This is the first video im watching from you and i am impressed! You have a pleasant voice. I cant understand every single word (im german) but its not important cuz you can describe it very well. Keep up the great work +1 Sub :D
It's interesting, South Korean industry has boomed in the last 10 years, with Samsung (yes alot of people think they're Japanese but they're not) Kia and Hyundai booming. I really like the Cee'd GT but agree with the interior quality, the one i drove was in white and looked great. I think if you look carefully rather than come up with a unique design they just copy the ideas of the more successful euro hot hatches. From the rear it reminds me of a Seat Leon, A class merc, from the front i think Ford focus some of the better selling cars in europ so clearly they've gone with a model that should have some appeal looks wise. The only problem with the GT i found was when i turned up to test drive it i drove my fiesta ST (new shape) and stepping out of the cee'd back into the ST i realised why the fiesta ST was a much better choice. Nice review btw keep them coming.
The ST is a proper hot hatch though, whereas the GT is a lukewarm hatch - it's their first venture into the world of performance cars. Give them a bit more time and I'm confident they'll make something that'll be a proper rival to the ST. And thanks, we will do! SW
How was the fuel consumption in your test, I'm tempted by this car, but saw a few videos where at higher speeds it had similar mpg to a Megane RS and that has a larger engine and more horse power
I'd agree with those reviews. Its fuel consumption should be better considering it's a 1.6 litre. I think it could just be because it's a smaller engine in a big car, so at higher speeds the Renault would in theory be doing less work to maintain the same speed. SW
I have owned my gt for over a year no problems 7 year warranty . The car is aimed at the fiesta st Renault Clio small hot hatches . Not focus st or golf seat Leon rivals . Stop putting it in the same class as them . 200bhp vs 250 -300 it's no match for hot hot hatches .
newmotoring The golf has been 40 years in the making .This is Kia first attempt at a hot hatch im sure in 5-10 years down line they will be matching or beating these other rivals in that sector .
This is no doubt for those who think about getting the Golf GTI too. Its just not as fast and not as good in terms of pure sport but other than that the car is on par. Its just missing the extra power to compete.
It is still in the same class as a focus, golf etc. You can't compare a focus to a smart car and you can't compare a sporty hatch to a class lower just because it matches those cars better in terms of power displacement. If Kia wanted to aim a sporty hatch at the Fiesta or Cilo they would need to make a Rio GT.
Standard DS3 or DS3 performance? Think the Pro Cee'd GT/DS3 choice entirely down to personal preference. They're quite different to drive and different sizes! Personally I'd probably have the DS3, but, for example, the driving position in the Kia is so much better!
If you're choosing between a standard DS 3 or a Pro Cee'd GT drive both and decide from there - they're quite different choices! Depends whether you want sport or comfort, fuel economy or performance etc. DS 3 would probably hold its value a bit better.
My sister owned a Kia Rio for four years and the thing spent more time being fixed than she drove it. The car was forever broken. I am completely put off KIA cars.
I've owned a 1.6 petrol Cee'd since 2007, no significant problems with 205000 km on the clock. Actually switching it for a pro cee'd gt in a few months.
If this car were in the US market I wouldn't own a Veloster Turbo right now....God I love this car.
I like it a lot, too. Looks fantastic!

Good video Sean, I've got a Proceed GT coming next week and I'm looking forward to it!
Nice review 😉

It would be nice to see a Focus ST or Golf GTI rival though, wouldn't it? Hopefully Kia will do one in the near future.

This or a DS3 ? Can't decide ?

my 2014 GT has a diffrent steering wheel, was it changed in newer models?
Yep. Facelift in 2015
You say its not fast coming from a 1.6 litre car when you get 5 litre cars taking 4 seconds to get to 60 mp/h...

They're getting better though. Kias today are very different machines to the ones a few years ago. But point taken!

Let us know how the GT turns out!
Let us know how it is! And 205,000km is A LOT! Good effort!
