In this twenty-sixth installment of our quarterly series, Philosophers in the Midst of History, I discuss the life, thought, and influence of the Modern philosopher, Immanuel Kant. We look at his historical situation in the university system of 18th century Prussia, during a time of significant intellectual and social change, which included the French Revolution. We discuss the background, importance, and key themes of his works and the influence his philosophy had upon subsequent thinkers and even society.
