's just the way I wanted. Up to the Polo 6R is still the best.
Most scientific boot measurement in the history of car reviews
Matome Ramphele literally the words I was typing
Mate literally crying at that bit
😲😲😲
i thought he was building up to a joke but guess not
I was about to comment that lmao
Ciro your boot space measuring technique is very South African lol, I approve
The boot measurement 😂😂😂 ,best presenter ever !
your way of measuring the boot reminds me of Mr Bean 😂
Romeo Matthew 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😭😭😭

How is the drive?

The old arms length measurement technique, spot on.
It's not fair to compare the trend line polo with the high line polo
And I have to say the old polo was blue not silver
First thing I observed
Not even trendline... it doesn't even have painted door handles and mirrors. So its the cheapest version they got (easyline?)
Also they say at 1:15 that they new come with full led headlights which is an option for the 6c (2015-2017) model.
Trendline is the cheapest version they have and does not have body colored handles or mirrors.
My 6r is a trendline with painted mirrors and handles. It also has front fog lights and a few other things the polo in the video doesn't have.
I love the quality of this video 👍
sir, i liked the way you compared boot space with hands. :)
I love these side by side comparisons no one else does this on RUclips
I like the measurements, very nice
Another great review C. When you did the measurement - your technique is the same as mine. (From Australia).
cant wait for my polo coming next week

No one stops to look at a car if it ain’t a Ferrari or a lambo lol who is gonna stop for a Ford or a vw

This has been helpful, I'm in the process of buying and I'm definitely considering the new Polo.

I prefer the front of the old polo it looks more menacing
That was a great sales pitch on behalf of VWSA
Awesome review. And giving the prices helps when it comes to shopping around
That hand measurement made me laugh
薛超 was looking for this comment 😀

I have a 2006 polo same problem.
I am not sure if you know but for measuring spaces people have invented measuring line.
I love the R-line option
Im trading in my 2012 polo gti for this new polo. Is it a good move?
Awesome.. When it's releasing in India?? Any idea. Waiting..
I actually prefer the shape of the previous design haha
That hand measurement... Ultimate thing that happend today in our Earth 🙏🙏
The new Polo looks good. I like the clean „Bauhaus“ Design 🤔👌🏻

Really liked the video. I love south Africa.
5:00 Mr. Bean method of measurement. 😂
it's 2018 now, lots of hi-tec features suppose to come as standard.
the way to measure trunks is the best 👍😄
Nice video and nice car. You need a pop filter for your microphone on the voice-overs though. The "P"-sounds have some popping.
5:15 your measurement make me a happy 😊 smile 😊 thanku
Mr. Bean's method for boot measurement 🙃
we can simply add a scratchless lamination on the infotainment which can simply prevent the finger prints
Polo 6C had full LED option as well.
Please do the same kind of review when the new fiesta comes
Edwin Simpson Agreed, a head-to-head would be informative.
How does this Polo has so white bright headlights and mine is the same but got a yellow beam
Funny how you compare the ENTRY level TRENDLINE with the RANGE TOPPER(excluding the GTI) HIGHLINE model.
Just too pricey. It needs more for that price. There's plenty competition to choose from that's a less risky purchase than a Polo. High insurance and high risk. It's silly.
Are the two suit cases going into the trunk? 24,26 size
New Polo looks awesome but I still won't cough up that much money for a small engine.

What is the driveability compared to a golf?
So the same but with BMW 1 series tail lights?
Paul Roux the 6r polo came out way before the second gen 1 series, so no VW did it first
@cars.co.zaa when is this new one goina be launched in India? Please.
When you releasing in india ? Bangalore
I just love VW
instead of using meter and feet, everyone should start measuring things the way ciro does. its way easier to understand 😎
How about comparing the old polo highline with the new polo vivo i think that's comparable but not this. so guys when considering the new polo from the old one ,please compare the highlines with the highlines and the trendlines with the trendlines, make a wise choice
2018 VW Polo vs Polo Vivo. That's what the title should say.
Who else thinks the old one looks better?
The old one looks much better and it is an epic VW Polo. The new one is being recalled.
I like the old one , it like much nicer .
I do.
Only people in denial.
Nah, just like the video says :: "The new polo makes the old one look 10 years older"
I think it's unfair that the new Polo Highline is being compared to the old Polo Trendline. Would've been better if it were Highline v Highline or Trend v Trend
How can you compare a Polo Trendline to a Polo Highline though?
That is definitely the Trendline and NOT Comfortline.

The rear light’s too busy though for a small car. Btw, a dead cat on your mic would improve your audio track by a long mile.
What for it to depreciate and the facelift then go buy.
They hold their value quite well, Just like the Tazz.
Mr Smith is right they never drop price, vow holds their value better than any other brand
BMW yes, VW I do not think so.
Vernon Williams yes, wait till the facelift in 2023. Or even better, wait till the new polo in 2027.
1Mobban 😂 😂
I like the outgoing one. And 2 doors is a must in a hatch.
Can I expected same changes in vento in future
Just for the heads up, careful on buying LED headlights as it can cause other road users to be dazzled and they're trying to ban cars with those headlights as it's too bright.
Please also post the time links from the description in the comments section for mobile users
Hey do they not have tape measures yet in SA? No need to measure boot volume with hands. Or is this a spoof review 🧐???
I’m not convinced the new design looks better
What about the price difference between the two models shown.. err ya.. it's huge

Definitely correct time for last definitely

The South African version of Jeremy Clarkson, brilliant mate!
trendline vs highline? Not fair. Plus the old 1 has the Composition media system as an extra which is nearly as big as the new one's screen.
those buttons on the new polo are called capacitive buttons
It looks the best quality in its class but I think Honda city the the best in this class
Background music name please..
But equally why is it that even the most fundamental programs we have to pay extra for. Like the parking whatnot and the blind spot ntonton.
Hate how it says the newer car is longer and wider, but what they show is it being shorter
Trendline and highline
Hi Dude what about volkswagen t cross
Can you make a video comparing the old polo with the new polo vivo
Why did he compare the old trend line Polo with the new carat ?
I like the old one best
I love Volkswagen's conservative styling
service plan is utter rubbish
nice Video, But the Way u measured the BOOT,?U can DO better, GOOD job, ENJOYED
This is madness, why didn't y'all use the same trim model for both cars? It's like comparing a 2016 Polo GTI and a 2019 Polo Trendline.
Old Polo Highline vs New Polo Highline please
"This Guy Have a separate Fan Base"
Fantastic camparo side by side..
11thousand grand seems like a lot for an option on a polo, I think you meant 11 grand
what is the currency?
South African rand
04:41 that was very scientific.
too sad you can't get anything than 1.0 exept for the gti variant
How can you even compare a trendline with a highline what sense is that honestly
Way better than the previous Polo. Basically a cheaper Golf.
boot measurement ahhahahahahahaha very scientific and accurate
Doesn't seem rather fair comparing a 6C Trendline with a 2G Highline!
This is not the Indian version, why am i here . . . .
