In no way is she a Brit. She is Dublin born & bred. Look up what nation that city is in & educate urself about the borders of ur own nation. I've met Laura a few times & if u called her British she would b very quick to correct u & quite annoyed. I'm sure ur not a bad person, but it's truly disturbing how many British people think the Republic of Ireland is in Britain. Shocking that the British education system is still so colonial in 2012. @JazzyJ1318 My grandma was alone for most of her life after divorcing my grandfather. She stayed optimistic about life and new love. Welcomed opportunities and never felt sorry for herself. Now she is 60 years old and about 6 months ago met the man of her dreams and they are in love. It's like she is 18 all over again... just thought i would share that for anybody thinking that love has to be born at a certain age...=)
She was scared about not finding anybody else at this age in her life she is 50! The chances that she will find someone else are slim. A shared relationship is all she can look forward to at this ount and time. It was a very imPortant conversation in the class and an eye opener about what the prospects are for women in this age group! they are limited and she was questioning whether its better to fight for him to stay or let him go because he wants to go!
@JazzyJ1318 Tell your student that she is not alone. Many of us go through this. When she is truly sick and tired ~ SHE will leave. You know the song by R. Kelly, "When a Woman is Fed Up"...."there aint nothin you can do about it." She will get through it, many of us have and continue to grow and have faith that she will love again. It wont happen until she gets rid of her blockage.
