You need a torque wrench. And open the brake fluid reservoir before pushing the piston back. And you can use an old pad to push the piston back evenly.
Hey thanks for commenting, we actually did open the reservoir before pushing the pistons back...just forgot to film that part...that's a great idea with the brake pad thou thx, and we were sure to give everything a good Ugaduga 😉
I'd personally clean all the rust off those hubs as well as spread some anti sieze or fluid film before sliding the new rotor on. Also what thread specs do you need for the rotors so you can pop em off? Other than that and the comment about using an old pad, great video :)
Yeah it's called a backing plate, it's to help protect from dust and debris as well as water. It also helps direct air to cool the pads and rotors. Most of the time they are very rusty lol, as long as they are still in place it's normally ok though
What a good video. Thank you I will be doing same job to same exact car. Thank you. Does it matter if the car was made in Canada or USA for brake pads and rotors?
i cannot get the bolts out of the caliper! got the first one, the other two, i have used PB Blast, WD40, Torch, breaker bar, breaker sockets and all i ended up with is a rounded bolt that does NOT budge! Please help!
You might end up having to cut the head of the bolt off and then once the tension is off and the caliper is off you maybe be able to spin the bolt out with vise grips
But before that, try maybe an extractor set such as this REXBETI Impact Bolt & Nut Remover Set, 13 Pieces Bolt Extractor Tool Set with Solid Storage Case www.amazon.com/dp/B07W91Y3LQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_REQ0B30YHQC8GQVNVZ4S
But all that being said I have had lug nuts on wheels be completely seized, and rounded off, but once I drilled it out enough to break the head off, I was able to spin the left over threads out with my fingers. So that may end up being your best bet
They might be with the tire kit in your car, if they aren't... you'll have to get some bolts that fit, or if the rotors aren't too stuck on, you can use a rubber hammer to get them lose 👍
So far your rx video better then others 👍
😢
Thank you 😁
Use the old pad over the piston to push in instead of having the F clamp making contact against the piston.
very good, quick into the point only speaking on NECESSARY information and good camera angle… excellent DIY, this was chris fix quality
Wow thank you

I was thinking to find a piece of metal, but what a great idea thank you.
Hey I got an idea... what if.. you crack the bleeder open AND have the brake reservoir open?

very informative and helpful. Easy to understand. explained in detail.
Awsome job explaining. You were very easy to follow. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
great video. thanks so much!
Thanks for creating this video.
You bet 👍
God bless you.
hey thanks man great video love you lots
Perfect!! I wanted to be sure I was going to do the job quickly and correctly and this was like I said, perfect!
Thank you.
Thank you 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻 this was a life saver!
You are so welcome Veronica 🙂, that really makes me feel good to hear that ☺️.
Great video
What is that behind it? A dust shield? Mine are so rusty back there.

Rear brakes too? Coming from German cars myself. You don't need to rotate the piston (with that special dye) as you push it in?
good job
Good job, thank you. I like wearing gloves when working with grease, fluids and chemicals. :)
Good stuff bro !.. yes. Open the reservoir bf pushing caliper .
Haha forgot to mention that 😬
Hi, please show me how to open lower bolt arm. thanks
Thanks for vid! Was an easy change of pads on a 2001... Number 91 like tho should be a lot more..
Make sure you press the brake pedal several times before you drive. Have to push the pads back to the rotors.
Very good addition, thank you, incredibly important 👌🏼

I'm not sure if there are differences 🤔
great video bro
What size bolt to take rotors off again?
I wish I could remember, I think it was an M6 bolt, but I don't know the thread pitch
Wonderful. Why do I need a torque wrench?

I haven't used that particular set, but those kind of sockets may be able to grip it
But all that being said I have had lug nuts on wheels be completely seized, and rounded off, but once I drilled it out enough to break the head off, I was able to spin the left over threads out with my fingers. So that may end up being your best bet
I really hope the bolts aren't cross threaded somehow
Good work bro
Where did you get those bolts to remove the rotors ?
They might be with the tire kit in your car, if they aren't... you'll have to get some bolts that fit, or if the rotors aren't too stuck on, you can use a rubber hammer to get them lose 👍
Good job but he never cleans the rotors with brake clean to remove the coating off the rotors to prevent them from rusting in the warehouse..😢
Yep! Gonna let my mechanic handle this
It’s an old car you should flush out the old brake fluid.
Great video.
