I am sorry to say that I have a general, but not an exact understanding of what element(s) precisely delineates one form of ballet from another (i.e., classical, neoclassical, contemporary, modern, etc.) because in my mind, aside from THE classics, with rare exception, most pieces would not fit neatly into a single category. In my own novice mind, I typically consider ballet that uses traditional ballet disciplinary form en pointe in a non-traditional choreographic style to be “neoclassical.” So that’s what I think of this piece. :/ I hope that helps.
