- Опубликовано: 7 май 2020
- One of the BIGGEST struggles with playing the piano is to get your hands to listen to each other and your brain. It's like they have a mind of their own. Check out some of these comments from our Hand Independence lesson ( • Piano Hand Independenc... ):
"My problem is my left-hand thinks he's the right hand." - budzie budzie
"Who else’s brain malfunctions every time you try using both hands?" - Sebas 18
Sound like you? Well, you're NOT alone! This is tough stuff, especially for adult learners, because we THINK we should be able to do it easily.
So I'm going to start from the beginning and show you some tips that are really simple, so you can start playing with both hands and feel good about it.
Here they are:
- Five-tone scale - 0:40
- The full scale - 2:03
- Triads and inversions - 3:37
If you don't quite "get" inversions right now, watch this lesson: • Piano Chord Inversions

Can we learn Piano on Keyboard?
Me trying to press a key with one finger.
My left hand: Actually i prefer 2.
Yea me too
same lol
*r e l a t a b l e*
Same
its free real estate
Since doing these exercises my hands have separated from my brain and have created and signed a Declaration of Independence.
hi guys, the greatest results that ive had was by following the Denelle Piano Lesson (i found it on google) definately the most incredible idea that I have ever tried.
Hey everyone, the best success that ive had was by using the Denelle Piano Lesson (just google it) definately the best method that I have ever tried.
Looks like your hands have organised a mutual coup !!!
Sound might even say, a Declaration of Han-dependence 😏
Lol.
My right hand :plays the piano beautifully
My left hand :hey i wanna join
My brain :i think it will be chaos you two work together
Same 😭😭
She makes me so excited to keep practicing!
What are the odds bro
I know right she’s so energetic
How are your fingers now?
Yup. She gives off sunlight
Your energy , your enthusiasm makes it all the more interesting and motivational to go hit the piano ourselves!!
The loud / soft thing caused my brain to start leaking out my ears. Thanks. LOL...Thanks for these - they are truly helpful. Growing new brain bits now.
hahaha
What!? 😂
same
you got better ?
Lol!!!!
*I started going slow. I took 20 years to touch my piano. Then today creeped in slowly and pressed a key and ran away.* Thanks
I'm 73yo Aussie. Just acquired my first keyboard.
Love these lessons.
For this one I had to slow the RUclips replay to half speed which not only made it possible for me to understand what your hands are doing in the triad inversions but also gave me a chuckle. You, lovely teacher, sounded 'pissed as a newt' at half speed!
Two for the price of one. Thanks.
Hello, I'm 73 too...in UK... just had to check out the half speed...... really made me laugh...
soon to be 74
Half-speed: full bore comedy value! 😂🤣😅
Are you dead
66 year old now in Swizzerland and I get my daily dose of Lisa for four months. And agree completely with the half speed, I felt my face using muscles I hadn't used in decades.
i've quit piano for almost 7 years but i'm thinking of starting again and she is so sweet and kind, she really encourage me
The thing I like about this channel is that they're more than just great tutorials.
You give us incentive, motivation and self belief. Now, that's a triad 🎹
That's a MAJOR Triad.
Here are the three tips!
- Five-tone scale - 0:40
- The full scale - 2:03
- Triads and inversions - 3:37
Which one's your favorite? Which one's kinda frustrating? ;)
The triad/inversion practice is very difficult whether it's played individually or simultaneously even when it's practice slowly. The 2 hand scaling is the favorite of all. The 2-hand dynamics is not as frustrating as the triad/inversions.
@@derrickblakely2626, I agree with you.
Derrick Blakely agree
@@klarrizyoung3446 yes
Favourite...full scale; Frustrating....inversions hands together!😩
I am 14 years. It's very useful for me to play with my both hands after watching this video. 👍
She's too good at this to be human
You're a good teacher. You know what you're doing, not just teaching, but you really know how to. Live long and prosper 🤘🏼
Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
Lean into the keys and be intentional, that’s great advice
I leaned into the keys and I fell into a musical portal please help me out
Just bought my keyboard and have yet to make a start on actually playing. Watching vids to get an idea of what’s what. This channel seems about the most positive I’ve come across so far. Wish me luck!
Gudluck then, the key to perfection is repetition, practice makes perfect.
