This was so helpful! If offered interviews I will be hearing back from schools around Aug/Sept this year. In the meantime, I have been working on questions and am going to schedule a mock interview with The PA Platform to really make sure I'm hitting all the marks!

How long should the answer to "Tell me about yourself" be? I have heard answers ranging from 30 seconds to no more than 3 minutes. I have a 3 minute answer but I am concerned that is too long. I include why my family, friends, and serving the disadvantaged is important to me and makes me who I am.
Also, for the "Why do you want to be PA", I basically answered that in my personal statement, I probably should not reiterate my personal statement since they have already read that.

Is there a time limit to be mindful of when answering the "why do you want to be a PA" question? I don't want my answer to be too long winded if my chronological story is a long one.

Sounds like preparing for being the defendant in a criminal trial, and without a clear understanding of what you are being accused of.

I'm 23 and I decided to drop out of highschool my senior year 🙄. I never got around to getting my GED because I was making decent wage because I was a GM for 2 years. I recently left and I'm doordashing now because I can make my own schedule and it's a nice break from working 60-80hrs. Since I'm dashing and I have more free time I've been thinking about getting my GED and going to school. Ive always liked the idea of nursing but then I stumbled across PA's and I've decided that this is what I'm supposed to be doing with my life. None of my family or friends went to college so I have nobody to help guide me lol would you recommend me after I get my GED would you recommend me going to a community college, transferring to a university and then PA school? Also, would I be able to work part time while in PA school without falling behind? I have a car payment and rent so it's not like I can't have an income. If there's any tips you can give me id greatly appreciate it💕

Get GED > community college > transfer to university associated with your CC (I find it easiest to transfer credits) > try to do this online as much as possible if you still need an income. You’ll be healthcare experience so maybe switch your job to something that gets you hours and is not that expensive such as cna or emt

Make sure to begin healthcare experience as soon as you can! There are a lot of volunteer experiences that can get your foot in the door. I am 24, I’ve been working as a surgical tech since I was 18 and I am now interviewing as a PA! Schools really value volunteer and healthcare work hours.
