So I came across your channel and I’ll tell you one of my experiences in this place. I visited this place 3 years ago. I was just 15 years old and I visited this place with my parents. So we were headed to darjeeling that afternoon by car. But in between the road our car stopped. It was some engine issue and we had no other option but to stop where we were. I googled any place to stop at night and it was showing “The Morgan House” as the nearest place to where we were. We walked 1 km or so and didn’t take our bags with us. My dad knew someone who could fix the car but he said it would take him a day as he wasn’t around. Anyways so we called this place and they said us that they didn’t have any rooms vacant. So we were in search of another place near by. But as soon as we left the premises we got a call,”A guest requested to check out if you’d still be interested to have the room.” We were went back inside and the guy at reception said us that one of the family members got really sick and so they requested checkout. So he cleaned the room & gave us the keys and showed us our room. The worst part was none of us really knew what the back story of the hotel was. So we stayed in and soon it was 9 pm. I was alone in the room and my parents went down to take a walk. I could see then through my window and I was watching a few downloads from my youtube videos. That’s when my mom called me and said me to go downstairs for dinner. I locked the room and as clearly as I remember I turned the lights off before shutting the door. We went down had dinner and soon my mom asks me for the keys as she wanted to go upstairs and sleep because of the tiring journey we had. When i and my dad walked around by the garden. When we got back to the room my mom asked me why I kept the lights on. When I clearly remember I didn’t. But we just ignored it. Later that night my parents slept on bed and I was given a cot besides. I slept there and all of a sudden my eyes opened up. It was 2:47 am. I refuse to get up but I felt like someone was fighting in the corridor. I pressed my ears against the pillow and slept. Next morning I said my parents about the weird feeling I had but they just thought it as a bad nightmare and ignored it. While I was saying them there was a worker besides us and he came to us and said that feeling is very normal here. My mom responds,”Excuse me?”. He proceeds to say, ”This is India’s 8th haunted place and many people have felt a presence of someone apart from their family members. I haven’t personally had any experiences as such because we leave the premises as soon as it’s twilight but in evenings when sometimes we are asked to work an hour extra or so we do feel a negative presence or weird feeling about the aroma of this place.” That is when I was shocked and we left the place at 11 am. I fell sick after for 3 days or so. But it was an experience that’ll stick to me for the rest of my life. If you read it all the way till here thank you and sorry to consume so much of your time. ❤

Morgan House is a famous tourist lodge/hotel in Kalimpong and also a heritage building.. and whatever incidents might have happened there, thousands of people book accommodation here every year. This is also a government property, which is maintained better than average. There is no haunting in the house, so, please don't execute such projects here. Also when in the mountains/Himalayas.. after sunset most of the places are dark, solo treks can be horrible for people who tend to get afraid in dark, even if you walk for some kilometers on the road after dark, you will find it adventurous. Kindly do not post such content as this might impact negatively and hurt the tourism business in the area, and people who are not looking for this kind of adventure. There is a slight possibility that Morgan House may become a little more attractive for people looking for ghosts/spirits and so on, but such chances are always rare.
Please try to respect this place for its location, ambiance, and tranquility it offers. Visit Kalimpong and associated areas for the majestic view of Mount Kanchenjungha and her mighty brothers and sisters, you may search for spirits or ghosts elsewhere.