@@chloetzpiano6548 but no one give a time table when your hands 🤚 become independent self employed
I absolutely love you positive and upbeat energy and vibes, they just make it hard not to smile and be happy
I love her. She is very straight forward and always keeps it simple. Very helpful!
What helped me get both hands together, is using my left hand predominantly. I sprained my right thumb and had to wear a cast, resulting in me using my left hand for literally almost everything for around a month. Then when i finally took it off, i noticed an instant improvement, it really feels like two separate hands and its very cool when you feel them separately when playing
So I should sprain my good hand in order to get good at playing piano
got it, let me go find a hammer and smash my right hand

Your enthusiastic and bubbly delivery make your lessons a cut above the rest. Thank you!
Love your energy. Clear precise instruction, you make me feel better by saying it’s hard and you make it feel like it’s doable. ❤
My right hand: plays very good
Left hand: good
Together: disasters
You are love as a teacher 😍 thanx for inspiring me and making me open my piano bag daily 😊👍
I freakin’ love this channel! How I wish I could be her piano student😭
Same with me.
Aw thanks Cheryl!!
Cheryl Parr but I cant even do that without her next to me😭
Woah, your energy is so fantastic that I feel extremely lucky to have found this video.
Thank you!
Following you and I am really learning an improving. Please keep sharing similar important stuff. Thank you very much for making it seem really easy
Omggg looking at her excitement and positive attitude I feel like learning more and more 💕😛
Thank you for sharing the techniques and finger positions. Really helpful.
Thank you ...I have just taken up piano & ur lessons r too good ....have been telling my family tat my teacher is awsome 🤟
Thank you so much! i indeed practiced full scale...and after 15-20 mins of repetitions..it was autopilot. Thank you!
I was really intimidated at first, but when I watched this video it sorta became easy to learn
This is what I always wanted to learn how to handle both hands together ! Thanks for this video :)
Thank you for the advice! I'm going to practice this!
I've been a percussionist for 8 years and I've always been able to play piano in the same way I'd play a mallet instrument, but I haven't been able to do it in the correct or traditional manner. I can play piano to a certain degree, but I couldn't play something where I need to play a chord in one hand and some melodic phrase in the other. This helped with that. Thanks.
These tips were very helpful. It makes my wrists ache, but I'll do wrist exercises! Thanks for helping us!
I really like this. I've a lot to learn but at least this is pushing me in the right direction. Thank you.
I just Started Learning Piano recently and I had a Hard time playing with Both Hands Thank you so much for the Tips
I'm WWWAAAYYY to advanced to be watching this....but it's Lisa.
And she gave me two tips that will help me lots to take my piano playing to the next level. And I started by day in the best way possible.
Merci beaucoup, Bella.
Thanks for sharing... Am excited to practice..
Thank you so much! I'm going to start with my 5-scale tomorrow...I already did my lesson today and I'm fried! Thank you SO SO Much!
Thank you so much for this channel! I really wanna play some Undertale songs but can't play with both hands. I then found out about this channel and it's so cool! It made my practice so much more fun and i makes me feel like I achieved something every practice session, and that keeps me going and helps me to stay determined! Again, thanks so much!
Did it help u coordinate ur hands ?
Thank you so much for this valuable help!!❤
This is a really helpful lesson. Many thanks 🌹🌻
Very inspiring and fun! Thank you!
Thank you so much for all your tutorials.
great video, now il know how to improve those important skills
I’m here to try and make my brother’s birthday special, it’s in July and I used to be able to play both hands but now they won’t! I was actually directed here via a pokemon music tutorial (on the piano) So lets hope it goes well!
Thank you for the tips I love to practice more now and I m improving
Helpful
This is lesson what i need..tks, like your video & lovely you ...bless you
I love your teaching methods…and the smile too 💕
I admire her, the way she talk.❤️
This video is great! Helps me alot... Especially on the left hand. Thank you. 🐱
I respect her so much. She is the best.
Thank you so much. I love piano. I can play the right hand separately and I can play the left hand separately. But when I try to put them both together, it's a disaster.
I struggled with this as a child when I took piano lessons and teachers weren't that helpful back then.
Now as an adult, I really want to learn how to play the piano properly.
