Holy crap, just came over from the Jeepers Creepers video you guys made and I'm stunned about how much the quality has improved in just a few months! The Reviews were already great, now the presentation fits the great quality! Awesome Job! ❤
Thank you so much! That really means a lot. We always like to tweak and improves things, it helps keep things interesting for us. Hopefully one day we can have the dream set where we can control the sound and lighting better 😂
Ironically another maritime horror film was released in the same year called Below with Olivia Wilde and Bruce Davison. It was directed by David Twohy of the Pitch Black franchise and produced by Dimension Films. It takes place during WW2 on a submarine and it's sort of a Agatha Christie mystery with supernatural elements. Apparently a troubled production that originally written as an Alien ripoff on a submarine by Darren Aronofsky; the movie was dumped into a couple of theaters to promote its quick video release. Again, it's a deeply flawed film storywise but its well directed with great performances from the cast.
We've never heard of this film, but it sounds like something we'd enjoy! You'd think something with Aronofsky's name attached to it would be more well known. Ironically when we searched it on Google Images we got a load of pictures from Ghost Ship 😂
@@ycft According to Wikipedia the film Aronofsky wrote called Proteus was a cross between a WW2 submarine thriller with an Alien-like sci/horror film. Director David Twohy took over the project and rewrote it as a psychological ghost story/murder mystery instead. They kept Aronofsky's writer/producer credits though I doubt he had anything to do with the production. Because he refused to recut the film to make it PG-13, Dimension just dumped the movie into the theater for a limited run with little marketing earning the film only $605,000. It's only slowly developing a cult following due to streaming/physical media exposure, but most people have never heard of it. It will be released on 4K in November.
@@guillermo9631 David has been reading through some Reddit threads and it does look like within the last 5 years the film has found its footing. Dimension were always bad at dumping films that they didn't believe in, it's such a shame! It's nice that even int he time of streaming, collecting physical media is still a big thing an it's helped so many obscure films make their way into the light. Below looks like one of those films where if it has been made a few years later, they would have put it on a streaming service and it probably would have done well.
Thank You for the Review 😀
Have you seen there's a trailer and release date for Salem's Lot! It looks like it might even get a cinema release in the UK!
@@ycft Yes, Thank You! Excited, but not that impressed. 😀

I like it, but I think Lost Voyage is better. Lance Henriksen is horror movie royalty.
