I agree that Yuki has something special. She gives off a bit of G-Idle Soyeon's vibe. It looks pretty clear that RBW likes to feature her. She's got that nice combo of swagger, skills, and attractiveness that gives one star quality.
less attitude and showmanship as soyeon, but she's still a rookie and will get better in future hopefully

A little concerned though that unlike so many 4th gen girl groups Purple Kiss doesn't seem to be having the same levels of interest and sales as so many of their peers and that their album sales are trending down the last two comebacks and their most recent sold slightly less than their debut. I don't know what the magic formula is to get them more attention. Talented members, pretty good songs, MV's are good quality, promotions on the music shows are a good length. If there is a weakness maybe it is a lack of mainstream media coverage or a lack of a variety queen or CF queen in the group, or at least one who has caught on with the general public. Maybe expectations were too high with them being Mamamoo's "little sisters" and they aren't Mamamoo. They are more like a normal girl group rather than a break the mold act like Mamamoo. Their next album will be pretty critical. They need to reverse that negative sales trend and the company needs to figure out what isn't working right with their marketing or music.

Dosie combines elegance and power in equal amounts. There are other kpop idols that have that (Yves comes to mind), but maybe not with the same look that she has which is fairylike? elfin? but not in an ethereal way. She's very grounded and present. I agree, I think it's a unique combination.
With Yuki, there's this confidence, this ownership of her look and her rapping, but it's not in the overt way you often get with rappers. It's kind of like Dami (but with less of the fuzzy panda-ness), in that it's like this introverted comfort with who she is and knowledge that she's the real shit that's centered in her and radiates out rather then being something that's trying to busily draw attention to itself. It's very cool. Not laid back but chill.
With Chaein, I think it's that she gives off little, precocious sister vibes on the surface, but then there's this mischevious artist beneath that's relentless. It's like: I'm going to try this and if that doesn't work or if I want to destroy you more then I'm going to try this, and I'm going to get you one way or another. It's like every time she has a part, she's going to try to destroy.
Really felt like Swan was telling us that we weren't listening closely enough so she had to make sure we were listening.

I'm normally not all for hardcore girl-crush, but when Purple Kiss does it, they make it their own. They remember "hey, we have vocalists, It's girl crush, but how about we let Go Eun blast us with power and Swan lure us in with her indie dreamy voice". They also went "sooo why don't we give Chaein and Yuki more multi-rap verses". They just don't do a genre like it's a formula, they do things their way.
Sidenote: Pretty Psycho IS one of Purple Kiss' best songs, regardless of it being a B-track. Maybe they should have saved it for a title track? I know they used some of it as an intro teaser before, but this song slaps. I hope they showcase it in some way during memeM promotions.

To shed a bit of light, the lyrics 모리 속에 멤 멤 멤 "mori soge maem maem maem" is almost certainly a reference to the idiom 머리 속에 맴돌다 "mori soge maemdolda", literally "to circle around inside the head" but basically "linger in one's mind". 맴 "maem" is a mimetic word suggesting circling around, while 돌다 "dolda" is a verb with a zillion meanings, the relevant one here again being "to go round, to rotate, to spin".
Unrelatedly... have you seen Billlie's Ginga Minga School Life (빌리의 긴가민가 학교생활)? I know you loved Billlie on Silence of Idol (or anywhere, really :D ), and I thought you might like to know they are doing another variety show :) It goes as well as you might imagine :D

I know what you mean about those three having that little bit extra, I think when it inevitably comes time for solo activities they’re the ones who will make the transition the easiest (Chaein esp I think will end up a k-rnb star like baekyun). I mean, they’re all deserving stars and I hope they all do incredibly, just that it might be easier for those three.

Ji Eun, for me, shines the most when they have lighter concepts. Like Zombie she was living for it. I don't think she gets lost here, but I do think she enjoys being fun and cute over badass, you know?

god. i really do think this cb solidified it for me that swan is imo the best female vocal in the 4th gen and that yuki is not only the best female rapper of the 4th, but also OVERALL for kpop. which is INSANE since it's a second language for her.

Look, I know kpop fans get super irritated when you compare the sound of one group to another, but I don't care, I'm not trying to throw shade here. This song (which I like a lot) feels like eerily as if Soyeon from (G)-Idle was given a Blackpink song to remix.
OK, I absolutely love the song and I love Jieun’s lines, but everybody’s like oh my gosh there’s so much Jieun, this is so much better, and I completely disagree. There is a slightly more Jieun in the music video than there was in the previous ones, but not really that much more, and she has just as much, if not less lines than before. she’s always had about three very small parts, or in Ponzoña two, but they were a little bit longer. And then in this music video two of her parts are just onomatopoeia, no lyrics. She sounds great doing them, but still. I really think she is capable of so much as a vocalist. She has a stunning voice, a low tone and register that adds a really nice contrast to the group, and if you watched her pre-debut covers you know that she is really good. I’m not saying she should become main vocalist or anything but come on, the distribution got much fair this era except for Jiun’s lines in my opinion. But this song is amazing and all the members absolutely killed it I love it so much.