And I think the first step is to gain more strength in both my hands by just practicing scales for a few weeks and then move on to play some simple songs
However the practice Processing is frustrating, this energetic beautiful tutorial makes me want to go on practicing, thank you for your great tips 👍👍👍
I've been practicing on the triad inversions and it gets me frustrated, and exhausted, and when that happens, I stop and take a break. There's no instant gratification, but we all want to play songs right away.
Thanks for the great tips! 😃👍🏼
I really like the way she teach positive vibes.🙂
How I'd like you to speak in Italian to better understand your lessons. Explain your theory really well, I'm sorry I can't understand everything because of my bad English!
You're very good.
Thank you! Helps alot😁😀
Absolutely love your videos!
thanks for the lesson
thank you for those tips
This helps so much since am learning from videos
Syndicated coordination: I am so amateur! I am having fun though. I don't know scales. I know the notes. I practice the notes and say them out loud sometimes when I am playing Over The Rainbow, as it is the first song I am learning by notes. I have a difficult time transitioning playing both intervals at the same time. So, I had to set some guidelines: 1. Gratitude for learning. 2. Meditate before playing. 3. Play something I can play without concentrating so much on notes. 4. Then concentrate on the notes. 5. Then go into lessons so that way I can transition in stages, while transitioning both hands with ease. Once I have mastered Over The Rainbow, or some in between, I want to learn to play this song: "Yann Tiersen - Comptine d`un autre ete - l`apres-midi". I am having so much awesome fun and really appreciate all that you have to teach. I also love the movie Music of the Heart and sometimes envision myself as a kid learning to play and not to quit just because it is hard. I feel very confident and fueled to exert positive energy while learning. What I discovered tonight is to memorize the play set without concentrating so much on the visual lessons from youtube, and just memorize the lower interval side of Over The Rainbow (left side), and upper intervals (right side). Once I memorize it, I think I will have a much easier time learning to master playing with both hands. One day, one lesson at a time, indeed.
Thank you for these lessons
I love your lessons Lisa, you're born to do that.
I'd love to ask you to do some tutorial type of video on "how to play Soothing music".
I listen a lot to Peder B. Helland and his songs are so beautiful and relaxing.
We have a few soothing lessons I think: ruclips.net/video/9QyaeFAyg1A/видео.html

I love your enthusiasm 😀
Thank you ma'am really nice lesson
Encouraging lesson....thank u ...
It's almost like typing without looking, just a lot of practice
Just Some Guy without a Mustache Well, except when you’re typing’ you’re only typing one letter at the same time with one finger at a time :) And of course because of that, you never need your both hands doing different rythms at the same time haha
But yeah, it’s still just practice :)
Except you can't play Fortnite on the piano(i mean that game, not the looby song).
I mean lobby
Great help
You are a great teacher
Thanks, Lisa, see you tomorrow on the live stream.
Thanks for your vid🙏🏾🙏🏾😍💕
Thank you this helped me a lot!!!
I Love you!!!! I loveeeeeee it😍😍😍 your teaching is fun
Thanks for that 🙏
Thank you for this exersize!
Oh my gosh I adore you. You can teach me. And that’s saying something!
More please for beginners!!
Your sooo motivating!!
I can’t afford a keyboard so I’m learning the melodica lol, this was still so helpful thank you!!
Bruh I've never heard of triads before 💀 I'll def practice that instead of jumping straight into the unknown
Lisa, you love life, music, and teaching. It is so obvious, contagious, and uplifting. Thanks for putting your smile on the world! { :
Hai. I have proble when doing piano excercise. Why and whay happen to my Little finger (both) always raised up. Unable control it. I thought these will make scale not going smooth. Can you give some tips?
I only learn piano until grade 1 that was 10 years ago. I still play the piano but my left hand isnt that much cooperating with me. is there a way without reading the music sheet to polish my skills and exercise my fingers again, my fingers are rusty.
It also helps a lot to just tap the rythm on the table. That way you can just focus on the rythm without thinking about the correct notes. Once your brain gets the feeling of the hands working together you don't have to think about it anymore. Then you can start focussing on the right notes
Thanks
hello, i have dyspraxia is there something different i have to do or do i have to just try a lot more often
Thank you so much
3 words You are AWESOME
Thank you teacher 💕
Hii
Could you tell how much time in a day should atleast be devoted to playing?
