If you are taking your ASUS K52J laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.

Thanks, used this to help tear down my K52 enough to replace the hinges. I thought I only broke one but it turned out both had snapped in half and it was somehow holding together enough for me to keep using it for a couple of weeks.

Jeden K52 gehäuse seht gleich aus. Es ist besser für das genaue Model zo kaufen, aber nicht wichtig wenn das Teil genau gleich aussieht.

does the chip on the topside of the motherboard have a thermal pad or thermal paste on it? i am reading temps on my notebook from 58 degrees celsius and i am looking for the chipset heatsink

does de heatsink use normal thermal paste or thermal pads? my cpu and gpu are running hot and i want to replace the compound but want to know first if its paste or pads or both

Do you remember how much ram did this laptop had? I can get this laptop for a really cheap price. The person told me that it has 4 gb of ram but i don't know if its 1x4 or 2x2. If its 1x4 i might get more ram for it. He sells it really cheap because of a broken hinge which i can fix really easily with this disassembly video.

Hello, a wide black line has appear on my screen recently. I tried in conecting the laptop in other screem and the line did not show up. I guessed it was a problem of a cable conecting the screen with the computer (the hing does not move softly, it makes a "crac" sound), but I have seen there ir no cable through the hings).

Hey, what is that thing in the middle at 1:14 to which the orange thingy from fan is connected to? CPU? My K55VM has two of them, one is CPU another is some ram-like blue board. Is it the Nvidia 630M? :/
Do you know, can we replace a K52JU mainboard with a K52JC mainboard? If possible, do I have to replace other (cable, copper cooler etc) things?

Hi @regazz, I encounter a problem where my nvidia graphic card seems to be not attached correctly. Loosen or something.
So just one question, is the PCI board you detach on 6:47 the nVidia graphic card?
In this clip it seems to be a ATI graphic card (look at the patch) but maybe its similar. Should be one of the 2 chips under the copper-"heatsink-pipe" at 2:34
In (most) laptops graphic cards are integrated to motherboard to gain space.
In this laptop, the mother board is split in 3 parts. But the removable "side" parts are just for ports like Power Jack or USB or HDMI, etc... Probably for fast aftermaket servicing (just change entire parts and not (de)solder anything). Graphic """"card"""" (you should call it "area") is next to the CPU in the central part of the mother board, where you can see 4 soldered RAM (graphical RAM)

Under GPU there is 4 black square : Graphical RAM
Under CPU there is 2 slot for main RAM.
Hi could you help me with where to find and how the replace the screen graphics card? according to the specifics its ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD5145 with 512MB DDR3 VRAM on this computer and i need to replace it since the screen doesn't turn on (even when i plug it to another screen so i assume its the graphics card)

You cannot. In most laptops (and it's the case here) graphic cards are directly integrated to motherboard or soldered to it. If the hardware is deficient, you got to replace the entire motherboard...

Hey, i got the same notebook and i use it to play mobas like lol/dota2, but sometimes the cpu utilization overloads and i'm dropping frames, heavily. Do you know where the problem could be? have a nice day:)
