No the plastic parts are made at wang lee factory only. Then shipped out to the other guys shops where they have their workers assemble all the pieces.
Great input Troy! I find leagondary to be more expensive even with their other smaller scale models as well! Mostly Hosim copy cats but, to me quite a bit more expensive. Once in a while I might see a good deal from them that might justify the price, for instance, they might throw in some paddle tires or a third battery or what have you, but most of the time most would be just as well to save money and go with the brand that they are copying! Great video Troy!✌🏻😊💯
Completely agree, unless you’re just in love with the body shell just get the hosim. There are 3 or 4 names out there using this same design under different names. I had the zeinelhong 9125 for a while, exact same chassis.
I'm super new to RC stuff, but I bought the Hosim after watching a couple of your videos. I saw where you used different batteries on the truck, but I'm not sure what 3s battery will work with this. Any insight?
The biggest constraint is the size of the battery box. I believe I used this battery: amzn.to/3W6Dp5r Please double-check the size of the battery vs the size of the battery box. I may have actually used a different way to secure the battery in temporarily.
@@RoadsideRC Following up here. Wow, what a fun truck. I'm truly impressed. I have been running it stock batteries etc. and it's quick. We love this truck. Daddy now wants a brushless RC. Any recommendations on a good budget truck? Looking for 4x4 for sure. thanks!
@@Malvarez909 I'm very very happy with the 1/18th scale DeerC brushless 300E. It's a rugged mini-basher with plenty of zip. The Hyper Go H16BM is another you could consider and comes quite highly recommended. Very feature packed- and SERIOUSLY fast (with optional 3s battery). Also it's 1/16 and will be more capable. I just wanted a truck body and not a truggy but if you don't mind the truggy look, that's thing is tough to beat for $150
Awesome video and Rcs brother I have the very first leagendary that is "splash " proof and the updated version of it Not Splash proof . Both are the same in every way except for the "Splash " proof " 1 . Thanks for sharing 👍🥶👍
Got 2 legendary rc for my two boys and the cars are pretty tuff so far made repairs to lower arms popping off and the pin on the dog bone wearing off that connects to where the tire mounts. But still a good rc for small beginners. I got them at the time when it was marked at $139.99 black and blue. But thanks for comparing. Know of how to do any performance upgrades for this car?
Glad to hear you (and the boys) have been enjoying it. I have not had the issues you are talking about - but will keep an eye out for them. Thanks for the heads-up on those. Honestly - I am not sure these trucks are worth modifying in any way. They are fun, and part of their durability comes from their design. If you add more power, or more traction, I am concerned it will not work out for you in durability.
Seems to be the norm lately and not just in RCs. You see the exact same item under several different names. I guess that's not bad for RCs since it should be easier to find parts when you need them. Thanks for the info Troy.👍👍
Great video and i was surprised with that major price difference . Im thinking of buying my wife a laegendary grando for her birthday but now after watching your video i wonder if theres another company making the same truck as the laegendary grando cheaper
@@RoadsideRC it’s got some good features out of the box that big name brands don’t like that winch . Lights, and that two speed is a game changer. I still haven’t bought it yet but next week I’m going to get one for my wife . It would be nice if there were a rebranded one that was cheaper like in the case of the rigs in your video .
Honestly, don't put too much emphasis on a 2-speed. In general use, I have found them to be rather useless. A Hobbywing 1080 esc with a 21T Holmes Hobbies motor - running on 3S gives all the high-speed plus low-speed you need. Just my opinion.
Hi there! I believe these are the ones I used in this truck before: amzn.to/3FMsvwo They don't fit great, so you may want to compare the size of the battery box to the dimensions of the battery. If that doesn't work, maybe these will: amzn.to/3HtZPJA
@@billallen4793 my hosim x08 has been nothing but a money pit and an overall piece of garbage. The gearboxes stripped out within 2 battery packs, there is an auto brake function on the esc that causes the truck to nosedive when jumping, the drive trains are cheap pot metal and bent right away, the ajustable toe is cheap and broke where the plastic meets the metal, the swing arms break where they meet the chassis, the screws all need to be locktight in order to stay in,. These are only a few problems I've had with the car and all together I spent 300 dollars in it before any of that stuff broke. Hosim refused to refund my money and I had only drive the car 2 battery packs on flat ground no bashing at all at that point. I've replaced hundreds of dollars in parts on that car just to have another piece break right after that. Also the gear boxes were completely dry from the factory. If you can't even drive the thing without something breaking its useless and sits broken 90% of the time. I had to buy another r.c. just to be able to have fun which is the whole point not fixing the damn thing all the time.
Thanks for the input,I had the laegendry in my cart, but now I'm changing it ,wow $40 difference for the same thing, thanks 👍
Happy it saved you some $$$!
This is the best RUclips truck vs truck video. Thanks
Thanks 👍
@@RoadsideRC where there any interference with one remote controlling 2 cars. Did they work on separate signals
@@thebull5099 There is no interference with this newer style of controller.
Same truck. Only difference is one is made by Mr. Lee, the other is made by Mr. Chang...and before you get offended, Im Chinese.
Yes - very similar trucks!
Lol nice
I'm guessing Mr Lee made miss spelled legendary truck

I use a 3s with both of them, and they remind me of the stampede.
im stoked to get my first rc truck. I went with the Leagendary and got a killer deal on amazon for $60. Can't wait to try it out with my kiddo.
That is a great deal!

I have been very curious about the Grando also. But the price is basically right there with a Redcat Gen8. Hard to justify.

@@RoadsideRC that’s good to know, because we will be new to tenth scale wheelin. I will definitely keep that in mind
I was really hoping you were going to compare the Thunder to the guess it's Hosim super power? At least that's what the side of the truck says.
Don't have that truck!

OK, thank you. My husband just bought the Hosim 1/10 scale super power brushless today on Amazon for $179. Hope it's a good one.
LEAGENDARY is much cheaper now just make sure you buy metal upgrades if it doesn’t come with it.
Thanks for the update!
I just bought one of each 😆
I hope you enjoy them!
Which one would you say is faster?
The Hosim was $148, and the LAEGENDARY was $100 today on Amazon.
looks like the same truck just re-branded.
I think it is!
And you get a free body which I love
That is really nice!
i know im late, but can two of them together tow the X-Maxx? keep up the great videos, thank you.
Ha! Fun idea!
I don't think they would have a chance vs the X-maxx. The size difference is quite large.
Only issue I have with the lagendary is the battery life is horrible
I haven't had that issue.
Check out bezgar rc trucks they are just as good and around the hosim price! I think better :)
Thanks! I have had 1-2 and agree, pretty similar in price and performance.
You should make one of those brushless like a budget build that’s what I’m trying to do one day
I’m new to the rc car world but want a s3 battery for my legendary rc car can someone link me one?

Neither, the Xinlehong or Blomiky version is the best 9125
Thanks!
Legendary, you can put a cardboard turd up against hosim and the turd would win hands down.
Did you actually watch the video?
@@RoadsideRC at work didn't have time, hosim is on my shitlist so no matter who or what it is they win. Hosim can suck a fart.
